It was a good thing to support Obama, and the fund raising event was very impressive. However, the Ethiopian American representatives who spoke on behalf of the Ethio Americans, has only mentioned that the reason why we support Obama is just because he opposed the war in Iraq from the day one. The speaker also mentioned that his sister has been serving in the war. I am very concerned about his sister and in general about the crises due to the war in Iraq. But how come someone from Ethiopia would fail to say something about our country relationship with the United States. I think the fundamental issue as an Ethio American is the foreign policy of Obama’s stand. In my opinion the speaker should’ve mention that we ethio Americans are expecting that Obama doesn’t make America an ally with any type of tyranny governments including the Ethiopian (TPLF) regime. As an ethio american he has also should've mentioned that we are expecting Obama would support HR2003 without any condition and Obama wouldn't also make America an ally with Ethiopian government who is terrorizing its own people. But, I can't blame someone who is really careless about his own country like the speaker, while I should’ve gone to the event and raise this fundamental ethio American issue and concern to the rest of the people in the event including the chief counsel and the chairs of DC for Obama and Fairfax County for Obama and other concerned American's in the Washington metro area. Finally, good start but not enough accomplishment, so that from now on if we had the chance to indorse obama in any occasion lets bare our burning problems in mind as an Ethio-American.

  2. Concerned says:

I will only support if and only if I believe Obama will oppose dictators like Meles and his government. Otherwise, if he is no different, why would I wanna vote for a man who is going to resemble Meles, I don't need to see a black man in the White House, our look alike, supporing the ones who made us flee. I want to see Obama like Menelik who is going to be a nightmare for dictators by the Grace of GOD.
    Thanks
