Reve,
I hope some angry Syrian will not put a bullet in his head while he is running and sodmise him just like they did to Gaddafi. I hope they will catch that evil beast and burn him in the middle of Damascus soother dictators watch while waiting their turns.

Aragaw, I think what one needs to address is not so much about whether Assad is good for Syria or not, for that is the issue the Syrians are addresing or should be, but why are the Russians and Chinese battling it out against the western powers. I mean, if all these governments are working for the benefit of the Syrian interest, why the two distinct camps? The answer is obvious, and I don't want to insult any forumers' intelligence. That is the question any observer especially those of us in the Third World need to be aware and fight it tooth and nail instead of fighting amongst us.

Hawileyto,

My issue is simple. No sane minded person massacre innocent children, women and old fox for far too long. When you are a leader and when you see uncertainty in your country, when you know the people say enough is enough, it is time to pack up and go with all the loot and spare the people and the country to whomever is coming to take the next challenge. It doesn't matter what USA EU, China or Russia say. They all see things from their own perspective. As leader who claim he loves his country, have some compassion and get the hell out of there before the entire country and people burn to the ground. That's what a sane person does. Hard to understand the minds of dictators. If I don't rule the country it has to go down with me attitude.

I couldn't agree more especially since (in the case of Syria) it appears the majority didn't want Assad. But, may be it is because we have seen it over and over as to how these powerful nations are pissing all over the weaker (usually third worlders), but I could not stand when, in broad day light, they say they are doing this and that because for the sake of the Syrians - not their own geopolitics. That is what pisses me off.

It is a proxy war of USA and Israel against Iran and its allies. The stage is set in Syria.

China and Russia being the worst not to react., every so called civilized nation said not a word at the beginning when people were killed in masses. No one helps or come to the rescue of the Syrian people until they started to have upper hand lately. I have at most respect for the Syrian people who are taking arms and challenging the most powerful man in the region.

Only a sovereign people have the freedom to take a bold stand on what they believe is right, even when it's unpopular to do so.

....so the Eritrean govt officially support Asad?

Is it possible to show your position in a clear language without adding multiple diplomatic statements?

To me supporting Asad is supporting Zenawi. I have indicated somewhere similarities between the two regimes.
