it's nice to find such opportunity to have a look back in to the past. The reporter's ignorance about the tradition of
fukera before the king was humorous. He thought they were giving a report on their battle deeds. It was also interesting to see that the British were mostly helped by Indians to fight the Italians and their Askaris in Eritrea. The patriots that fought against Italian colonialism in Eritrea were very few. You actually see the askari fighting even after the Italians have been defeated. Of course we all know the situation in Tigray and the many bandas that served the Italians. It would have been nice to see more footage of the battle of Ambalage, the last battle field with the Italians in Ethiopia. Meles Zenawi's grandfather basha Asress Tesema and his father Zenawi Asress were probably hiding far from the battle field just like their son/grandson Meles did in his TPLF days. It must be a family tradition.
King Haile Selassie's speech and his directive to the Ethiopians not to lower themselves to the evil deeds of the Italians by taking revenge was heart worming. Today, Ethiopia is occupied by the hateful and vindictive gang of TPLF bandas. How sad!
