I think shame is when you measure your self-worth by the number of Masters you have. And it's even more shameful when your definition of "alliance" is the willingness to send your mercenary troops to a far away land and die fighting a war on behalf of another country whose leaders think the lives of their troops is worth a lot more than yours.
