To sever relationship with oil rich country at this critical time of oil shortages is more damaging to the economy of the undeveloped country that cannot even feed its own people and cannot live in peace with its neighbor countries. The Woyanne regime has surrounded itself with enemies inside and outside the realm of its territories. The tension between Ethiopia and Eritrea is going to explode at any time; in fact, the invasion of Djibouti’s territories by Eritrea recently is an omen for Ethiopia that war between Ethiopia and Eritrea is imminent whether we like it or not.

Eritrea can take the conflict between Somalia and Ethiopia as a great advantage for confronting a weak Woyanne government, so it is a bad move that the Woyanne regime has severed the old relation between its government and the oil rich Arab country –Qatar. This bad step taken by the Woyanne regime against Qatar will make Qatar’s relationship with Eritrea stronger than ever, and incase a conflict starts between Ethiopia and Eritrea, Qatar would easily finance Eritrea’s war against Ethiopia, unless the United States put its heavy pressure on its one of Arab friends – Qatar – not to help Eritrea, a suspect of terrorists’ attack on Somalia. On the other hand, if Eritrea succeeds in taking Djibouti, then Eritrea will have three seaports and Ethiopia nothing, but I don’t think the French will allow Djibouti to fall into the hands of the former Italian colony – Eritrea. The French influence in Djibouti is very high rather than the Italian influence on Eritrea. When such conflict begins between Ethiopia and Eritrea, the United States would step in into the aid of Ethiopia because of Meles’ close tie with the Bush administration.

tariku,
I saw the $55.07 Billion also. But, I assume it must be a typo for I do not believe Ethiopia's GDP any more than $55.

"...over six years of no war no peace situation with a former province which has resulted in the death of thousands of citizens and is facing civil disturbance in most of the country..."says Yilma.

Did you say "former province"? Man, why don't you swallow the bitter pill? What is wrong if you call the "former province" by its name, Eritrea.

Leaving that aside, the TPLF's behaviour shouldn't be new to anyone. These leaders are simply irrational and backward people. The main reason they severed diplomatic relation (if there was any, that is) is because they thought Eritrea is surviving and has become a pain in the a** for them due to the generous financial contribution it is getting from Qatar. All Weyane dreams is about Eritrea and Shaebia. They relate everything with Eritrea and Shaebia.

The reason they are accusing Qatar of irrelevant things is precisley the same reason why they keep on blaming Eritrea for anything and everything they don't like. they are clueless of what they are doing and hopless bastards that they are all they drream is of destroying the whole Horn region before their own demise.

Well said, Ato Yilma. I believe you captured the illogic of TPLF's erratic behavior well.

(TPLF, by the way, stands for Thugs, Parasites, Liars and Fascists.)

They are clearly upset by Aljazeera reporting of the ongoing slaughter of our Somali brothers and sisters in the Ogaden.

The minority regime is especially upset that the Ethiopian people are finding out what "their" government is doing in their name.

Don't be surprised if TPLF charges the Qatari government with "genocide," a charge casually bandied about against anyone who does anything these thugs don't like.
