Meles Zenawi and TPLF are selling Ethiopia cheap, for dirt cheap price, pennies. Tigrians think this is a form of progress, while Ethiopian culture if being presented for very low price.

Meles Zenawi (EPRDF/ TPLF) polices and strategies are disaster to the Ethiopian livelihoods and also their future. There was land crisis in Amhara, Tigray, and SNNP. Selling the local lands started from Oromiya and now Gambella. The second cycle will be pastoral areas (i.e. Ogaden, Afar and South Omo), while Banishangul-Gumuz will be the third phase. This Indian man is simply there as an agent and baranbarss for his bosses. But, there will be more migration and colonial-style occupation by Indians.

It is so sad to see, almost 80 million people sit and watch when their property is confiscated. Ethiopian pride is burried. a A G A M EW O T C H E is destroying Ethiopia beyond repair.

My head hurts trying to think of what the woyane agriculture minister and the Indian land-grabber said in the video. How is it that they can "attain self-sufficiency in Ethiopia" by throwing off farmers from their ancestral land, and selling off the land to foreign investors who will grow food that will be sold to western donor countries and the UN to feed the Ethiopian population ? ኧረረረ ኡኡኡኡኡ !! ቅኝ አገዛዝ !!!

If an Indian man with the help of a local thief storms into your home, kicks your wife out of the kitchen and goes on to lock your entire family inside the closet, all the while claiming that he will need to use your kitchen to prepare food using the plants growing in your backyard in order to feed his family in Bombay, and you will get his leftover food to share with your wife and kids locked inside the closet. Does that make you self-sufficient or a prisoner inside your own home ?

A very sad story to watch. The farmers could have cared for the land very well, had the received help from the government, unfortunately the government is held by some debt to the financial backers. Now that the land is under one technologically advanced agro-company, it can produce more grains on an acre than the Ethiopian farmer was harvesting, regardless of the reasons behind. Sure, it will damage the community where this foreign agro-corporation is operating at, not now but down the road. When the Ethiopian farmer wants to escape poverty, and progress is directly linked to having some assets, primarily land in rural areas. However, in Ethiopia its not poverty that is a priority at the moment, the question is survival.

There must be a way to take back the land ten years later, after compensating the company, so the Ethiopian farmer can do what he has seen as an employee of the company. This may seem cold at the moment, but its an honest assessment. By comparison, Eritreans have a capable government that can organize citizens and help them produce more, by helping them with micro-dams construction. The Ethiopian government is not a government to discuss of, its sold to some interest group and those groups will not allow it to do the same as the Eritreans are doing. The regime is no longer in control of the policies to run Ethiopia, it was willing to switch from Albanian Communist to uncontrolled market model economy in less than five years. That should tell you the position of the regime on philosophy.

Personally, I would have liked for the regime to invest all its money to produce more food rather than depend on food aid and use the money to conduct a hit and run operations throughout the region. Unfortunately, it is not a legitimate government and does not have the capacity to do what it wishes to do, but to do what the owners wish it does. Independence and responsibility are two simple words with powerful meaning that do not get justice in the lexicon dictionary. They are too powerful to be tossed around by idiots and blockheads in their trivial conversations. Then again, we do not own them and we cannot take the idiot to court to stop using them.

They're using the aid money to buy gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants, liquor stores, fleet of taxi cabs and other businesses in the Diaspora. They don't give a damn if the 80 million Ethiopians starve and die. Lets not forget that they're the ones responsible for the horrific deaths of over one million people who perished during the epic famine of the 1980s.
