There is nothing wrong either side assembles anything they want to win the war. We may argue about the war itself whether it is necessary or not but once the war is being decided to be fought then it is up to the parties to assemble what ever they got to win the war. I have read good arguments here in ER, between Eris and Tigreans. But never to the satisfaction of an answer like this. Watch out for this "Red Sea" fella, a wise fella. The point is too powerful to refute. In Eritrea the regime can ask for everyone below 60 to register, because Eritreans' life expectancy is higher than the age order to serve in the Military. In Ethiopia, that kind of order does not fly, because the life expectancy is below 60. There is no powerful point of rebuttal than that. I am going to read Red Sea more often, I may learn good pointers.

Your logic does not hold water for the reason of the followings:

Eritrea does not have any option but to order everyone to defend their believed country nothing wrong with that but when war breaks Eritrea will be affected 100% in everything Schools, business, farming and state employees will be shut down immediately. The main reason Shaebia has to order 60 old people to training camp is not out of luxury but out necessity and does not mean their life span is longer than Ethiopians.

In Ethiopia one percent of the population can be assembled to wage war against Eritrea but Ethiopians will not feel it at all even the Badme small store and school will run as normal while Eritrea is completely paralyzed by the war. The war for Ethiopia sending one percent is like cutting one single hair from the tail of a horse where as for Eritrea it is like cutting the tail itself, cutting all four legs and two eyes. Therefore, the argument of age life span between Eritrea and Ethiopia does not have any ground to stand by itself.
