According to ethnography of Ethiopia, Ethiopia is a country of 82 ethnic groups. Among them Oromo is more or less 40% . Well ethiopianreview get real and learn Ethiopia 101. Long gone Ethiopia synonyms with Amharic/Amhara. I would like to tell you that I am not Tigre, I am Oromo. I hate the present Ethiopian regime the same way you do but when I see how progressive they are in comparison to you guys. No wonder they are still in power. It is your arrogance and ignorance that make easier for Meles to rule. When do you start learning the true Ethiopian composition of Ethiopia you seem to love?

From what I see, these are really Top 10.
Thanks Elias

I have a comment on the name of the singer in the video of Tadele Roba bati and Bluese. It is not Fantu Mandoye. Rather It is a lady called Fanta.

hahaha,
I would have fully agreed with your selection, had your title been top ten Amharic Video of 2008. There are wonderful videos from other languages as well.
Wow, Teddy's "abebayosh" is a master class. I should say it isn't in the same league with the other musics.
Lastly, Elias , I am surprised that U have a good test of music. I would have admired you, had not been for confused and outdated stand about "Ethiopianism".

To #1:
Just relax, come down and don't be jelous man. It is true that Amharic is the national language of Ethiopia and is being spoken by more than 50% of the people. So, it doesnot mean that every one singing in Amharic is Amhara. Any way Ethnocenteric thinking is not good except for the woyanne regime.
I don't mind whether the ER editorial people understand Amharic more than other languages, but what matters is their attitude towards the whole nation.

There are a variety of music videos available on the Internet. Each visitor can listen to and watch one of these music videos without any restrictions. Each time a visitor clicks on a particular song, a counter pertaining to this specific song, will be updated. By doing so the counter shows, at a particular moment, how often a particular song has been played. The "Top 10″ lists only the 10 most popular songs played by the majority of web users.
So it has nothing to do with the ethnic background of the songs.

Nice videos. Good work. I have to mention that in your choice No. 4, you get the singer's name worng. The singer who sings along Tadele Roba is not Fantu Mandoye and I don't see Fantu Mandoye anywhere in the clip. Also I only see Zeritu on stage moveing here and there in your choice No. 8. It shouldn't be included in the list.
Thanks

I used to "not like" Tadele. I used to think that he is one of the persons who is spoiling our music, that he does not original creativity, and that he is a bad model to our sons and daughters. With the above music he won my heart. Who is the other guy who usually sings with him? – Berehanu – he is "gulbea"; he does not know how to sing.

When do the people of these country learn equality love and peace? When do you stop selfishness over others?Just tell me when do stop?

Look at Abegas pretending playing piano at 5:52 in Gosaye and Ephrem's song. I really love it.
December 14th, 2008 at 5:54 PM

December 14th, 2008 at 6:54 PM

December 14th, 2008 at 7:13 PM
The following OROMO music is in line with the #7 of the top ten chosen.
It seems they share video clips.
December 14th, 2008 at 7:24 PM

Enjoy and next time try to be fair and balanced.

I just like to say that this is a marvelous job, collecting and presenting them in such a fashion. For the guy with the oromo comment, I think you are ignorant and narrrow minded like the woyane government. Lastly, Free Teddy Afro!
December 14th, 2008 at 11:14 PM
Nice choice,i love them all!!
However some of them were released in 2007.Video 1,2,5,8,9 were made before 2008. ER,just becuase you guys saw these clips in '08 does not mean they were released in this year.

December 15th, 2008 at 3:56 AM
sorry
2,3, and 8 are bad choices! Importing the worst US culture to Ethiopia is realy sickening!
December 15th, 2008 at 3:33 PM
Teddy Afro said what needed to be said.Luckily he don't need Woyane financially to exist. The rest of us will starve to death if we said half of the things he said or the truth about Woyane. As we all know some countries like USA gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to Woyane every year.So I urge diaspora people in the NAME OF THE POOR AND THE AFFLICTED honest Ethiopian children please don't pay taxes in the USA because it is your tax dollar that is buying guns to woyane and geting your mother and brother raped and father killed.Whole country destroyed. Also please Tell your local Government not to give money to Woyane.
December 15th, 2008 at 7:39 PM
some of the compliments made were valid esp. the representation of all ethnic groups. Let's celebrate our diversity and be inclusive of all our people not for political reasons but for appreciation of our vibrant and diverse culture. That is what makes us strong and can help us fight our common enemy – POVERTY.
December 15th, 2008 at 9:55 PM
You guys made a marbles job about the selection of top 10 music.I agree 80 percet the choise you guys made because it did not base on the ethnic group only. This make every one feel happy and united as one nation. I do love the 2 Amharic music. In my opinon, the # 4 and 8 should not be this catagory. There are other tereffic songs better than those. This how i feel i am not crisaze you guys.
Thank you.
God bless Ethiopia and U.S.A.

NICE CREATIVITY FOR THE NUMBER 4 AND GOOD MOVE BY THE LADIES.
December 16th, 2008 at 6:45 AM
Thanks Elias(Ethiopian Review) for everything you do. I agree with many other people who commented on the videos. This year there have been lots of videos which can easily beat some of your top 10 vids.Let's not forget Kemer Yesuf(I don't know how to spell his name)And Gossaye n Efrem vid should have been at least number 2.
December 16th, 2008 at 10:17 AM
I like 3 most. She skinny black cute girl, she get the move .I can not stop to listening.
December 16th, 2008 at 10:49 AM
Elias;
As far as I know, more than half of the chosen music videaos are belonging to 2007.
Only # 10, #7, #4 and #3 belong to 2008.
Cheers
December 16th, 2008 at 5:27 PM

Bati and bluse is the second best in my perspective. My great admiration goes to the directo Nebiyu Simergeta and the Superstars Tadele and Fantu. The lady really got "wef argafiw dimts " .Her splendid voice, the background rhythm of the music together with Tadel's act make the show astonshing ( abo mode allachehu!!).What a woderful show by the whole team!!!
