Mekele resident says food prices low for party supporters

May 19th, 2008 |  |  11 Comments

In an interview with Ethiopian Current Affairs Discussion Forum (ECADF) Sunday, a resident of Mekele said that food prices are skyrocketing in Tigray region except for party supporters. The elderly gentleman, whose house was confisicated by the Tigray region government, said that one quintal (100 kg) of teff in Mekele costs 900 birr, but Woyanne supporters are provided with food at much lower prices. Such lasting witness and the appalling weyane atrocities must be documented. As the saying goes “Semahu yakerakeral, Ayehu yamesakeral”. The atrocities committed by Weyane and its sympathizers will not left unpunished. The world is changing and becoming less tolerant of Tyrants like the Meles regime. However, if we do not have a chronological eye witness account of these atrocities documented and compiled it will be a struggle to prove things in a court of law.
We then need to list daily atrocities that are being committed by the weyane regime with the help of video, audio, text and sound bites. This will help our case when the Day of Judgment comes!

In the house of the crimefamily of that Meles Naziawi everything is in plenty and money is spent extravangantly; however, in the rest of the family of Ethiopians, life is hard and food items are out of reach.

The land they occupied by force and the citizens they loot and rob at gun point are depleted and murdered. These lootersf and murderers are soon to be captured and face the ultimate justice.

Expose not only TPLF members who are abusing the people but all the EPRDF members in all the kilili. For too long by focussing on TPLF ER appears to say it does not matter. Please know on what to focus. All teactics no strategy is no good.

What do you expect? TPLF people and their hired guns are hodam pigs, who care only about filling own their bellies. And since their bellies are full, they try to tell us Ethiopia’s agricultural production is growing in double digits, without caring about the starving majority. In fact, it’s TPLF people and their hired guns bellies that have grown in double digits, not the real food production in Ethiopia.

    Elias,
    Why are you confusing people?
You were saying that food price is still cheaper in Tigray, despite skyrocketing in other parts of Ethiopia.

  9. Raya says:

Dear Elias-the liar of all liars!
I live in Mekelle and the recent price hiking is not exceptional to non-TPLF members. It is a global phenomenon happening in West Africa, East Africa, North Africa, and Southern Africa, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. You will continue to create havoc on the innocent Ethiopian people.

  10. Hagos Araya says:

Here is a typical example, weyane is not supported by the majority of tigrians as many weyane cadres and some ignorant and emotional oppositions say. Especially, those few unmatured people that oppose weyane should stop attacking the ethnic group and only focus on the main enemy weyane. When we attack the ethnic group we are making a big place for weyane to get a support from the people he wants. However, the fact is it is a simple strategy created by weyane divide and rule and make as a victim of his poor ideology. So, lets get out from ethnic politics that weyane cultivated fro us and keep counter attacking only and only the weyane as a regime. Let’s not wait to get another witness on this situation, since the teacher had spoken on behalf of many tigrians that are unrespected by weyane. Ofcourse, it seems like many tigrians are supporters of weyane especially in diaspora, but the fact is those few tigrians cant represent many other millions of tigrians that are suffering with weyane regime. Those few are only cadres that are gaining only money and power from weyane, while weyane is typically led by non-tigrian people like meles and berket that have no respect and care for the tigrian people.

I agree with the opinion of (guest) all EPRDF and their family remembers that are raping, torturing and killing our people and pillaging the land; their action should be recorded and documented.
