Do You Think The Ethio Farmer Did the Right Thing Suing the UK?

Postby revolutions » 07 Sep 2012, 14:47

I think the Ethiopian farmer is only trying to raise awareness for the on-going land-grabbing practices in Ethiopia that has affected the lives of millions of people in Southern regions. But some Brits are not looking at it that way as you will read below.

ETHIOPIAN MAN MAY SUE THE U.K. OVER ABUSE WORSE THAN LIVING IN ETHIOPIA
September 7 2012

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Throughout the last few decades there has been no country more in need, and thus received more assistance, on a regular basis than Ethiopia. True, there are certainly times when certain countries need help, say in the face of natural disaster, but Ethiopia has stood out consistently for its consistency in needing help.ethiopia famine kids

There are many reasons for the trouble the country constantly finds itself in, some the fault of the leadership inside the country and some just by virtue of where it is in the world. Whatever the reasons, though, the world has always stepped up to help the people of Ethiopia to get back on their feet.

Some people though just don’t appreciate a good gesture including one man who is threatening to sue the United Kingdom over alleged abuses. Those abuses were allegedly financed by the U.K., albeit indirectly, with the millions and millions of dollars they just give to the country without thought of reward to help prevent people from starving. It’s not clear if the person suing has any strong evidence of a tie to the U.K. and its government or realizes that by suing he could just end up imperiling future aid or if he even cares at all.

“He saw several men were beaten, women were raped and some people disappeared,” said a lawyer for the man known only as Mr. O of a resettlement project that he believes was financed by the U.K.

U.K. officials have said that funds they have allocated for the country in no way were used for the resettlement programme and essentially threatened to cut off funding if garbage like this continues.ethiopia famine kid

The last aid donation to the country came in July of 2011, $61 million in total which is no small chunk of change.

“I have no doubt that these terrible things Mr. O is talking about did indeed occur and it is awful that they did but just because you want someone to blame that doesn’t mean that those people are responsible. I mean it’s possible some of the funds were allocated to this program but there is no evidence of that yet and you shouldn’t just fling around accusations especially not against a country that has done so much for you in the past,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “I mean you do that thing and they might just let people starve the next time. They don’t have to give you money after all, it’s a favour, a nice guy thing to do and if you start giving them crap, well, guess what’s going to happen.”

Lawyers for Mr. O and the U.K. government are currently looking into any possible misuse of the money.ethiopia famine

“I mean this guy himself wasn’t even injured or really inconvenienced at all. He saw some people get beaten, wah. He saw some people get raped, wah. Like big deal really. Maybe if he had been beaten and raped and disappeared he would have something but he wasn’t and so he should just shut up and stop being a baby,” continued Hander. “Either that or risk the future of his nation for a few lousy bucks. People are starving all across the country but Mr. O, man Mr. O is living high on the hog now isn’t he. Good for Mr. O, here, let me eat dirt and see if that saves my life.”

Mr. O was forced to resettle and not given new farmland, food, water, or money which has to kind of [deleted] but that doesn’t mean the British should pay for it.

Revolution, the servant of the Arabqit, Kim iL Issu,
When are going to plead to the Arabs to free your enslaved Eritrean boys and girls living in Arab slavery, because in Arab chains, you do not have a courage to take or sue any Arab in any court of justice? The problem begins in your head, you hate your own rich African history, languages and identity, then when you tried to wear your borrowed Arab identity, the Arab started to own you as his slave. Now you have ended up as a physical and mental slave of the Arabs.
