Col. Abebe Geresu, founding and executive committee member of Tinsae Ethiopia Patriotic Union (Tinsae Ethiopia), has been arrested in Eritrea, according to Ethiopian Review sources.
Tinsae Ethiopia’s executive committee has confirmed the information, but added that the case is being handled diplomatically.
The Tinsae Ethiopia leadership also expressed its concern for Col. Abebe’s health since he has diabetes and that his doctors instructed him to seek medial attention abroad shortly before he was arrested.
Col. Abebe was picked up from Nyala Hotel in Asmara a few weeks ago and his current whereabouts are unknown, sources said.
He is the second high level official of Tinsae Ethiopia to have disappeared in Eritrea since 2010.
It’s to be remembered that Col. Tadesse Muluneh, who is also a founding and executive committee member of Tinsae Ethiopia, disappeared in Eritrea in October 2010 and that the Government of Eritrea has not been willing to inform any one about his status.
Tinsae Ethiopia is trying to exhaust its diplomatic efforts to have both of its executive committee members freed before releasing any official statement, its leadership said.

Col. Abebe Geresu's arrest is a slap in the face by the Eritrean government against all pro-unity Ethiopians, and the only beneficiary of this act is Woyanne. I cannot dismiss the arrest of Abebe Geresu as the act of some crazed colonel in the Eritrean military any more. If that is the case, it means that there is no central government in Eritrea. I'm terribly disappointed because I really believed that the Eritrean government wanted genuine relationship with Ethiopian opposition groups.

I will declare the Shabia regime insane. Absolutley no skills of cooperating with genuine Ethiopians against the Woyannies. Its diplomatic skills are so primitive, it was outplayed by the Woyannie mafias in the UN, IGAD and the African Union.
I can see its well known former Ambassador here in DC Girma Asmerom and Prof Berhe H. Giorgis, a former Ethiopian army cadet graduate, hiding their faces in shame because they did so much work to bring the two people together. But it did not last long for Shabia to destroy it.
This is sad and shabias demise will not be far which will not improve our own misery under Woyannies. However, shabia will test soon how we feel under Woyannies occupation. This will happen soon.

Elias is a brave warrior with a big heart. He did everything to work with Eritreans against the Woyannies but Shabia did not return in kind. How many EPPF leaders were killed and jailed in Eritrea?
Isaias Afewerki seem to be surrounded by worthless people or is he going crazy? My advice to you, take him to the closest mental hospital. This is not good to Ethiopian nationalists but you will soon see the disaster.
