That Day! What will happen to the Tigreans?

EDITOR’S NOTE: We believe that the majority of the poor and exploited people of Tigray must not suffer because of the criminal and anti-Ethiopia acts of the Tigrean elites, including some of those who claim to oppose the Meles regime, but continue to promote Tigrean supremacy. A public dialogue is necessary to avoid potential violent backlash against fellow Ethiopians of Tigrean ethnic group as a result of the evil deeds of the politicians who claim to represent them. It’s is with this spirit that the following article is published.

By Assta B. Gettu

When that Day comes what will happen to the Tegarues (Tigreans)? That Day is to some a Day of doom; to others a Day of Joy and celebration, and that Day is the final Day of Meles Seitanawi (Zenawi).

After Meles Seitanawi’s regime is terminated and all of his political gangs have vanished from the face of the earth, I always fear many Ethiopians who have been marginalized for so many years under Meles’ political party whose main purpose has been to enrich the few selected tribes may retaliate disproportionately against the Tegarues, who are also to be Ethiopians but badly misguided by one of their evil sons – Meles Seitanawi.

To protect such fallen victims from being completely erased from the map of Ethiopia, the avengers – the Amharas, the Oromos, the Somalis in the Ogaden and the other Ethiopian tribes – must gingerly take immediate actions against those hot-tampered Ethiopians who want to destroy the Tegarues because of Meles’ vicious political leadership.

As in all wars or conflicts, the victors do not always completely destroy their enemies: some they capture and send them to jail, and some they pardon and send them home without harming them. In this way, all Ethiopians, it is my hope, are expected to do better than this toward the Tegarues, their own people, not their foreign enemies. This does not mean the few criminals must go unpunished, and most Ethiopians well know who these hard core criminals are and who have been terrorizing Ethiopia for almost twenty years. If captured, these evil men and women who have been eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the unfortunate Ethiopians should face justice and should be told what they have done to their own people and why they have done such heinous crimes against humanity.

The conflict in Ethiopia is a family conflict, and as such it could be solved by the Ethiopians themselves; in fact, it could have been solved long time ago if, for instance, Washington’s support for Meles Seitanawi were a legitimate one to help Ethiopia elect a democratic government.

Conflicts occasionally exist in a family, no matter how strong, or spiritual, the family is, and when the family is unable to solve its conflicts, a good neighbor comes in and tries to solve the conflict; however, Ethiopia, at this time, does not have a very concerned neighbor, thanks to Meles Seitanawi for a job well done in rendering Ethiopia almost a friendless nation.

The friendship between Ethiopia and the West is an artificial one on which Ethiopians should not rely at all; if it were a genuine one, the West, with all its overwhelming power and economic might, could have helped Ethiopia to remove the dictator Meles Seitanawi from his corrupt regime as the West helped Iraq by overthrowing Saadam Hussein; rather, the West has emboldened Meles Seitanawi by training his army and by financing his criminal activities continuously and shamelessly.

Therefore, when the conflict in Ethiopia comes to an end naturally or by waging war against Meles Seitanawi, the Tegarues who have not committed any crime should not fear any retaliation from the oppressed Ethiopian tribes, for most Ethiopians could remember the divine words: “Vengeance is mine” – and they should prevent themselves from shedding the bloods of some innocent Tegarues. The Apostle Paul firmly declares: “Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord” (Romans 12:19). These particular divine words should be learned diligently and practiced effectively by every Ethiopian who has the propensity to harm another Ethiopian from the region of Tigray.

When Meles Seitanawi divided the country on ethnic lines, the main purpose was to give the Tigreans an economic and political advantage over the other tribes without first thinking carefully what would happen to them after he leaves office. By doing special favor for them, he is, in fact, isolating them from the rest of the Ethiopian people and making them an easy target to fall into the hands of an angry mob from the other tribes of the Ethiopian people as soon as he is removed from power.

So in the long run, Meles is hurting the Tegarues rather than helping them, and some of the Tegarues may not yet realize the danger they are heading to after their master Meles Seitanawi abandons them and flees the country and asks for an asylum in America or Saudi Arabia to save his life before he is caught and handed over to the International Court for his crimes against his own people.

We may fail to identify all the criminals, but we will never fail to identify Meles, Azeb, Abune Paulos, and Al Amoudi when that final Day – a “Day of Reckoning” – comes, and those who escape from the wraths of the Ethiopian people on that final Day are those who have never given up their struggles to overthrow the Meles regime, and these heroes are the ones who can determine the final fate of the Tegarues.

These well-disciplined Ethiopian heroes will not automatically destroy everyone who speaks Tigrigna but carefully examine if one has been involved with Meles criminal activities when Meles was in power and bring him/her to justice. In this way, the innocent Tegarues are spared from being executed, and they will be reconciled with the rest of the Ethiopian people.

After all, most Ethiopians follow the teaching of Jesus, that is, they can forgive the Tegarues as many times as the Tegarues ask for forgiveness; what matters here the most is not revenge on one’s own people but forgiveness for the sake of Christ, who taught us to forgive our brothers and sisters and live together in peace. As it has been difficult to live in peace with our neighbors during Meles’ reign of terror, it would be possible for every Ethiopian to enjoy freedom and to live in peace under a democratically elected Ethiopian Prime Minister whose priority is the Ethiopian people not his/her own interest.

Someone may say that the Jews persecuted, one by one, the Nazi criminals wherever they had been hiding but forgave the world that failed to protect the Jews, and it would be the same thing with the oppressed Ethiopians: they would hunt the Meles family and his death squads and impel them to confess their atrocities toward the helpless Ethiopians but allow the peace-loving Tegarues to go free and work in their country without a fear of any reprisal from the other oppressed Ethiopians.

Mengistu Haile Mariam and Meles Seitanawi slaughtered many Ethiopian students, priests, and political leaders without giving them a chance to defend themselves in the court, but such offensive and arbitrary killings will never happen again in Ethiopia once Ethiopia has a democratically elected leader from whatever tribe he or she might be. This is my dream, and, I think, it is also the dreams of many Ethiopians in the diaspora and at home; of course, dreams sometimes may not come true, but I hope this time they will come true because Meles is morally, economically, and politically weaker than ever before.

The good Tegarues, the Amharas, the Oromos, and the many other Ethiopian tribes should stick together and work hard never to bring to power the evil leaders to govern them once the Meles regime is over through peaceful negotiation or arms struggles or through what ever means necessary.

No one in his or her right mind wants to see Ethiopians wage an ethnical war except Meles Seitanawi so that he could stay in power indefinitely; an ethnically divided country, like Ethiopia, may not prosper because of the conflict that exists among the different tribes, each tribe claiming superiority over the other tribe instead of thinking as one nation, as one Ethiopia. If, for example, the Tegarues believe in the Abay Tigray; the Oromos in their big number; and the Amharas in their Imperial dynasty, then such conflict of interest would take Ethiopia further to more disintegration and instability. Such uncalled for disintegration and instability would create continuous hostility between each tribe, and each tribe claiming victory over the other tribe and trying to subjugate the weaker tribe. In such rare or perhaps common cases, the weaker tribe may ally itself with the other stronger tribe, and the internal conflict will continue until a lasting solution to the conflict is found through a democratically elected leader, and this democratically elected leader will benefit not only the Tegarues who fear retaliations from the other tribes but all the tribes of Ethiopia after that final Day of doom for Meles Seitanawi and his entire political advisers.

  1. A very nice article. But i want make clear onethings here. there is no a greater Tigraye, there is only one or two Awrajas for tigraens if they want to ceced from Ethiopia.Adaw belongs to Ethiopia because it is a place where a lot of heroes and heroenes are passed away, Auxum is a place where the solomonic dynasty lived and established, tigre was only a serf there, Awarajas taken wollo and Gonder will be given back where they belong etc. Now i do not want to west my time how things will work when the judgment day come.

  2. Some try to deny what is likely to happen when the Meles regime is removed. Now a days resentment is building among other ethnic groups towards Tigrians. Look the hostilities in the universities in Oromia,Addis Ababa. Please speak business people in Addis, they tell you the Tigrian business men are favoured.
Most of them support the rigme even if they don’t like it as they feel sense of security. This is what we hear from our freinds.I really appreciate handfull of Tigrian who are struggling against the regime.
This fear is a day to day discussion among Tigrains and other ethiopians.
What the writter has done is he push forward the issue for public discussion to avoid any nasty things that could happen to our inocent brothers and sisters. And i think this article opens a forum for all Ethiopians to discuss on the matter, build trust and struggle togather.

  3. Hi,
To all Tigreans who support the Melles regime, PLEASE WAKE UP BEFORE IT GETS TOO LATE. EVEN THE SOMALI SOMALIANS ARE COUNTING ON (YOU) TIGREANS. THERE CAN REALY BE A POTENTIAL DANGER AHEAD. YOU ALL HAVE TO ACT AGAINST FALSE TPLF. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN AVERT THE DANGER!

  4. This is a solid fact. well articulated by Assta. We are united to remove the criminal TPLF for ever. We will see this soon. If the tigres did’t want this to happen they should’t massacare, loot, torture the innocent and violate the teritorial integrity of the country.

We say enough is enough to TPLF.

  5. It is surprising to see this kind of rubbish article which aims to threaten Tigreans who defeated and destroyed half a milion Ex- brutal gevernment’s miliotary might through small weapons. Now Tigreans are in a good condition and controled the state military and secuirty power so that no one can threaten or attack them unless he/she/they want to go to the hell. this is totally a propoganda and threat fabricated by the brutal regim in eritrea and posted by their accomplices like elias kifle.
So, we are not scared by any threat either from abroad or from inside the country. We Tigreans are the same as what we were during the armed struggle againest the brutal Amhara Neftegnas and other accomlices who were killed thousands of innocent citizens for nothing.

  6. Dear Elias

This is a wonderful article, and this issues need to be raised and talked about.

On the other hand, where are the tigrians, they never attend our public meeting or they have never got involved in demonstrations or in our organisation affair. And I believe this is the time to get start getting involved with any organisation, because the time has come and the time is now to kick out this individual from power, the time is here with us.

What EPPF stand for is for all Ethiopia and Ethiopian people regardless our tribal stand, so you tigrians should start change your views and come with us to fight for onethiopia and kick out this criminal individual from our country and save or people.

    Long Leave EPPF

  7. # 6 and other respondents of this article,

Don’t blame Assa Getu or Elias. Weyanes were telling their supporters the same thing for the last 30-40 years. After the loss in May election, Tigreans came together to save their dynasty. Their galvanizing motto was “we are in danger” Amhara is coming back to destroy you”.

This article may reaffirm what Weyanes are saying. The only difference, this article reflects more the truth; all oppressed Ethiopians may stand together against the oppressor. It just warns unnecessary collateral damage on innocent by standards.

  8. You must be fooling yourself if anyone of you out there haven’t raised and talked about this very same but scary question the author to his credit brought it to the open?? At least the author had a gut to bring the issue to the open and who knows some few wise people from the ruling class Tigrains might heed the author’s valid and timely advice and take the needed change before things get out of hand???

  9. Hi All,
We know you very well. We offered you weapons if you want to go to the bush and challenge us,but you don`t have the big heart.Beleieve it or not you should prepare yourself to bend and offer your butt to Tigrayans for centuries to come.

  10. Despite all evil acts, Tigreans Elites support Weyane for a simple reason.
“ Sishom Yalbella….” and they operate on the fact that politics has a short memory and once Weyne is removed, the new political realty may be far beyond revisiting what the Weyanes did. It may be true… But the ethnic dimension of today Ethiopian politics may not be that forgiving as we might wish. That is why we cried loud all along about the danger of ethnic politics. TPLF strategy to dominate the majorities may soon backfire with serious consequences; it is just a matter of time.

  11. Thanks for youer article !
i juste wonder one muste know what was the main cause for the tigerus to bee in power !
Tplf become successfull becouse they exploited the existing contradictions etnic beasd national questions and munupuletion and fulling the OLF by signing the churter in hop to shear a power.
i think TPLF is good in resolving the tigrayans national independece to day tigray is independent state within the stat of Ethiopia that is good so we dont have tigraans complaining they are oppressed by ather one ! Ethiopia is allweys been a prison for many nationality

    Exempel
so every one must fight for its right to bee independent and free form bing surpresde by the other one i personali bilive tigrus fought Ethiopian gvt to bee selfe determind nation of ther own but to day they are blemd of bing surpressers. No one will give you a freedoon no ppl on this earth have got freedoom us a gift from some one ! evry one shuld fight for its case . Ethiopia is created by God it is made by wore and killings . tigrayans ho shear power and benifiit of juste beeing tigrayan should bought to justis and it will wether Ethiopia exist or not . you never know what might happen next !
correction to the author you muste know the diffrence between tribe and nationa and nationaliti

  12. nothing will happenn to innocent tegaru. But what ever been stolen and transported to tigray by night will be returned to the owner by day light so everybody can see it.We never been asked tigrayans a favore to remove mengistu for us and replace it with Meles. If they think they owe us s/thing we are ready to pay them by removing meles for them.

  13. the fact that you recycled this hateful article shows who you are elias. i am a big big supporter of yours since you opened your website more than a decade ago, but this article is sickening

  14. This articles seems to convey notthing but pure hatred but little else. Surely Malsaitenawi and TPLF gang are real blood suckers. But so are many elites in every ethnic group of Ethiopia, be in the past or today. I Would hope to see more contructive and less emotional ideas from people to improve our current socio-political and developmental morass. We cannot stuck with culture and cycle vicious revenge, couter-revenge and impunity for ever. It gotta be other solutions and ways.We must chart out different and inclusive approach together.

  15. Is this what has happened to Ethiopia?

I am ashamed to read this garbage article.
Woyanne is in every ethnic group. Amhara Oromo Tigray Somali and everyone else.

    EMIYE AGERE AMLAK YITEBIKISH!!!!!!

  16. Thank you Gorfu!Readers, please see no.52 which is Gorfu’s statement. Yes this is what we should promote and put in practice if this ignorants will not stop injuring our nation.

They will be confined in one smal Awuraja. We will apaly quarantine to this evils.

  17. Haha……

Men dont be foolish, nothing will happen to Tigreans after Meles Zenawi because of many reasons.

    1. We know that nothing was happen to Amhara after Haileselassie or Dergue.
    2. The Ethiopian people are really tied in blood and history not as u imagine it. So I dont think there will be ‘ye metsat ken’ only for tigreans.
…………u can find tons and tons of reasons that can tell Ethiopia will remian Ethiopia if you guys think wisely.

  18. I dont think 3 million people have this absolute power to rule Ethiopia unless those you think they are anti- the ruling government, like Amhara and Oromo has played a big role.

  19. The very fact that somebody was bold enough to write this garbage shows what they are really dreaming about. For the life of me, I can no understand why Elias was trying to explain the intentions of the writer because there is no need to cover feces with gold and this piece is just that. The writer, subliminally, is preparing a mob to inflict heavy damage on a particular ethnic group just because they share the same heritage with those who are in power. Talk about collective punishment of the worst kind! This Neanderthal is giving notice to everyone with a grudge to take the law into their hands and get their revenge after the fall of the TPLF clique. Yes, I understand he is not saying that directly because no one can dare say that but everyone can see what his true intentions are. Rulers and dictators come and go but the mutual respect, cooperation and friendship among Ethiopians have lasted centuries and that will never change despite the wishes of some deranged mind. Both Meles and Issias committed unforgivable crimes during the time of their personal skirmishes which ended up costing thousands of lives; they uprooted thousands of citizens of their respective countries and forced them to abandon their homes and live a life of misery. Ethiopians and Eritreans ended up being a political pawn in a game very well played by close relatives. Ethiopians will never succumb to evil temptations of pitting one group against another no matter what transpired in their past lives. And this article is nothing more than trying to foment such grave atrocities against the masses of Tigreans who have nothing to do with the actions of the present ruling clique. Filth has no place in a forum that is supposed to be a medium to exchange ideas that will constructively build the only place we call all call home. Elias, grow up and try to be civilized.

  20. Just to be honest what is new about this Article. The thought of venegance was boiled in every Ethiopian mind. Specifically those who lost the love ones and sufur a brutal hands of Tigreans and their clique. I lost my brother in the hands of Tigreans kidnapped from Addis Abeba University. When the Dog Day comes i want to see who will stop me !!! Let that day come….

    AMEN

  21. The lovers of TPLF are more worried by this article than by what is done in their name and in the name of the people Tigray to this end. The scenario the author described above is not an unplasuable. All you need on the top of existing tension among the people of Ethiopia which by the way is artificially created started by TPLF, compounded by the economic difficulties which BTW is felt more by the rest of Ethiopia than by the people of Tigray, is a excuse that would trigger which could ignite the mix to explosion. Once you have that, the logic of confilct will take over, from there the fruits of TPLF’s work will take care that Ethiopians will never trust and talk to each other.

  22. Thomas H,

The gruesome woyane donkey.. do the math you have nowhere
to hide. On May 7, May 15 you were wetting your pants and no one had lifted a finger against woyanes. You can bs all
day with yopur empty bravado but that day will come and your
only choice is to crawl back into your dedebit ant hall where you belong anyways. Your inferiority complex is killing you.

  23. I do not see any wrong doing in the article . TPLF is still on power not because it gets support from tegerians, because of so many mindless bandas from different ethnice groups. The oromos are killing another oromos in support of TPLF, the amharas arekilling another amharas in support of TPLF. So theterroroist TPLF has been existing because of other ethnice groups not only by tegerians. The article gives us brotherly advise to issolate innocent ethiopians and punish all criminals regardless of their ethnice groups. They are bad people and good people from all ethnice groups, they are shameless bandas from all ethnice groups, so ethiopians must identify/issolate those innocents people from criminals and bring to justice those who have been killing innocent ethiopians and ethiopiait self.

  24. If nothing else convinced the Tigraes about Meles’s atrocities–what woyanes did to that hero Ethiopian pilot is enough for Tigreans to come together and denounce Meles’s regime. The pilot’s story has changed me not to trust Tigreas who SUPPORT Meles for the rest of my life. I do not understand how any human being would support the man who tortured so many innocent people. Tigreas need to stand up against Hitler Meles and take their good names back. I repeat, I believe there are a lot of Tigraes who hate Meles and they need to speak louder against this killer of so many young men and women and tortured countless people.

  25. “whosoever associates and makes deal and or participates in the scheme of my enemy is my enemy Whereas he who disassociates and deals not with my enemy I trust.” the BOOK of ENOCH.

Like Abrham searched before the heavenly fire destructed sodom; search among tigreans and see how they would fit in the teachings of ENOCH.

Are the tigreans willing to prove to the rest of Ethiopians which side they incline?

The time is now to separate the wheat from the chaffs.

  26. First, let me start by saying that most of you are talking in third person. It is so obvious that those who never backed away for morethan half a century to destroy anything that is Ethiopian may felt that, the current political as well as economical situation in Ethiopia is shaky. As much as your effort to destroy the BOND, natural inter-relation, mutual respect, understanding, and brother hood, YOU WILL NEVER BE SUCCESSFUL! I can tell you with confidence that WE the people of Ethiopia are more than your narrow, uneducated, and wild predictions. My advice to you is may be you need to strip yourself and stand in the fridged waters of Black Sea for 40 days facing east Beging “GOD” TO Re-Write the “BIBLE” just so your wild dreams will come true. Remember attempting to spread a sense of instability and fear into the forgiving, accepting, and peace loving people of Ethiopia is not the solution to the whole of East Africa. We need to think and see the bid picture beyond our own self centered point of view. We have to learn from our past and wrong and use it to better understand and better the future of our people in the whole of Africa!! We all are Africans and human beings after all. Let us not give in for GREED AND POWER!! because generosity and hope are what will lead us to where we all want to be.

    God Bless

  27. hey every body what wrong with the article lets speake truth ,whats happing in the grownd the article it dosnt hate tigrians but its dewole to awake those sleeping deeply with enemy of ethiopia.do u know how we are suffering no one speake like me becausei i am one of the victom ,a farmer for the time being i am in hosptal in gorebet ager the article it dosnt expose about our land how many innocent farmers dispper.kiddnape conficicatee there land givin to there tigrianse let them have but they are ethiopians the way how to implment there hidne agenda is beyond urs imagination. after i return back to agerai lemelmoua gonder i will writte the trut and u will judj it, please.

  28. Meles will be gone for sure, those who benefited and continue to benefit from thie association with the system will paya price. Yes, they have to do right before it gets late. It doesn’t have to do with any thing but justice.

  29. well
the problem lies in their poor mentality.just to refer one simple example read #60 that a pure copy of what their discussion starts and ends with in the groups like MATE(mahber tigreans in europe) and they have been patronised with hatred and exclusion in ethiopia by themselves.
no one exept them could take the responsibility to their actions.
i think the war with shaebea is part and parcel of their poor mentality bcs it was not like what we thought in the beginning and it will not happen like what the tplf has calculated BCS IT FAILED MISERABLEY!BUT THE TPLF SEEMS VERY STRESSDED WHICH I THOUGHT WAS THE SHAEBEA SHOULD BE STRESSED BUT THEY SEEM TO BE VERY CALM AND WORKING IN WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN!!!!

    peace to the oppressed!!

  30. There are so many things that are lost in the minds of those who frequent this site and the contents of this article are the least of their worries. First thing first and let me enumerate.

    1. The Amhara ethnic group is so much occupied with the TPLF ethnic policy that they forgot that every ethnic group has now tested the experience of self-administration that hell will freeze over before they give up that right which was theirs to begin with. If there is going to be any change in that regard, each ethnic group is asking to have more administering power rather than going to the old feudal days of Haile Selassie. I have seen all kinds of chauvinistic ideas (particularly from the Amharas) expressed on this site based on the strong hatred they have towards the TPLF clique which has removed any remnants of the old feudal order that was left over from the Dergue days. Let me ask anyone of you who have responded to this article in some very odd ways; do you really think that all the administrative regions created by the Woyanes willingly give up their self-administration in favor some governor assigned by a future Neftegna ruler? You may argue that you are fighting for the establishment of a democratic system of rule and not a feudal order but what I see from most who scribble on this site is just the opposite. The ideas most of you forward is to re-establish the lost hegemony of the Amharas disguised in a democratic garb. As it stands now, most of the administrative regions have a few Amharas as percentage of their population and from all indications, that percentage will go down further and the Amharas will be confined to their region as time goes by. Folks, this is the reality whether TPLF is in power or not. TPLF may have paved the way for the self-adminstration of these regions, but it is the people who are doing the real adminstration.
    2. ONLF is not fighting to keep the geographic boundary of Ethiopia in tact. The Somalis have and will always identify with their brethren from the south. If some of you are really concerned about the plight of the Tigreans when the TPLF leaves the scene, I believe your concern is totally misplaced because a day of reckoning is waiting you when the people of the Ogaden choose to split from the mainland and declare an independent nation just like Eritrea. If you are at all concerned about the geography of Ethiopia, however you might hate it, you are lucky that you have the TPLF fighting the ONLF in its quest for independence. If you clique on this site, http://www.ogaden.com/hibaq060109.htm some of you will have a slice of the ideas what the supporters of the ONLF are talking nowadays. Now, some of you have been supporting the struggle waged by ONLF based on the belief that the Ogaden will be a part of Ethiopia, but I hate to spoil your dream because that is not the intention of the ONLF or for that matter, the people of the Ogaden. What are we going to do then? Should we continue fighting the ONLF? Anyone remember the last time we have major wars with Somalia during the time of the Dergue and recently with the TPLF? In both instances, we had to call for help to win the conflict; Russians, Cubans and Yemenis during the 1977 war and of course the might of the American war and political machine during the 2006 war. If we can learn anything from history, all of us can clearly see how those wars ended. If we choose to stand on the path of the ONLF after the fall of the Woyane, who is going to be on our side to help us win the war of the horn? My two cents of advice to those who are bent on getting revenge on the Tigreans is to think carefully before things get out of control and end up splitting the nation into pieces.
    3. I wish our problem was only confined to the Woyanes and the ONLF, but I am afraid there is still more. As most everybody knows by now, the Oromos represent more than 40% of the Ethiopian population with a good chunk of the territory under their belt. As it stands right now, no one knows for sure if the Oromos want their own piece of land or would like to stay with the rest of us. The Woyanes are in constant struggle with the Oromos to subjugate and rule over them. At one time, the Woyanes put more than forty-thousand Oromos behind bars to squash their struggle and thousands of Oromos are still languishing there. And the Oromos and the Ogadenis have seen that whenever someone is locked up in prison who champions the cause of the Amharas, North American and European cities are flooded with protesters to seek their freedom, but when an entire region is surrounded and the people subjected to a collective punishment as it happened in the Ogaden, the street of those same cities have no soul to care for them. These double standards have been the norm for a long time now and the minority ethnic group of Ethiopia who comprise more than eighty percent of the population have taken note. That’s one of the reason that many minority groups have decided life together with their Amhara neighbor should end if there is going to be any peace in the region.

Compared to the myriad of problems Ethiopia will face after the rule of the Woyanes, the fate of the Tigrean people pales in comparison. If anyone of you are under the impression that you will have your day with innocent Tigreans, rest assured that these people are warriors and are not going to wait for you to be massacred. The Tigreans comprise about six percent of the Ethiopian population and they managed to control the whole nation for the last seventeen years. Do you really believe this is a characterstics of a docile people waiting to be slaughtered? Well, these are the same Woyanes who managed to subdue and overpower black Africa’s largest and heavily armed military force into oblivion. And I find it very hard to believe a threat coming from those who are accustomed to a life of comfort in the west to take revenge on relatives of the Woyanes.
Think positive and think peace to have a secure and peaceful nation.

  31. Does any body know where to find two articles of TPLF:They are in Tigrinya. I will get hem translated.

    1. “From where to where”. The title is in Tigrinya.

    2. “The greater Tigray Manifesto”

  32. This article contains the facts about the real acts and deeds of the Meles & co. It is true that Tigres are the sole beneficiaries from this evil government .The Tigres at least haven’t seen their neighbors dead body on the streets under the Meles rule. They haven’t received the dead body of their son from a prison. They haven’t taken to the streets in protest with the rest of the oppressed people .No one has lost his body part by brutal torture among Tigres under king Meles. None of the Tigre students were removed from universities only for their ethnic background. So how come you guys tell me that Tigres share the Ethiopian dream to come with the rest of the oppressed people of the empire?

  33. Elias
I am glad you raised this issue, because i was just discussing same thing a week ago ,I know it’s not good to hear nor to think but it’s comming people came on,and wake up we have to avoid it for real, because we all know what we felt about tigrees.

  34. Before I proceed to my comment ,let me say a few words to the writer of comment#82.Dear Yonas ali your idea is somewhat acceptable. But why you try to put those Tigreans on top of other tribes in the nation as if they were super-humans? We all know who overthrew the derg, right? The removal of derg didn’t even require the involvement of the American government as a whole .They used very little fraction of their power to do so ;the only actors were the African affairs’ section of the state dept. When it comes to todays Tigres, it is completely different. Why they need to pick their AK-47’s and look down to dedebit desert? Is that where they belong? What if they accept their Ethiopianity and live like anyone else? The unity of the country is being decided by the involvement of every citizen ,especially the majority and the most oppressed .Like it or not the future of Ethiopia will be decided by the Oromos. It is not those minority elements who will tell the mighty Oromos to sit back and see when their son is hanged for false accusations .It was the Oromos who were dying for their country but when it comes to power sharing ,something used to take place .They don’t want to see that happen again .It is already a history now . If you want to know whether the Oromos love Ethiopia more than anyone ,try to talk to any peasant .But when we come to the Tigres they don’t want to be called Ethiopians unless they stay on power forever . They lack the confidence of self rule .That is why they don’t oppose the brutality of woyane.Today they need to calculate the future of their children before it is too late .Freedom is not in dedebit desert ,freedom is in the mind of every Ethiopian. So when it comes to revenge I cannot wait for that particular day to avenge for my mutilated, castrated, killed, lost, buried alive relatives and neighbors. In my opinion those brutal acts were approved and backed by the Tigray people.Because I haven’t heard a word from any single Tigre opposing these fascism.Today there are thousands of Tigre mega-millionaires in the nation because the country belongs only and only to them at least for the moment. For your surprise the Tigres don’t even accept if we call them for unity after woyane is gone . Because they only need to be on the shoulder of the innocent ,God fearing people of Ethiopia.Anyway let that day come…..GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA!

  35. This is fact! And the writer portrays the hidden fact in every tigrean who assume themselves as opposing TPLF and in others too. Guys, before condemning Elias, you better check yourself. Elias did a great job in exposing hidden agendas and this evil aspect of Woyanne must be disclosed and must be discussed openly otherwise woyanne is killing ethiopia. God Bless Ethiopia!

  36. Dear Elias,

This is a very dangerous and ill motivated scribble. I wonder why you went the extra mile of reposting it again. Please remove it from the web site. It is sickening.

  37. Response to no. 82.

The fall of Dergue is not because the Tigreans were clever
for fighting or because TPLF is warriors. Sure they have been rebels. Tigreans are sensing fall sense of patriotism.
The collapse of Dergue is mainly because the spie acitivities of the west to remove socialism from Ethiopia.
Money countries contributed for Dergue to be removed. The degrue generals were facilitated to be corrupted and leave the battle field for Woyane.

It looks that the “educated Tigreans” are blinded by power and the especial advantage they can get from TPLF. Thanks to GOD, now TPLF is known from Eritrea to Somalia for its
evil acts let alone by Amharas.

  38. Tigreans have always stood up for peace, prosperity and justice for our beloved county. No one will deny the fact, except those who have been defeated by the 17 years of bitter straggle, that Tigrians have immensely contributed and continue to do so for the betterment of our mother land.
In its long history, Ethiopia is better developed and educated today than ever. My huts off for the Tigrain young men and women who have paid dearly for it.
It appears that the remnants of Dergu ear have not given up, at least in internet, their ill will towards not only the power that defeated them, the WEYNIN GEGNA, but also to all the Tigrains.
If history is our witness, Tigray have never been defeated by its enemies, weather the enemy is a county, a group, or individuals. So, I say, nothing will happen to Tigrians, because, they the peace loving Ethiopians beside them.

Peace and love for Ethiopia and Ethiopians.

    Zahlay

  39. Hi Friend,

Please wake up. The west helped Irak to remove Sadam not because they wanted to establish a democratic nation but for their own interest, oil interest.

Ethiopia, as of today, has no oil. So, no oil implies no interest and this again implies no intervention.

    As simple as that.
