Sources close to the Patriarchate say "he is in critical condition". The patriarch has been attending medications for a long time. Detail news coming soon. Stay tuned.

(ደጀ ሰላም፤ ነሐሴ 8/2004 ዓ.ም፤ ኦገስት 14/ 2012) - ኻያኛ ዓመት በዓለ ሢመታቸውን ከሐምሌ 5 ቀን 2004 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ እስከ ወሩ መገባዳጃ ሲያከበሩ የቆዩት አምስተኛው የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ፓትርያርክ ብፁዕ ወቅዱስ አቡነ ጳውሎስ በጠና ታመው ምሽቱን ወደ ደጃዝማች ባልቻ ሆስፒታል መግባታቸው ተሰማ፡፡

አቡነ ጳውሎስ በምንገኝበት የፍልሰታ ለማርያም ጾም የሰሞኑ ውሏቸው በመንበረ ፓትርያርክ ቅድስተ ቅዱሳን ማርያም ገዳም ጸሎተ ቅዳሴ ላይ እንደ ነበሩ የተናገሩት የዜናው ምንጮች÷ የፓትርያርኩን አጣዳፊ ሕመም ለይተው አልገለጹም፡፡ ይኹንና ከቅርብ ጊዜ ወዲህ እንደሚስተዋለው የአባ ጳውሎስ መውጣትና መግባት ግራና ቀኝ በሚይዟቸው ሰዎች ድጋፍ እንደሚከናወን ተነግሯል፤ ራሳቸውን ችለው መራመድ ይኹን ከመኪናቸው መውጣትና መውረድም እንደተሳናቸው ተመልክቷል፡፡ በአሁኑ ሰዓት አባ ጳውሎስ ለረጅም ጊዜ ሕመማቸውን ሲከታተሉ በቆዩበት የደጃዝማች ባልቻ ሆስፒታል ዶክተሮች ከፍተኛ ክትትል ላይ መኾናቸውንና አስጊ በሚባል ኹኔታ ውስጥ እንደሚገኙ ምንጮቹ አክለው ገልጸዋል፡፡

እግራቸው ከጉልበታቸው በታች በከፍተኛ ደረጃ መጎዳቱንና የጤናቸው ኹኔታ አሳሳቢ ደረጃ ላይ መድረሱ የሚነገርላቸው ፓትርያርኩ÷ ጤናቸውን ለመከታተል የሚያደርጉት ሳምንታዊ ወጪ ከስድሳ ሺሕ ብር በላይ ማሻቀቡን መዘገባችን ይታወሳል፡፡
