Waqtola,
The point is though, why use fertile ground that can produce food for human consumption when the fuel generating plants could be grown somewhere else where it may not be conducive for food.

Bio fuel has devastating effect on the price food!!!

So what? It is business;it is about 'limat.' Does anybody think that Ethiopia is immune to the scaringly soaring petrol price? Is it wrong to try to mitigate this global problem with all one can do locally? Besides, the direct connection b/n food and oil prices should be digested.
Ethiopia may have the oil, but many thanks to these liberation fronts which are very strong only to devastate any attempt to use the oil.It is not b/c the fronts are strong, their strength stems from our sceintific and economic incapabailities to go and drill it by ourselves what our forefathers heroically protected for centuries for us. You know it is very easy to destroy than to build.

Elias, any effort to produce something and somewhere in Ethiopia needs support and encouragement. No thing ugly in it!

Woyane never cares for the people. While coutries like India and veitnam stop exporting rice to feed their people properly, Woyane esports everything including teff and "bekolo".

There is no enough food in Ethiopia and any responsible government should encourage private capital to produce more food items (such as wheat, corn, teff, peas and beens and oil seeds). Instead, woyane is encouraging investors to go to more "flower production". What woyane wants is the dollar from the sell of flowers in foreign markets. They don't care about starvation in the country. What do the Ethiopian people get from the dollars those flower sales bring? Nothing. It is pocketed by woyane mafia and few greedy traders. The Ethiopian people do not get a penny from those flower slaes.

The same thing is in elctricity service. Every major city now gets electricty by shift. Almost 3 days in a week there is no elctricty in most Ethiopian towns. Guess what! woyane is talking with Kenya to "export" electricty!

And now the Ethnol fuel production from "Grains", even taking more land out of food production. That is why many Ethiopians argue this government is a "cancer" and it shpuld be removed by any means as soon as possible!
