It is quite absurd for you to think of Abreha Belay the person you have made him to be. How you who ride a horse emotions and you who kill a tarantula with a bullet, feel to have possessed moral fitness to speak of Abreha Belay is indeed astounding. No one like Abreha Belay has come up with a thorough political analysis of the current government. He has very much contributed to our candid and clear understanding of the current government. He has vehemently opposed and exposed the hidden plans of the Meles-Sebhat octopus. In some cases however, he has allowed some pieces of writings that echo the divide-rule principles of Meles that came from some corners. I believe this was done probably without awareness.
Elias, you want to fight Meles with any thing in your hand regardless of the efficacy and efficiency of it. That is the reason why I said, your are riding a horse of emotions. "YobaTun Yoqoten" Remember politics has also its own discipline that if not followed can make it fail miserably. Politics has its own ethos that if not followed it can bring "political kisara." Abreha Belay does not see any hostility between Isayas and Meles, where as you, you are running from one dog to another dog of the same kind to get help.
That really is the difference between the two of you.

I could not imagine such a person like Hagos Arya becomes arrogant and rude. I am not surprised, his backgroud plays a big role. As a last reminder; let us make it part of our culture that we can make our critisisms without using rubbbish and insultive language.
Insults do not help you to convey anything, only shows your baseless hatred and hidden agenda.

Seye Abraha reminds me of Zuma – well liked by his people in Tigray; accused of corruption but he denies it (he may be right); Just like Zuma, those who are now in power are afraid of him; he will certainly replace Meles whatever residual power TPLF will have when "kifu ken comes". He may even become a Prime Minister during the political tarnsition which we will certainly have very soon and which will be a smart move for him to re-ethiopianize his soul and vision. In sum, Seye's impact (both positive and negative) on the Ethiopian political landscape is too early to assess.

Guess who is the most influential figure out of the list. In my opinion in Ethiopia as well as abroad,in different nationalities or followers of different religions, in the old alike in the youth,in the educated or in the illiterate circle and in countryside and as well as in towns no one has made a profound impact nowadays other than the popular artist and living icon Tedi afro who is now accused and jailed in solitary cell for unfounded charges !!!

Mr Hagos Araya. Forget having a follower; are Hailu Shawel and Taye alive? I did not know. I mean…Hailu's followers! Who are they? I am not denying that he is one of the best among Ethiopian children…but his followers are the good whether friends…no one in the countryside even in his birthplace rebelled when Meles put him in prison for 2 years. However, there were many artificial city supporters here in foreign land and in Addis thinking that he would be the next leader. Do not be mistaken people who sacrificed for kinjiet are not a follower. They are leader themselves. True Leader never shy way from death. You and me shall follow them.

Elias you have done really a wonderful job. The document, beyond its informatory nature, provides an accurate description of the deeds of the personalities listed.
I had a few dissension with the ranking though.

1. Ranking Teddy behind Kenanisa and Trunesh is an insult to Teddy and his over a million fans. He is unarguably, the most ethiopian loving artist ever. In my opinion teddy is more influencial than these two atheletes. He is in the heart and minds of true ethiopians. This, by the way, is not an attempt to belittle the influence of the great Kenanisa and Trunesh.

2.How come Dr. Birhanu be ranked 15th. I just dont get it. As far as I am concerened he is as infleuntial as the corrupt woyanes. He is a very popular figure in ethiopian politics. I think it is only a matter of time for him and his movement to prove how much worth and influencial he is!

3. I dont see how Liya kebede make it to this list. In what sense did/does she influences ethiopians is a puzzle to me.
I got one question for you elias, did she ever visited ethipia in the past five years?????

Anyway, that was an oustanding work dear Elias.

I have to agree with most of the guys, who are able to make it in the list. But I don't agree in the order of which the guys are listed. Berhanu Nega should be listed next to Melese. Also, Abebe Belew & Tamagne Beyene? Really. Do they deserve to make it in the list. I am sure more than 90% of Ethiopian population never heard of thier name in the last year, if not ever. How come Abebe and Tamagne can be infulential?
