British Members of Parliament call the Meles regime 'wicked'

June 18th, 2008 |  |  23 Comments

Harry Cohen, a British Member of Parliament, is circulating the following petition among his colleagues that condemns the atroticites of Ethiopia's brutal dictatorship led by Meles Zenawi and his Tigrean People Liberation Front (Woyanne).

Petition:

That this House is concerned at the new drought and famine in Ethiopia; and, whilst favouring aid to those innocent civilians including children affected, records its condemnation, in such circumstances, of the Ethiopian government for its war policy which led it to invade and be the principal occupying force in neighbouring Somalia where it has established a warlord regime creating more refugees and human carnage there than in Darfur; expresses disapproval that the Ethiopian government was encouraged and financed to do this by the US and UK governments; and considers it a wicked regime that invests its resources in such wars rather than feeding its own people. Keep it coming! Meles is the most deceptive person ever created in this planet. He will one day exposed naked! Meles is like decorated cemetery-once that cemetry is unearthed there is a rotten body there…that is meles' persona and his government. He run his government by deception however deception could only help you for a while because at the end of the day the truth will shine!
for instance once meles asked by times in regard to the gross human rights violation in Ogadien and his troops atrocities: he said let a lone a village we haven't even burned a single :hut". Wel now thanks to GP and Sattelite system..his rampage and burnings are out open for the entire world to see!! Just the way the sattelite exposed him…one day all his eveil actions will be exposed…then where will he hide? Meles needs no to far but see where mengistu ended!!

I was so depressed today for not getting any encouraging news from my Ethiopian friends about UDJ and especially after I read ER statements about the new UDJ, but now I’m very elated to hear that the honorable British parliamentarians condemn Dictator Meles Zenawi and acknowledge his atrocities on his own people and especially on our Somali friends. They have also denounced the U. S. and the British governments for supporting Meles Seitanawi financially and politically. We need more Congress persons from the United States to denounce this wicked man – Meles Seitanawi. By now Meles must know that his days are numbered, his children are frightened, and his wife must be seeking an asylum, perhaps in Zimbabwe.

Melese deserves not only condemnation but also has to face trial for having deliberatly used the famine as plitical weapon to decimate the Ethiopian people particularly the
oromos,Amharas ,somalis and southern Ethiopians. Thus it is high time for all Ethiopians to close rank and fight the woyane Hitlerite group to death before too late.

The dictator's days are numbered on a daily basis; I am glad the house of commons and the house of lords of the British parliament is closing in on grand dictator meles and co. The clueless dictator, out of touch from the Ethiopian public on host of issues has the audacity and the temarity to give away our God given large tracts of land that can easily feed millions of our people year after year. I am hoping these civilized men of law will take the next step and address him as dictator and you know Britons can't stand dictators and despots and as a result it will be a far fetched dream for our dictator to even consider geting a penny from the good people of Great Briton.

This is a bright day under the British skies!

Let us continue marching,my comrades, singing our freedom songs louder than ever.

More people hear our freedom songs.More people join us while singing.

The freedom-loving George Galloway, in the mother of parliaments, sang our song.He beutifully did it.

His noble friends have now joined him and the world is hearing their divine choral symphony for the emancipation of mother Ethiopia.

Thank you on behalf of the voiceless mothers whose children are dying of starvation.

Thank you on behalf of the voiceless fathers whose children have been snatched away from them and thrown into jails, tortured and murdered in broad day light.

Thank you on behalf of all those who yearn for a democratic future for our country and fight for freedom from the most brutal and corrupt dictatorship in our recent history.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you a million times!

  13. The anonymous says:

We all are Ethiopians and we all are humans. Why we can not be human and Ethiopians. I know people have limitations and we may not have capacity to make changes that we wanted. But I do not understand why we can not show regard and respect to our neigbbor, our brother and sisters, the little we can.

I can see two groups in Ethiopian life which are detached one another rather they should have been attached. The current government and the people are not moving on the same direction.

Few people are forcefully pulling the public into their side while the public strecthes away from them. The government see any question of the public with anxiety and negatively. He did not honestly hear the public problem. What they are looking is something hidden behind the question.

They do not know what they are searching unless they created it. Once they created, they can not get rest with it. They are always search what they could not find.

Basic reason for attrocities and genocide. We are asking better life and respect for human rights from the government. That is all. If they can, good. if they do not give for those who can. That is it.

Do not play dangerous game with your family. We all are one family (bounded by the space named Ethiopia). We should all lend hands to those people who fight for respect for Human right.

Brithish MP Good job. It is a great contribution to Ethiopian Struggle to strive for healthy political life.

  16. Kumsaa says:

We should continue campaigning individually and collectively to facilitate the demise of the African Hitler, Meles and his murderous Maoist junta. We should contact human rights groups, journalists, academicians and politicians wherever we are. The majority of people in the West have no clue about the crimes of the tyrant and it is the responsibility of the diaspora who is free from the tentacles of the murderous security of TPLF to expose the crime against humanity perpetrated by TPLF troops and its leaders both in neighbouring countries and in Ethiopia.

  17. Manalebish says:

All Ethiopians everywhere in Europe have to work hard to provide facts and figures to the EU and respective European countries to sensitize the legislators about the current situation of Ethiopia.

We should congratulate Ethiopians in the UK who must have contributed much to educate the British MPs about the plight of their people, which has resulted in writing a petition.

Apart from going out on demonstrations this kind of behind the scene diplomatic work is what will yield results.

Give out flyers and articles written by our scholars on Ethiopia's current political and economic situation, to passers by, your colleagues at your work place, to local medias, public parks, etc… those of you in London, go to Hyde Park Corner and create a platform to air your views.

All our endeavours will not be in vain! With courage and determination we shall get there, Inshi Allah!!

  18. Somali Freedom Fighter says:

Many people are doing there part in exposing Meles Zenawi for the war criminal he is. Some like the Uk MPs are doing it by talking about it, the Somali people are standing up and fighting the evil regimes. And the only one left is the people of Ethiopia to stand up for themself and complete the puzzle.

    WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN????

  20. wiil_jijiga says:

TPLF cares little about the plight of ethiopians.the proof is the tactics they were using last two decades, chasing NGOs,hiding the scale of the starvation, rising the budget of the militry while civilians are starving, imposing sanction on parts of the country. Unfortunatly there was no a blink from the WEST so far. SHAME ON THE WEST and their double standardness..
