Woyanne offers to evacuate Ethiopians from South Africa

May 29th, 2008 |  |  9 Comments

The Ethiopian embassy in South Africa that is currently occupied by the Tigrean People Liberation Front (Woyanne) has told Ethiopians in South Africa that it can help with evacuation if they wish to escape the anti-immigrant violence that is sweeping the country. But Ethiopian refugees went to South Africa in the first place because the Woyanne fascist regime made it impossible for them to live in their own country.

Thousands of Ethiopians, Somalis, Zimbabweans and other Africans are currently being savagely attacked by South Africans who are blaming the immigrants for their economic woes. The South African government has made half-hearted effort to stop this shameful act by its citizens.

Ethiopian embassy is ready to evacuate nationals from South Africa following anti-immigrant violence there which has killed 56 people, the foreign ministry said on Thursday.

“The embassy in South Africa has announced its readiness to work together with the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) if Ethiopians want to return home,” it said in a statement.

Tens of thousands of mainly Zimbabwean and Mozambican immigrants have been forced out of their homes since the onset of xenophobic violence.

Foreigners in the continental powerhouse South Africa, many of whom have fled economic meltdown in neighbouring Zimbabwe, are being blamed for sky-high crime rates and depriving locals of jobs.

Why can’t woyane get the innocent Ethiopians who are suffering in Sudanese prison for the unheard crime of tilling their own land. Woyane knows, Ethiopians in South Africa are staunch supporters of the opposition and is trying to take advantage of this opportunity to silence them. Even graduates of dedebit can figure this one out easily.

Guys, dont mix everything together. Woyane is in charge of ethiopian affairs. I didnt even expected from them to do this. If they did, i can say bravo. When they did good stuff, lets not accuse them for doing so. If they kept quite, what was our comment? I am sure we accuse them. woyane is not a good government to begin with, please lets not accuse them for everything. If they realy mean it, this might be the begining of good thing out of woyane.

May be it would have been better for SA to stay in aparthied. Did they forgot that the whole world specially Ethiopia were on the frontlines towards their freedom. Mandela has also credited us for doing so in his book. May be the generation is not cleard its mind from slavery yet.

What do you expect from govrnment? even thuogh the current government is very much hated by the people of Ethiopia due to it’s dictator behaviour it is a posetive offering for the Ethiopian people who live under fear of massacer. Do we offer them something? do we have organized ourself to help them out? obviously the answer is no. So why we are bleming the government on every thing. I personally not support the current government in a lot of issues, regarding the the action it took in south Africa is commended and deserve appreciation. Lets think! what we want when goverment doing good stuff for it’s citzen deserves encouragement. Let’s not block our minds.

It is obvious that weyane would not stop damaging Ethiopia and its people. Weyane’s ultimate goal is to damage the Ethiopian people. Weyane strives very hard day and night inside and out side of the country using his paid stupid Banda cadres to eradicate Ethiopia. However, talking weyane’s damage is not much important, the best thing is to ask our seleves questions like what have I done to stop the weyane atrocities so far? What is my contribution should be to stop the weyane crimes? And what is the best way to strengthen our unity to fight weyane?
One thing I want to mention, Elias God bless you, I visit most Ethiopian websites in a dailiy basis. You are one of the most outstanding people who keep revealing the truth about weyane, where as I just visited ethiolion, guess what? They still beat Dr. Birhanu and Andargachew while they are floating many lies about the deadly stand hailu shawel. While our people need a significant response from us since the highly rocketing inflation has gotton to the saturation point along with the harassment of weyane. I also want to appreciate EMf, Ethio media and other strong opposition websites, radio shows and other Medias for working very hard day and night.
