If state says go home, do you have a case to say no???

Postby Halafi Mengedi » 09 Apr 2012, 16:26

What is the problem if any state evicts a group of Ethiopian citizens from their state to go home???
I do not see any problems, the problem I have is what ground or case do you have they should be stayed in other state???

You may say since they are Ethiopians they can live where ever they want but the problems is Ethiopia itself, that is Ethiopia is not a monolithic or single ethnic country. It is made of a collection of ethnics agreed to live together as a nation and each state or ethnic killils have the right who should live or invest in their state and do business with their people, the law is in the federal constitution agreed upon states and the federal government is being run by a collection of representative of the each states.

The recent Amhara eviction is over due and the Amhara people should say thank you for the Southern nationalities to let them stay for the last 20 years. The Southern people or Somali people would not allowed to live in Bahredar over 20K of them, then why should the Southern let Amhara live in large numbers in their state???

If Amhara is to be evicted from Gojjam or part of Shewa, wollo and Gonder then like myself could have joined to voice for the plight of Amhara people evicted from their own lands.

In my opinion, the Amhara cry right now is not about the 22K evicted from the Southern state but they are trying to avoid the next eviction from Tigray lands, Oromo lands, Benishangule lands. This southern eviction is the first stage phase one, they are so many Amhara live in other ethnic lands and the exoduses will continue to come home, the Amhara home.

Today Amhara eviction from other states is the eviction of Tigray ethnic in Eritrea from Kunama lands, Irob, Afar and other ethnic Eritreans. The Tigray ethnic Eritreans are terrified what is going on in Ethiopia Amhara today and it will be them tomorrow.

Who is state? Any way, if push comes to shove, It will be the poor Tigray who will loose at the end of the day. Don't push it.

I love to push it to the limit, believe me if I were the leader of the country. I am not expressing my love or hate towards anyone but follow the constitution. Any ethnic state can attack the consitution but if there is not the current consittution then there is no such Ethiopia country.

The states are, Tigray, Amhara, Oromo, Afar, Benishangule, Southern nationalities, Somali, HArar etc I think ten of them.

You reap what you sow brother. This poem might give you some wisdom.

REMEMBER?

"First They Came for the Jews"
By Pastor Niemoller

First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Now, just replace the words Jews = Eritrea
Communists = Oromo
trade unionists = Ogaden
Me = Amhara
Hopefully the above poem will give you some clearer picture than blaming leaders. Because leaders come and go, but the problem still persists. It is time to look inward and change.

PS, We, Eritreans know who we are, where we have been, where we are, and where we are going. Perseverance and endurance are Eritrean trade mark and with God we know that we would prevail against all evil schemes and hurdles placed before us.

The federal or state can evict Ethiopians for the sake of state or federal projects not foreign investors.

Halafi,

you seem to be intoxicated by the madness that Woyanne has rained on Ethiopia. I hope you can wake up and see how warped your reasoning is for anyone with any sort of decency. I can assure you, that once the Amara people rise, non of your historical bravado will save your people. There is a limit to our patience and TPLF is playing a dangerous game. You will be safe because you are not in Ethiopia but there is no guarantee for your people in Ethiopia.

Fesssawi, you can try to tie petty things to score political points but it will not take you anywhere except eat you coward fox. Instead of crying for nonsense do like a man can do when he has real ireconcile grievances. You talk like a man but you act like Luuti beaten by everyone. Yes state or Federal Government can evict people of the land they hold if it is obstacle for the planned projects so long the projects are for the public good. You tell me why should not be Dedeb cry chicken???
