Ethiopian delegation left for China to learn democratization

July 13th, 2008 |  |  20 Comments

Learn democratization from China? This must be joke of the week.

(ENA) – A high level Ethiopian delegation led by speaker of the House of Peoples’ Representatives Ambassador Teshome Toga left for Beijing, China, later on Wednesday for a working visit.

The delegation is expected to draw useful experiences from its Chinese counterparts and brief Ethiopia’s democratization and development activities during its stay in China.

The delegation headed for China as per the invitation of the China’s National Congress Speaker.

The visit is expected to further enhance parliamentary relations between the two countries.

  3. YEah says:

The thing is that if the want to go to Western countries to learn democratization, they have to start from “zero Kifl” and they might not graduate…as most of them are …you know. But in China, they may even graduate early (double classes). As such the trip includes a stop in Syria, North Korea, Iran, Zimbabwe , Belorussia. Teshome Toga has to go somewhere for summer vacation…so what is the surprise?

  4. Assta B. Gettu says:

China’s democracy is much better than the Woyanne’s democracy; in China, more people are getting richer and richer, but in Ethiopian, more Ethiopians are getting poorer and poorer. In China, the population is under control, while in Ethiopia, plans to control the population explosion have not yet drafted. The more than a billion Chinese still have enough food to eat and millions of schools to send their children to; on the other hand, many Ethiopian children do not have adequate schools to go to, so it is a good move for Meles Zenawi to send an Ethiopian delegation to China to learn some wisdom from the Chinese people.

It is also correct to say that Meles is getting tired of being subservient to the West, and he is thinking that he has learned nothing from the West except getting some money as a hand out from the West; his second reasoning is that if the West does not give him more money, he is demonstrating that he will be subservient to the Chinese government rather than to the West, so he is putting the West in an awkward position. I’m sure, the West will never let him go, and they will offer him more money until they will replace him by another western-minded Ethiopian.

More over, Meles has been fascinated by the skills of the Chinese officials who are able to govern such a big number of people for a long time while Meles and his political gangs are unable to rule just a few millions of Ethiopians for 17 years. Through the Ethiopian delegation to China, Meles is going to learn the art of governing people without transferring his leadership to another democratically elected Ethiopian.

  5. Ridicolous says:

No doubt the majority of Ethiopians want to get rid of the Meles Zenawi’s dictatorial regime and to bring a genuine democratic change guided by the rule of law and and parliamentary democracy. However, it’s an insult to our intelligence to say that Meles Zenawi, one of the world’s most brutal and repressive dictators, is sending his cadres to Asia to learn about democracy from the communist dictatorship of China. Needlessly to say Ethiopia has become the laughing stock of the world because of the Meles regime.

  6. Abeba says:

The Ethiopian dictatorship is so terrified deep down to its sinful bones and souls and in complete panic after serious allegattions started circulating about the capture of the professional serial killer of Africa, Omar Al Beshir to face justice.

The Ethiopian killers are running to China with their hearts in their mouth for protection against justice.

China is currently funding and actively training Al Bashir’s death squads to massacar hundreds upon thousands of poor Sudanese Africans with millions being forcefully dispalced and being butchered in subhuman refugee camps.

Are the over 1.3 billion resource hungry Chinese coming with death and distruction to colonize natural resource rich Africa hiding behind and supporting genocidal puppets?

  7. Good but..... says:

If they have brain they lear a thing or two about what matters to the people. Democracy works differently for every country according to their tradition and costume and it is good to see TPLF is willing to learn but it is a little bit too late for the Thugs: their hand is soaked with innocent blood of Ethiopians.

  9. germognal says:

Ethiopians going to China to learn about democratization? Give me a break! That must be a joke! What do the Chinese know about democratization?

I would rather die in the hands of Westerners and the Americans rather than learn about democracy from the Chinese. These are people who continuosly say mean things about black people; these are people who never hire other races other than theirs; these are people who always think, unjustifiably, they are the smartest and others are ignorant; these are people who treat all minorities as thieves and follow them closely when shopping in their stores; these are people who arrest and detain their own people for speaking up and seeking democracy.

Now, you tell me you are going to China to learn about democratization? I am sorry, that is a compete garbage! I would rather have Westerners and the Americans teach me about democracy despite the fact they are imperfect, in some instances.

As Ethiopians say, ” A known Devil is much better than an unknown Angel.”

From the Chinese, all the Ethiopians need is the Chinese technolgy, their economic help, and their food. Their democracy and their culture, I ask the Chinese to stick those in ther drawers.

    Thanks!

No matter how long weyane learned the term democracy they never understand how to apply it…what an idiot mentality weyane’s have?
