Herndon Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in the investigation of the fatal hit-and-run that happened just after midnight Tuesday night in the 600 block of Center Street.
Police are looking for Fitsum Abrha Gebretatios, 32, who is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Gebretatios is the owner of the black Toyota Camry that was located a short distance from the hit-and-run and was involved in a second collision, hitting a van that was pushed into a number of cars along Center Street. Police have not determined whether the Camry or another vehicle hit the woman in the parking lot.
Police say Gebretatios, the husband of the victim, is the registered owner of the car and may have been injured in the accident.
Anyone who comes in contact with Gebretatios or has any information on him is asked to contact the Herndon Police Department at 703-435-6846.
