The writer raised a legitimate question, but illegitimate government, the MAFIA group of TPLF leadership has never been accountable for anything. One thing the writer got it wrong is that TPLF leaders they didn’t come to power empty handed. At least they had more than 1 billion (US dollar) when they come to power in 1991. They got this money on behalf of starving Tigreans during 1984 from international community. During the 1984 famine TPLF leadership got Money, food, and medical supply from international community. They made to walk the starving Tigreans all the way to SUDAN and show the representative of NGOs. Many thousands of Tigreans died on the way to SUDAN. Even the people who made it didn’t get food from TPLF, unless they supported TPLF they were left to die. Also, the buses, military trucks, and anything they snatched from the DERG was sold to SUDAN merchants. Don’t forget they used to robe banks too.

Don’t you all forget: its not ONLY the weyanes milking Ethiopian to the bone and stashing millions of dollars abroad! how about all of the NGO’s who represented “Ethiopia and Ethiopians” who qualified Ethiopians for billions of dollars of aid from the donor countries- which in return created hunger but hunger, how about all the Eritrean traitors who are advising Meles day-in and day out with hundreds of dollars, how about the lobbyist who are representing Meles at $50,000 dollars in the state department! my fellow Ethiopians- – its frightening when you think the crime that is being committed against the innocent Ethiopian people by the crime family of weyane when the average Ethiopian is bombarded with weyane propoganda machine on how Ethiopian is advancing at 10-11% growth yearly, it frightening the extent damage by the crime family to all Ethiopians, its frightening everything these thugs do for survival- but there is only only one solution to all of these problems. All EPRDF members must be identified and the Ethiopian people must stand up against their criminal activities; otherwise what good would it do wether the officials of weyane disclose their asset or not when they have the whole Ethiopia as their play ground and a hostage!

Joe, you are right. They should have disclosed their assets before taking office. But, in a country where the judiciary and the legislature is under the grips of one man, why should they care to declare their assets. Asset declaration is for democratic regimes not for an authoritarian most corrupt regime like the one in Ethiopia now.
They are looting the country left right and centre and you think they would care to account for? Accountability comes under a democratic government. We are watching them. Ethiopians are naturally bright people and know what is going on but, are waiting for the right time to strike!
That day will not be too far, Enshi Allah!

Don’t fool your self. The west are well placed to know the complete assets of weyane. So stop adding insult to injurie.

As an Eritrean, we are concerned by two things, first of all weyane has to go out from the Eritrean territories. There is border issue any more, it is resolved for ever! Second weyane has to get lost, to dissapear, so that we can restart a civilized, intelligent and smart ecomomical and political relationship in the Horn of Africa as whole.

TPLF leaders were awarded 500 Sq.m og land around bole and 500,000 Birr for house construction and another 500,000 Birr loan without interest. Now their house is being leased 20,0000 to 40,000 per month for international agencies and for their expatriate staff.This privilage was approved my woyanee leader Meles zenawi and the beneficiaries are any Woyane offcial with a minimum of 5 year of service. After prominent officials secured the land and the money , it was stopped . Now the offcials think that they have got their wealth legally and continue to embezzle the people of ethiopia.

Why would they disclose it “voluntarily”? It is like asking a “lieba” to disclose his loot! I think it such naive writers like the writer of this article that are complicating things in Ethiopia. This writer should have known that the Weyanes are ruling the country illegally and everything they do can not be expected to be with any law and regulations. Now, it is an open secret that they have been building their personal asset and that of Tigrai all at the expense of the rest of Ethiopia. It is also “yemeda misTir” that they have companies that exclusively belong to TPLF. It should also be clear to anyone who has ears to hear and eyes to see the Weyane have been challenging all of us and in most cases dare us to challenge them by doing what they wanted to do! We have not challenged them where it matters – dethrone them from power. It is very unlikely that we are even supporting our freedom fighters on the field by contributing as we should. Frankly, most of us do not even know who our friend is and who our enemy is. I say, enough is enough and let’s stop the talk and do some walk the talk. I can’t believe how an Ethiopian can expect the Weyanes to voluntarily disclose any of their information when we know darn well they came to power by the barrel of the gun and they have despised us and sput on our face by refusing to abide by the rule of law. So, Joe, please don’t make a full of yourself and insult our intelligence by pretending that Weyane can be talked to disclose some of its criminal activities.

Joe you are completely right in all respect and I had to agree with you, with the fact that the TPLF criminal group owns a number of companies, business in Ethiopia and abroad as well, they have now millions of money everywhere that has been continuously stolen from Ethiopia ….
