To be honest this pilots are heros in real ethiopians eyes,lets not forget this heros are the same people who put there lives on the line when ethiopia was in war with somalia in the early days and most of this pilots trained many ethiopian air ways pilots and gained nothing even decent wages this is the thanks they get it seems ethiopia does not want educated people.i do not have answers for every thing but with slight common sense
you can see ignorant people (Bwendimu) are really rapped up in the present illusion like the good people (most of you) said the table will turn and this time its not only the regime like last time will be prosecuted its the agame people and it will be really ugly .

It is really surprising. I was not aware of this trial at all!

The story of Hawzen must be told in full before TPLF or anybody else even thinks of condemning these soldiers. Hawzen was an orchestrated massacre! It was a Hitlerite tactic employed by TPLF to win over the people of Hawzen who had refused to send their children to the "struggle" up till that horrible day. Leggesse Asfaw and Leggesse Zenawi are equally responsible for this massacre. And they should be the ones answering questions, not the pilots who were executing orders as any average soldier would do.

The sentence passed by the kangaroo Court of the current regime against the former Ethiopian Air Foce pilots should not be a surprise to us because the hidden agenda of Woyanne is the distruction of ETHIOPIA. The way to contain the above and eliminate it in the long run is for those of us in the Diaspora to work for one ETHIOPIA with ETHIOPIANS by ETHIOPIANS. it was a war, what is it? these officers were ordered to do this mission,successfully execute the mission, they are our heros, they tried to protect Ethiopia.
if these peoples were considered as criminal then Meles need to pay for 193 peoples who were killed on the broad day light, killing in south north and also in Somalia, he should pay for it,.. this is the stupidest court verdict I ever heard of, any way I don't expect anything good will come out from TPLF anyway

If these pilots were found as criminals in the court of law then what would be the verdict for Meles, Azeb, Seyoum, Frazer, Bereket, and all the weyane stooges that caused death and distraction between the people of Ethio-Eritrea. According to many knowlegeable people nearly 150,000 innocent Ethiopian soldiers were killed in just 2 years or less, far less than what perished during Mengistu Era; all the other killing that are taken place all over the kilils in the name of democracy and development; the 193 slaughtering in Addis infront of their beloved ones; and now god knows how many Somalis and Ethiopian soldiers are being slaughtered on daily basis. You don't have to be weyane lover or hater to witness for such crimes these people are committing and they have the guts to tell the world about "derg's crime"

Are most of you here pro-Derge?
Or are you trying to tell us Derge was a legitmate government? Opposing woyanne for its undemocratic and ethnocenteric nature should not make the brutal military regime (Derge) immune for what it did!
Had it not been for the tyrannic and sabotageful activities of the Derg officials and military commanders, we could have had a democratic and elected government right after the fall of the Feudalism(Emperor regime). But still we are paying for that!

Who did those crimes? Derg and TPLF. Derg did it, because to stay in power for 4000 years. Why TPLF did such brutal action against the civilian? Because, TPLF wanted to show for the world that, how the dergs are murderers, and to achieve VERY cheap political profit and to gain a military support from western and Arab countries.

One day Meles and highly decorated Tigran generals face the same trials.
By the way in Ethiopian army 90% highly decorated officers are come from the minority Tigran region.
From 10 Generals 8 of them are Tigrayans.

They can just fly their airplanes to some where else and seek refugee status or face what ever comes as a result of refusing killing innocent civilians. It is sad to see these brave guys go thorough this. All the Men did what they had to keep Ethiopia from being where it is today. But, they had it comming. Only if they had fought instead of letting this WONBEDES walk from Nakfa straight to Addis. I was only a kid and in Bahirdar when Woyane took over in the early 90s, but I remember vividly how the DERG just run demorolised while the Woyannes and Shabias walked in the city unchallenged. I still have one question that I havent found answer for, what were they high DERG officials expecting from Woyane and Shabia, where they really thinking to share power? Or were they just tired of fighting? Whatever it is am pretty sure they had enough time to think about what they did to Ethiopia; they left us defenseless?

None of those people deserve death or life inprisonment.They were in the military they had to take order and did what they asked to do.There are so many who are responsible for many lives that perished for years.Melesse,Isayas,Mengistu and their followers are the main responsible for thousands if not millions lives.I hope those military men will be free and live their lives.I don't sympthoize for member of the Derg as far as they are in prison I don't have a problem but I can't wait to see the present killers to join the Derg members.
