It is better to do some thing than to continously criticise those who are working hard. At least you should not be biased. If you want to criticise you should have criticised Medrek first who have abonded when approched by the weyane. What chamiso and Lidetu are for you, Beyene, Merara, seye...are for Ethiopian people. I dont think you know what weyane is or what you expect from weyane. If what you are asking Hailu to do against weyane is possible I guarntee you you will not spend a night here. You will be in Addis. If weyane signs the so called 8 points it brings nothing against the weyanes nature. Have you been genuine you would have asked Medrek why they didnt invite him, why they avoid him he is not the first but the last. You haven't proven correct in your history of struggle any where. Late those who have showen us some thing do their job.

AEUP's decesions are the affairs of its executive and general membership. The writer seems to have no clue except flowery abiyotawi words with no substance on the issue he picked up to self make himself a hero.

Those opposition party leaders in Ethiopia function under very difficult and dangerous situation. The very fact that they maintain and hold on to their organization at this time is something they should be appreciated for. They have been through a lot. Prison, harassment, etc.

And this guy is enjoying his life far away from the action and wants to dictate the way oppositions handle their affairs. It is this kind of individuals who seek instant fame that discourage those who try at least something to backdown from exercising what they believe in.

He thinks he knows the mechanics of the negotiations, but he is dead wrong. The AEUP leaders have repeatedly told us that they have exhausted every possible means to extract concessions in light of the so called 8 conditions and took whatever they got. The negotiation is still going on. We have to wait and see.

He boasts that he knows the outcome, more than those leaders in Addis, had AEUP would not have signed the agreement. This shows how immature and naive the writer of the article is.

And this guy has been at it for the 2nd time. What don't you tell us what you have done to fight Woyane or anything else except condemning and insulting elder statesmen.

I can not agree more. These guys are educating their sons and daughters in different trades, enabling their ethic group dominate in the army, dominating every type of business from banking to manufacturing including making huge profits in military equipment purchases, very well-dividing the country as well as the opposition along ethnic lines among others. TPLF as a family, as close netted ethnic group dominated the economy, politics, military, education system, and media, every thing you can think of. It is a very personal matter for every TPLF circle to maintain the system and suicidal to give it up. Too much at stake for TPLF to allow free election and ensure peaceful transition of power. As time passes the wealth accumulation and dominance in the army will increase and that will make even the stake higher and peaceful transition more remote. That is why lets wait and see is dangerous and treacherous.

Nevertheless, this is not pure mathematics and we arrived at this kind of conclusion based on some logic which may omit many things (we might have underestimated or lost sight failed to recognize them). Therefore, as Elsa said, though later Woyane blueprint was observed in her conclusion, I support the idea of giving the benefit of the doubt to those who think peaceful means is plausible. We should show to the audience how their idea will not be working without condemning individuals and leave the decision to the audience. Hatred between oppositions should not be allowed to grow if each opposition genuinely believes its strategy will bring Woyane faster and at less cost. Parties that have the same goal may chose different path to reach the common goal and that is natural. I believe we should not overdo it losing sight of our enemy Woyane, unless doing so is part of our conscious struggle against Woyane or doing so can expose hidden agenda of an “opposition”.

By the way what is the opinion of Dr. Taye and EPRP on Ing. Haylu’s action?

I sometimes think if the opposition spent more time fighting TPLF instead of fighting eachother, there would be some sort of progress.

I do not understand this drive to spend all your attention and energy on eachother. Is it because it is easier to attack someone who has not the Klashinkov?

Guys, stop the bickering and focus on TPLF. Otherwise you all are going to be irrelevant. If you have really like to fight TPLF on the battlefield, join EPPF, and G-7. Stop wasting your time on something that has ABSOLUTELY NO practical benefit to anybody.

Knowingly or unknowingly the writer of this text/article does in favour of the ruling class.
These days the socalled opposition groups are fighting against another oppostion, not struggling against the ruling party democratically.

People who are not member of AEUP have no moral authority to condemn the internal affair of the party.
The party has decided in its own way, almost all in the motherland support the move, because they want to see the change from within.

Those groups who want to launch armed struggle(Fanoists) can go further and victimize the civilians as well as the military. Now about 46 people are tried for inciting armed violence.
In the contemporary Ethiopia Fanoism has no place. Eprdf would be the last FANO-organisation to take power in our country.
Read what Mr. Hailu, the great leader of AEUP said: "In our past history Power was transferring from one regime to another either by military coup or by inheritance, now we want to change the situation in such a way that we vote for our leaders democratically".

This is a modern viewpoint that should be encouraged.
Killing one another is not patriotism.
Tolerance and copromise is the best way that paves the way to democracy.

I still believe(strongly so) that Mr. Shawel has the right to do what ever he wants to do in regards to the coming election. We should wait and see what is going to happen during the election. Enough with wars, enough with bloodsheds! Enough!!!!

What a genuine article.I would like to go further and examine the motive of those who were supporters of Mr.Hailu.Since he came to the the political theater one can see that he is not fit or qualified to represent a major opposition party let alone stand up against woyane propaganda machine. We Ethiopians should stop idolizing personality rather than ideas. My child would not support MR.Shawl for class president!!!

Dr Berhanu tried to erode the leadership of engineer Hailu by his "collective leadership" wrongly copied from the Soviet Union because they used it only as a temporary measure until the General Secretary is elected.

Now the writer and his colleagues are trying to defame engineer Hailu and if they succeeded try that AEUP loose in the coming election with the hope that will boost their armed struggle monitored and led from DC.

It is very unfortunate when the oppositions in Andinet prefer to join Medrek composed of people like Seye and Gebru whose right place is the Hague (ICC) not competing again for political power to loot and kill as usual - what can engineer Hailu do except to move ahead with his supporters.
