Have you seen any congress man or women walk free after taking gifts in the form of golf tickets or corporate jet flight etc answer is no..there is an ethics watch dog that oversee every public officials in the US congress..last time Charlie Rangle of NY appeared before the ethics hearing commission and reprimanded...remember Newts Gingrich...he was expelled from his post after his ethics violation..also Anthony Whiner of NY....etc are good examples...no one walks free after making ethical violations.

The reason why we do not see corruption in the USA is not only because there is ethics law .. but also because of the fact that the elected official prefers to guard his or her name and reputations ...plus many of these individuals are too rich to fall for little gifts you mentioned above. I would say when you are rich and educated you avoid making stupid mistakes such as taking bribes etc ....

Just like in the US there is also anticorruption lows in Ethiopia. It just doesn’t apply to the high Weyane officials. My point is, no matter how many laws there are people don’t stop from giving and receiving bribes until they get caught. The US did not need ethics commission to begin with if there were no corruption. Corruption is everywhere it is there to stay. It is worst in Ethiopia and every African country than anywhere else in the world. As I said earlier it is the degree of the corruption that is different.

In regards to Obma and other presidential candidates getting money, it is perfectly legal. It is Soft money loophole that is allowed unlimited spending on behalf of candidates. Those groups operate in accordance with the US law.
