Yes. TPLF will stand for the Freedom of any peoples, whether its Eritreans or Somalis or South Sudanese. The Freedom to chose how to be governed. The Eritreans under Shaebia chose Independence rather than Freedom.

Regarding Shaebia wanting to compromise with Derg, even Shaebia would not deny this. Shaebia was in dire situation in Sahel, and if it wasn't for Derg empty Bravado and misteken strength, Shaebia was ready to go only for Freedom to choose, at the most a Federation. But both got ahead of what was needed. Derg thought, if Shaebia can accept this, it means Shaebia is close to death and all Derg needed was a small nudge. Derg was wrong.

For your info first it was in Atlanta and next it moved to Nairobi. The carter center launched the peace plan after the huge victory of Afeabet which was the turning point of the Eritrean struggle from being the hunted to the hunter. It was conducted after the huge Fenkel military operation and the capture of Massawa. The negotiations came into closed door in Nairobi, because Derg was proposing an autonomous arrangement while the EPLF was consistent with its long held standing “The Eritrean people should decide its fate all by itself by conducting referendum”. The EPLF had no mandate to decide on the fate of the Eritrean people. The peace negotiations were came into closed door and EPLF also accused the so called president carter for taking side. The EPLF even made public the series of letters exchanged between carter and president Issayas through DIMSTI HAFASH at that time. Now you come from no where and you say this and that. For your information, the Weyane was non existent in the eyes of the Derg.
Later in 1991, when the American government again tried to salvage Mengistu out of demise, they arranged a meeting in London. It is the EPLF that purposely delayed the meeting and ordered the capture of Asmara a few days before the meeting. After the capture of Asmara and scramble of the Derg, the meeting in London has no meaning because of the de facto on the ground. The meeting only agrees on a safe entrance of Weyane to Addis.
We have been hearing a lot of lies from you and your likes. Lying can not change history. You also claim to have saved shaebia in Nakfa. Let me tell you, Shabia survived 8 consecutive offensives from Derg only starting 1978. The 6th offensive which Derg calls QEY KOKOB is the heaviest of all. It is true, Weyane have participated in the 6th offensive. But it was for a simple reason that their existences were totally dependent on the existence of Shabia. If in any case Mengistu managed to crush shabia in Nakfa, he only can step on Weyane like an insect in his way back to Addis. The huge military of Derg the HULETGNA ABIOTAWI SERAWIT could annihilate weyane in a matter of hours. So they just went to join the fight in Nakfa because it was also for their very survival. It was no also as someone comes and saves you out of hell. The Weyane soldiers simply were distributed under the Shabia ranks and commands and increased the number. Shabia had no confidence on the capability of Weyane to give a specific place to be guarded solely by Weyane. I am not underestimating their contribution, but I am saying this just straighten the record which getting abused by you and your likes.
But Shabia for Weyane is everything. Shabia trained you, armed you and saved you when you needed help and carry you all the way to Addis. What you did is just drive on the road Shabia prepared for you. You just happen to be lucky and run until Addis on the very smooth ground. So please feel some shame when you say we did this we did that for Eritrean people. You might mislead some innocent Ethiopian people but the Eritrean people know every single history of the past.
