You writing is eloquent and readable, it also lacks reality, yes the election of Mr. Obama as the 44th president of the US is exciting news to Americans and by extension the rest of the world but his election alone will not change Ethiopia or force Woyanne out of power, that is just pipe dream.

Please go back and read history, US foreign policy has been consitent since the end of WWII, US national interest is the driving force for US foreign policy and US national interst is installing puppet regimes who follow US dictates, no matter what party is in power. As an Erirean I can tell you it is a fact because no other nation on earth was victimized by US foreing policy more than Eritrea, in 1952 the US through the UN forced Eritrea to federate with Ethiopia, in 1962 the US enabled emperor Haile Selassie to annex Eritrea in violation of the articles of federation written by the UN under US sponsorship, in exchange of a two military bases in Erirea.

When Dergh came to power the US watched from the sidelines while the Dergh with the help of the then Soviet Union embarked on annihilating the people of Eritrea starting in 1977, when the people of Eritrea led by the EPLF stunned the whole world by defeating the pride of the Dergh junta's Nadew Iz in 1988 the US with intiative by ex-president Carter scurried to save the Dergh from total defeat in Eritrea by sponsoring peace talks in Atlanta but the principled EPLF didn't accept Carter's demands that the Eritrean people accept a phony autonomy by the Dergh, in 1991 the EPLF liberated Eritrea and helped the EPRDF led by TPLF get to Addis Ababa. Even then US envoys did their best to keep Eritrea attached to Ethiopia by calling for peace talks in London but Eritreans refused to bow to US demands and affirmed their indepence by calling for a referendum that the Dergh opposed in May 1993.

In 1998 with the prodding of the Clinton administration Woyanne claimed a phony invasion by Eritrea and started a war that lasted three years to destory Eritrea and fulfill America's desire to destroy a free nation that doesn't bow down to US interests. The rest is history for all to see.

Now that Obama is in power the US policy will not change, Woyanne will stay their puppet only their modus operandi will change. So please stop dreaming and let the people of Ethiopia who are in a life and death fight against TPLF, the prime US puppet fight for true freedom. Freedom doesn't come because a US president wants it for the Ethiopian people, on the Ethiopian people can fight and regain their freedom, build a united, prosperous and peaceful nation of their own.
