Charles Taylor Liberia war crimes verdict date set
The verdict in the war crimes trial of Liberia's ex-President Charles Taylor will be delivered on 26 April, the UN-backed court trying him has said.

Russia's presidential elections were "clearly skewed" in favour of the winner, Vladimir Putin, monitors with the Organisation for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) have said.

Hamas denies it will attack Israel in any war with Iran

Leaders of the Palestinian Islamist movement, Hamas, say they will not help Iran militarily in any conflict between Israel and the Islamic Republic.
There is speculation in Israel that if it attacked Iran's nuclear facilities, it could face rocket fire from Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan has had a second round of talks with President Bashar al-Assad on ways to end months of violence in Syria.
Although the UN wants "inclusive political solutions" through dialogue, Syrian opposition leaders have rejected talks while President Assad is still in power.

Afghan protesters demand U.S. soldier be tried in Afghanistan
