OK now u ppl need to understand this Pro.Mesfin was a pathological LIER from the get go.when it is convineint for him he calls for ethiopians to denounce MELES and when things get tough he thinks Ethiopians needs to PRAY only to get rid of Meles and finally when they beat his azz like a BAD HABIT now he says NO JUSTICE in Ethiopia, come on Mesfin watch where ur legs stand DONT CONFUSE ETHIOPIANS!!we never believe in ur PHONY words anyway.

The professor should have known more than anybody, as long as the tribalist gangs are in power there will never be politics in Ethiopia. It seems it took the professor the second arrest of Birtucan to realize that, it is impossible to wadge a peacefull struggle in Ethiopia. I hope his admission will be a lesson for those who sill think there might be a chance to defeat weyane peacefully.

No doubt professor Mesfin made a big political error.His myopia might have risen from his knowledge on Ethiopian geography and history.Even then it is immoral to discredit his contribution for the protection of human rights and the development of peaceful struggle for democracy.Disparaging him, focussing on his political mistakes wouldn,t help the struggle in any way.

Focussing on the dead enemy of the people-the dictatorship- is the the single measure that we should adopt.We should not characterize our heroin, the Second Ansansuhi- Birtukan Mideksa as naive politician.Again it is immoral to discredit her sacrifice.

We shouldn,t shudder in the face of the naked brutality of Meles Zenawi.We should be able to frustrate his intimidation, haressment and brute force by developing our peacefol struggle.Let us stand together until Birtukan and numerous other political prisoners are released!

I have already said that this prof.is confused when he was talking nonsense in Washington DC.
But since most Ethiopians are eager to have a consistent politician he was supposed to be heard by some…and he disproved that nosense talk right when he is caught.

I wonder why people like Professor are Mesfin unable to comprehend that Woyane is our enemy? The struggle that we Ethiopians must undertake is a national liberation struggle against TPLF colonialists. The TPLF regime is not an ordinary dictator like that of Zimbabwe, Burma, North Korea etc. They are colonialists that must be dealt with a liberation struggle. The Woyanes are treating us, the Ethiopians like their enemies. Why are we not treating them like wise. There is no room for peaceful political struggle in Ethiopia. Meles Zenawi will never give up power peacefully. We should talk to him in the language that he understands. Victory to Ethiopian people!!!

This is a Trick!! A year ago Wzr. Birtukan told us there is ONLY 100 prisoners. Lets hope this time she might count the right numbers. I still don't belive it just like Elias state it other has said it all over and over and over and nothing had happend to them. In My view I belive they put her in a nice place like she is in prison. Later on they will tell her she is free and then be a HERO, by thinking the poor people will vote for her and then she will do her missions again which is by Betraying the Ethiopian people for the coming fraud Elections. Starting from the editor to comment contributor:
You all are criticizing Birtukan and Pr. Messfin. Keep in mind you were all behind their struggle upto the election. For what ever it's worth they have creatwd an environment in which Woyane was able to show it's true color and cement what we all were preaching regarding Woyane's brutality.
Let's ask ourselves how much have we sacrifice compare to Birtukan and Pr. Messfin? The least we can do now is to continue what Birtukan has started to expose what had taken place up to the day they were released and the condition under.
Have you heard from Dr. Birhanu or others on elaborating on what she claimed about their release?????? And why not????

The only thing new that happened in the past few days is that the woyanes arrested Birtukan and mishandled Mesfin.

Before that, when Mesfin was telling us that the woyane are not the enemy, 2-300 people were killed, about 80000 people were arrested, Ogaden was burning.

But all that was needed to 'end politcs in Ethiopia' was that Mesfin gets physically mishandeled …. wey gud! What a hypocracy!

Why are you focusing on critisising someone who is at least trying to perform his share on the struggle that might take generations? Just focus on the common enemy and not on the way other patriots do their home work (Struggle)… just do your homework in whatever way you like.. so long as we all share a common goal – that is liberting the nations from tyrany and ensuring rule of law.. be focused brother.

Prof Mesfin has always been an opportunist. Don't forget he was part of the investigating commission in 1975 under dergue, ridiculing and humiliating the former prime minster Aklilu Habtewold, and his cabinet members. He never protested the gunning down of those officials without due of justice.
Now Prof Mesfin after 20years is reborn as a progressive human rights protector! I call him an opportunist!

We watched in anguish the dead bodies of mostly young and a few elderly excuted by the so called federal police after the 2005 election.The the saga couldn't go away no matter what the Tigray junta does to hide its crimes.Kiniget won the election,and yet Meles said no,because he rules with the power of a gun.Now after all those inhuman attrocities aginst itsel and its supporters,P.Mesfin one of many others trashed all the sacrifice paid by the Ethiopian youth in blood to glorify democracy with deep hearted support to Kinigit by splitting it into 2 or more toothless group.There is a saying "a croccodile cries after it swallowed the wild beast".P.Mesfin dont know it but Woyane has used him and his notion of so called peacefull struglle to eliminate any opposition step by step in the name of the TPLF constitution that P.Mesfin always like to quote in explaining his actions.What a fullish act of self distruction.
