This speech was very thoughtful. She touched the very basics of who we are as Ethiopians. Often times we are preoccupied with our own view of Ethiopia, we forget what it really means to be Ethiopian. This was a wonderful way of putting it for everybody to think about. She is a brilliant leader. We are lucky for someone like her to be willing to serve our party and country. We are with you, sister. Keep the train rolling!!!

Adding to what you said will completely spoil your speech. But I'd like to say that I am VERY proud to be your contemporary - the generation that will CHANGE Ethiopia for good and forever.

I like what Birtukan said on the speach. Particularly, the staff she mentioned about Kinijit.org is very timely and it has to be adressed. She spoke about Kinijit.org just because it bares Kinijit's name. That give sense, but the same thing can be said about Ethiopianreview.com. Elias Kifle does pretty much the same thing with Kinijit.org. He just has opposite point of view.

This is the Ethiopian version of.... "I have a dream" by Birtuka Mideksa!!

The thoughtful message of Gibrehiwot Baykedage (died at age 31) masterfully presented by his age par after almost 100 years!!

My friends, right now, I only see a bright future for Ethiopia...we can change the course of history!!

What an exquisite speech. Her humble tone is so appealing. The moral of the speech is timely. As the rising star stressed we have to embrace our brothers and sisters from every ethnic groups and rally toward freedom. The foundation of Ethiopia’s unity needs to be laid upon its constituency hearts.

Indeed, if we abide by Bykedagne’s vibrant message we shall overcome prejudices against Oromo, Tigre or natives from any linguistic groups. Let us promote the maxims’ of the all inclusive party, CUD, by dedicating ourselves to fraternity, reliance and respect with others.
