The Amhara farmers let them pass through Gondar and Gojjam because they were tired of Derg. Also without Shabia's support, they would not have controlled one woreda of Tigray, let alone Ethiopia. Let's also not forget the support they were getting from the U.S., Arab countries, Somalia's Siad Barre... and it took them 17 years to defeat Derg. If the Ethiopian opposition groups can get real support even from one country, Woyanne would be history.
