More on Col. Mengistu and Prof. Mesfin

November 30th, 2009 |  |  4 Comments

The Addis Ababa-based weekly Awramba Times has more details on former President of Ethiopia Col. Mengistu Hailemariam’s soon-to-be-released book in its latest issue that came out today.

Quoting inside sources, Awramba writes that the book touches many unanswered questions and controversial issues, such as who killed Atse HaileSelassie, and the circumstances under which he left Ethiopia.

Awramba also reports about the political circus at Addis Ababa’s Imperial Hotel Saturday where Prof. Mesfin Woldemariam’s supporters forced the cancellation of UDJ’s general assembly meeting by blocking the entrance to the meeting hall. The general assembly was expected to elect former defense minister Seye Abraha and president Negasso Gidada to the party’s executive committee. Click here to read.

This is pre planed strategy to take over the UDJ party.
This election is b/n criminals vs criminals. Thrust me Birtukan will join the criminals as soon as she released.

Amare, who wrote the above comment.
Since you are aconvicted criminal yourself and you accuse UDJ to be a party of criminals, would you like to officially join them?
Is this a request for invitation?

No doubt that Birtukan will be released and join the party. That has been the plan. Do you think Eseye will have a different vision for Ethiopia? Do you think he will get read off the dominance of the Endowment Fund (The biggest Business Enterprise in Ethiopia owned by Woyene for Tigray Development or Personal aggrandizement)? Do you think he would think differently about Tigrian dominance? Do you believe that he would handle things differently if he were the Prime Minister of Ethiopia during the 2005 election or the War on Somalia or the war on Ogaden people or Orom people etc?

I think it is good to see developments in UDJ in that light!

I am dismayed so many Ethopians are entertaining violence and hate as a tool to promote their untried form of democracy.
Ethiopians will have fully democratic gov’t and institutions gradually as long as peace, tolerance and harmony are given a chance.
It is exasperating to see various individuals with personal mission trying to bring chaos in the name of the over-simplified ideal of democracy.
Even though I would like EPDRF replaced, there appear no strong opposition mainly because individuals with personal ambitions are vying for power all along that most failed to even participate as opposition parties.
now they blame and defame UJD as a pastime.
