Tegbar sends a message of support to UEDC

November 24th, 2007 |  |  5 Comments

Press Release
TEGBAR

Ethiopian Democratic Action League (Tegbar) has received the news about the creation of the new alliance called ‘Unity of Ethiopians for Democratic Change’ (UEDC) with great interest.

We believe that UEDC can be a major force in the struggle to stop the Woyanne regime from continuing to terrorize Ethiopians and to stop its attack on the fabric of our society by dividing the people of Ethiopia along ethnic and religious lines.

The Woyanne regime is at war with the people of Ethiopia and neighboring countries. Woyanne warlords are causing the death and displacement of millions of people in Ethiopia, Somalia and the whole Horn of Africa region.

Tegbar believes that the only way Woyanne can be stopped and peace can prevail in Ethiopia when pro-unity and pro-peace forces such as UEDC enable the people of Ethiopia to defend themselves.

It is therefore with great enthusiasm that Tegbar sends a message of support to UEDC. Tegbar is ready to cooperate with UEDC in any way it can.

Tegbar also urges UEDC leaders to establish close ties, or join the Alliance for Freedom and Democracy (AFD).

Well, this terrorist regime of the mafia regime and the criminals must be stopped and quarentened, handcuffed, and escorted to their awaited jail for the crime that they have been committed on Ethiopians.

    hello everybody,
Yes I believe that woyane is dectatorship government and it need to be reshafled or if not removed.two scenarios I can put.
1.If we are trying to remove wayane from power by force, which political party will rule the country? As far as I know all oppostion parties are flacid and weak, incapable of even handling their individual parts.Beside that starting from their emergence most of them are from one area and localized”"”yewenze liji”",which is true with woyanes today. So if let us say Wayane is removed from powerwhat will be the prospective of the country?
2.Another option I suggest is fighting with wayane in peaceful way as some parties are doing in the country.Ofcourse that may be difficult, but it seems seasonal and appropriate.Beside that intellectuals with higher committment should be segregated in wayane parties,IN OPDO,TPLF,..Sothern parties,Amahara parties. If this happen the struggle for democracy looks better and successful.Ofcourse this is risky and needs committment.By the way if we afraid to take this risk believe me we can not be brave enough to fight with weapons.
So in my opinion it is for no use to go for weapon, but have devoted oppostion parties in the country working for the people.

  3. yikerebelen says:

we are ready to support UEDC from our heart , but we need more explanations about the new formed alliance , who are responsible for the alliance, how far is this newly borned new hope alliance is free from ERITREA’s government, if the eritrea’s governement has played a high role to bring these different fronts ,which have been sacrifying separately for the same cause together, why did not ONLF and OLF be a part of this alliance as far as it is the wish of eritrea’s governemnet for the formation of this alliance, eritrea must push these separatists groups to join the alliance and to their share in the struggle against an enemy of humanity in east africa.the fromation of this alliance is a good start ,and new hope for peaceloving ,and poor ethiopia’s people and more over , this alliance can give a full gaurantee for ethiopia’s future ethiopia’s unity ,because those who created an alliance are concrend ethiopia. to do the job effectively and to be accepted the newly borned alliance by ethiopia’s people, olf and onlf should be a part of the alliance. The eritrea’s governement should push these two liberation fronts to take one big steep forward and join ethiopiawism and fight for the freedom of ethiopia’s people as a whole and put the foundation of true democracy’s instittutions for once and for all. GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA AND IT’S CHILDREN. AMEN

  4. Dagaadhiibi says:

OLF and ONLF, together with other major Opposition parties both Ehiopianist and Liberation movements, are already party to an alliance (AFD)which is an all inclusive undertaking that has become for the majority of the Ethiopian people a beacon of hope: as a dawn of democratic society, a promise of freedom and hope for a future where citizens lead life free from fear, vilolence, repression and group domination. Why keep on dismantling and building instead of strenthening what is already popular and most feasible organization that can be a panecea for the political crisis of the Horn?? All Ethiopians whose views and vision are based on reality instead of wishfull thinking, including the Tegbar League, should throw their full support behind AFD and save the country from group dictatorship and anarchy.

  5. yikerebelen says:

brother dagaadhiibi, you are right, AFD is very important and the way to a bright future for all ethiopians. but here we should know one thing , kinijit became amember of AFD when kinijit leaders were under weyane’s prison in qality. , now our leaders free from qality and they are continue their peacefull struggle fromin side, where as other members like EPPF,TDM, OLF AND ONLF have already decided to challenge weyane by armed struggle, so these fronts must create one united front and continue their armed resistance against weyane, CUD and other oppositions should continue their peacefull struggle against weyane from in side. so for the strategical reason, CUD can not continue a member of AFD. but the supporters of both armed forces and CUD’S can work together fromout side and in side. still AFD is very important and our future hope, GOD BLEES ETHIOPIA AND IT’S CHILDREN. AMEN
