Hanatzeb Ethiopian Art Gallery celebrated its grand opening on November 1, 2009.

Located in the Buckhead neighborhood, Hanatzeb Gallery is adding to the City of Atlanta’s growing art scene.

The Gallery also hosts poem reading events and receptions for Ethiopian painters and artists to help them introduce their works.

  1. Assta B. Gettu says:

Art always fascinates me from my childhood up to now, and I always wanted to be an artist but never became one because when a little boy I drew Mary and her baby Jesus on a big wooden beam polished and was ready to be used in the new church building; however, I was severely punished for smearing the beam but the carpenter who saw my drawing told me that I would be a good artist, but his prediction never came true. I am very proud to see these inspiring arts by my Ethiopian artists who may have learned to do such amazing work of art from that famous Ethiopian artist, Afework Tekile and from the other famous Ethiopian artist (I forgot his name) who drew the pictures of the African heads of states when the first time OAU was opened in Addis Ababa by His Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie in 1963.

    May God bless Ethiopian artists!
