Silk Da Shocker wrote:that will eventually have your website black listed from Google Search results

Brother Silk,

Your knowledge about search engines and crawlers is so limited. i can see your ignorance quite easily. I see you have little knowledge about how google black lists some sites from its search rankings. while it is true that repetitive contents could trigger alarm in google crawls, the random repetitive contents generated by Balcha and AFDist doesn't warrant Google to black list this site. Lets say that google black listed ER for the reasons you mentioned. one email from elias to google customer care will unlist it from the black list content. the reason is that Elias can mention that this is a user generated content and it is not an attempt by the webmaster to confuse googles algorithm in its ranking procedures.

Just going to the google webmaster page and learn a few point would have helped you from such ignorance. as they say, little mind is dangerous. people who know little, think they know too much not knowing that a guru in the field is lurking and watching around.

Elias,

Speaking of google black list, Ethiomedia is in google black list. if you go and search Ethiomedia, you wouldn't get a hit. i just found out a few days ago. Abraha must have done something to trick the algorithm knowingly or unknowingly to get a high ranking on his website.

I will suggest you come up with a better SEO strategy when you have time. I doubt if you are effectively using it now (for silk...SEO means search engine optimization). For instance, i searched "Ethiopian Corruption" in google and ER is 6th/7th on the list behind Nazret. the higher rank goes for a None ethiopian site IRIN NEWS. You can create keywords and phrases like that for ER to be ranked higher on search result. mind you, you have no competition for phrases like "Ethiopian corruption", "Ethiopian Genocide" etc currently as no one is aware of SEO strategies in Ethiopian medias. here is a page that can help on SEO tools :

My friend, not knowing is not ignorance rather unwilling to learn is what is called ignorance. If we know everything why would we come to a forum. Even if you have a point, your focus on the person rather than his idea greatly compromises your points. It is would have been enough to explain your points by attacking his idea rather than him. I liked your explanation but it is not healthy discussion to attack the person just for expressing what he felt about the site. I hope you understand

Brother Oromay,

the message of silk da shoker is more like harrassment than opinion. And i have this feeling i am the robin-hood of this forum. jumping to help the poor from the preying eye of the rich, defending the weak from the arrogant strong. etc. if you look back, my trend in this forum is just that. If brother silk was not in a bullying fashion, i would have just easily read and go without commenting. i respect your opinion though. but don't put village affinity before moral and true justice

I'm honored and flattered to receive such special recognition from my fellow starfish. A lot of my efforts are dedicated to peaceful coexistence between each of Ethiopia's ethnic and religious groups, and to build friendships that extend beyond Ethiopia's national borders. I long to see a peaceful, stable, harmonious and prosperous Ethiopia, restored to its earlier glory that serves as a model for other African countries. I'm very happy to be part of the #1 Ethiopian website that is making a significant impact on Ethiopian and regional politics. Thanks guys ! :D

P.S. I miss Semira.

+++1. Zmeselo --- Clear, logical, has always a point.
++1. Revolutions --- Creative, intelligent, sometimes "what the hell just happened?" kind of weak. (which imply to me there might be two people under one name.)
+1. Qindibu --- Clear and logical. not easily fooled.

=========================================================
-1. Shalom -- showing cowardice, writing like a robot, lacks intelligence
--1. Halafi Mengedi -- outdated, expired shark food.
---1. AFDist --- blatantly false history, boring, and worthless Woyane agent here only to disrupt the forum

The worst are those who kept us busy cleaning their dirt.

Best Forummers

1. Semira
2. Revolutions
3. Aragaw

Worst Forummers

1. Abyssinean (a scumbag, banned permanently)
2. Gamogofa (banned permanently)
3. Balcha Demesse

I encourage moderators to come up with their own best and worst of 2011.

These are not the same people. And even though Awash is a hardcore Woyanne cadre, he is not disruptive as Balcha.

It's easy to change your IP. It's even easier to mask it using proxies or anonymous web surfing websites. So go with their writing pattern, rather than IP. In regards to Balcha Demesse he may be Abyssinean aka Gamogofa.

You might be right on that. Recently Ethiopian Review's Google Page Rank was lowered to 5 from 6, and the problem might be the spam posts by the likes of Balcha. http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php

I'm very confident it's a combination of you posting content from other websites, coupled with "thin" content and with Balcha and Awash/Nostalgia flooding your forums with spam. Google Is cracking down on webmasters for duplicate content and treating it as spam.

In regards to your rank on search queries, Ethiopianreview is still ahead of other Ethiopian websites. Ethiomedia is blacklisted by Google (death penalty in the cyber world) and Nazret is slowly dying away because most of their content is just recycled news from other websites. I think you should start posting unique content or ask your fellow readers to start writing in and positing what they write. Whatever you do, make sure you target Meles Zenawi, because if the head rots, then so does the body. Don't follow Eritrea's strategy of targeting the body (TPLF). IMO Eritrea is a backward nation in terms of online news is concerned, or trying to convey their message. So stop saying "woyanne" and say Tyrant Meles Zenawi and make sure you work the word genocide with Meles Zenawi's name.

Remember, the woyanne agent Saleh Johar pays SEO specialists to help him with obtaining higher search results - he also never posts duplicate content because he knows how that hurts his website.

Additional suggestions:

You should start becoming an activist, rather than a journalist.

At least once a month, you should target a human rights watch organization by asking your readers to phone in and bring their attention of Meles Zenawi's cruel genocide in the Ogaden. Make sure you post those pictures you posted a few months back that highlighted the brutality of Meles Zenawi and have videos of the genocides of the Ogaden posted. Eventually, western news agencies will start targeting the midget tyrant and his aid funds will start drying up, which means a quick collapse and a rapid end of his occupation of Ethiopia. No western nation leader wants the media to focus on Meles Zenawi's genocide because if they do, that means they have to cut all ties with the tyrant and dry up his funds. Remember, facts don't mean anything - everyone knows there is a genocide in the Ogaden, you just have to make sure the media starts talking about it so the western politicians will be forced to back away from the tyrant.

Can you lead this forum in that effort?

I don't find pleasure in not being "as disruptive" as my buddy Balcha while, at the same time, I'm being accused of being a "hardcore Woyanne cadre". In fact, I am pro- Horn of Africa and vehemently anti- fascist shabo. You all need to check your own loyalty to the people and re-evaluate your unashamed support to the Butchers of Asmara: the criminal shabo mafia. You will never gain any credibility in the eyes of the people and world powers when you keep associating yourselves with the worst human rights violator in Africa.

One thing is for sure: I am a nightmare to the gullible shabo diaspora and the stooges in this forum.
