To Oromay and others: Good news about the abused child!

Postby Ghirmawi » 28 Mar 2012, 04:25

Many forumers have been touched by the clip of a child bieng abused by her "mother". It seems the case is now almost over. TADIAS ADDIS RADIO FM has played an essential role in tracking the people involved, while the Reporter has come out with a good news today (check the link below). What matters at this juncture is the child has survived so far. Now, it is up to us to extend a helping hand. There must be a reason why she has stayed so strong all this time.

God is good the little angel is till alive. Though no doubt for years to come it would be hard for this little girl to forget or overcome years of physical, emotional and psychological trauma and tortures, but witnessing this little girl amazing inner strength in facing the two evils in the video, sky is the limit for this little girl. However, when it comes to the report, I have noticed two things inconsistent or misleading. First of all, as we all heard it on the video, the truth is the little girl was subjected to unspeakable torture and abuse for crying as well as talking about "Asmara...Eritrea"...., not about School...what the mother and the report would like us to believe? Second, the report and the mother were not forthcoming to tell us exactly what happened to the little girl father, though the implicit message was clear for all to see that he was deported?

It is good to hear that the girl is found alive but sad to know that she is still living with the same abusing mother if she is her mother to begin. And Kudus to all those who contributed a lot of time and energy to highlight her condition. It paved off and now everyone knows about her situation first hand. What is unsettled for me is though, this information that the girl might be Eritrean. If that is the case I wonder what kind of worthless father he really is to leave his child with such mentally unstable mother. As to the case of supporting the girl. It would be lovely to do so but difficulties such as who will make sure she will get better use of such support is a head etching question as far as I am concerned.

It's a bit too quick to judge the dad since no one knows what happened to him, or if he is deported to Eritrea, the way and circumstance he was deported? As to helping the girl, I am sure most of us in this forum would love to help in any way we could. However, if the girl is an Eritrean, as I believe she is, I would love and do anything I could to see her adopted by Eritrean family in safe and away from harm.
