Excellente Mr. Yilma! There is one great piece of work, rather a gift, you did not mention that His Excellency President Kwame Nkrumah gave to the people of Ghana. He passed a legislature that out-lawed the organization of political parties based on religious, tribal, or regional grounds. He also made sure that students from different ethnic backgrounds shared school and University dormitories so that they will be able to realize their Ghanianness, their oneness, their unity.

Talk about unity, I remember in 1970 when I enrolled at Haile Sellasie Ist University I had to share a dorm with 3 other Ethiopians, 1 from Dire Dawa, 1 from Sodo Guraghe, 1 from Eriteria (then a province of Ethiopia), and me from Addis. I thought it was quite a mix and exciting to get a chance to meet students from different cultural back ground. Unfortunately, the guy from Eriteria felt unease from the outset and asked if he can exchange with one guy from Addis who was supposed to share a dorm with 3 others from Asmara. Embrassing as it was we had to let him know that he was free to do what he wanted. It was quite a shock to a guy like me from Addis who grew up with people from different ethnic groups including Eriterians. In fact my best friends were Eriterians although now-a-days I have a few of them. One thing I came to know at Addis Abeba University, as it was later dubbed, is the pathological ethnical divide especially that observed between Eriterians and the rest of the students from other parts of Ethiopia. As time went by to make matters worse, a very beautiful main land-born and raised Eriterian girl fell in love with me!! And boy you can say hell broke loose. A group of Eriterian boys were very upset with this leison and they harrased her so much. Eventhough we stood our grounds she left for Europe after the Derg came to power. But then again what is new? So many Ethio-Eriterian marrages have been wrecked when Ertieria ceded from Ethiopia.

weyane is well entrenched neither Ginbot 7 nor Kinigit can remove it alone. It needs a concerted effort by all opposition groups to wadge a meaningful fight to get rid off this rebel group. We have to remember weyane came to power by force and it can only be removed by the same method. The most urgent thing required right now is unity among the oppositions. As long as the opposition is divided, weyane will stay in power for years to come.

For those who have less time, please go to the 40th minute and follow the discussion.

Thank you so much for your great article and for recognising Ghanaians as peace loving people. It has been a struggle for us all Africans. But I am glad that Ghana has shown to the world as the shining star of Africa(the secret is Ghanaians love a good party!) Peace too will come to Ethiopia. It will take time but it will come.

Yes, we have serious issues. Ethiopia helped Ghana to be free. South Afirca's last minority leader said once, "we develop South Africa, look to Ethiopia, 3000 years of freedom, with starvation".

We all should feel our past and current situation of Ethiopia. Let each individual do what is good for the country and its people. God bless those who are working hard.

Kwoning the fact about Ethiopian compared to Ghana is terribly painful. How on earth we end up in this situation? It just is mesmersing, incomprhensible. I remember three years ago while I was back home listening one FM radio programm, that is gone as well...hmmmmmmmmmm...what improvement and chievment. Thanks Meles Zenawi, hope you are counting you bruial days. I want to live longer to witness you final moment, God willing Ethiopia will breath the freedom air in near future.

Thank You Yilma.
