You said" woyane has shown time and again that it is absolutely uncompromising, very rigid and totalitarian regime. Just look at what it is doing against journalists currently just for criticizing and demand the government to step down"
You must be the craziest democrat that I have ever seen. What kind of democrat are you? Have you ever heard the word"ELECTION",where majority people vote and elect whoever they want. You are telling us that journalists should be the one who decide whether the government has to step down or not. This is insult and disrespect to the majority Ethiopian peasants. You are telling us that their votes should be ignored, but only journalists vote must be counted. WOW!!!! First of all you should know that the so called"Ethiopian journalists" are just street journalists with no formal education in journalism. 99% of Ethiopian journalists are just HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUTS ILLITERATES who don`t know what journalism means. I would like to remind you also that if you have a BIG HEART, His Excellency Meles Zenawi said many times that he is willing to give you army supply. The only thing what is needed from you is just to say good bye to McDonald and go to the bush and fight like a man and die for what you believe. To be honest I thought that in this forum Belaynesh or Minelik or Mini-likiskis or Budaw is the DUMBEST person, but now I know Fikre_siltan is also the same like the coward Minelik.Welcome to the cowards group, which was founded by none other than Belaynesh or Minelik or Mini-likiskis or Budaw .
Thomas H, you completely missed my point here! Come on, I thought everybody knows democracy 101 that a free and fair election and the majority vote is the basis of power in any democracy. I'm not talking about that. You completely misunderstood me. My point is not that journalists should change governments by demanding them to step down. That is not my point at all. My point is that critisizing and demanding a government to step down is a normal practice and the right of every citizen in any dimocracy. But that doesn't mean that goverments have to listen to the demand and step down. No, even in western democracies many governments just ignore this demands. But my point is this: demanding a government to step down or criticizing it, is not a criminal act! You do not jail journalists or ordinary citizens just for expressing what they feel about the government. This is their citizen's rights. And to equate it with terrorism is a complete madness to say the least! That is my point. The government should let people experess their feelings and what they think about the government, including demanding the government to step down, that is just democracy 101. That doesn't mean the government has to listen to their demands. The actions of governments deeply affect citizens in positive or negative way. That is the nature of government. So citizens should also be allowed to react to governments actions. This is not terrorism but just a normal practice in any genuine democracy.
Moreover, you can not jail journalistst just because they are school drop outs. That is absurd and weird thing to do. Even propanada against the governemt, which is really out of the scope of professional journalism, is not a criminal act. This is what the government and the likes of you need to get into your heads! Take for example fox news in the US. It is nothing but a pure propaganda machine against the current president and his adminstration. Though this kind of "journalism" has nothing to do with professional journalism, but it is not a criminal act and it is by no means a terrorist act. Lack of professionalism in journalism is not terrorism. And compared to ETV "journalists" that have no freedom to think for themselves but just to read what is given to them and are nothing more than pure one party propaganda tools, the private journalists have at least the freedom to think for themselves and they are not misusing public money for one party propaganda as ETV does.
Finally, I can not respond to the many insults you expressed staring from name calling etc. My advise is that you first learn to try to understand people's thoughts before quickly insulting them. You want to talk about cowardness? Believe me insulting people behind a computer screen is the very easiest and coward thing to do. And lastly, I hope you will not call that 99,6% thing election

otherwise we have no common ground of understanding on the very basics of democray to discuss further.
