During the latest parliament session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi suggested his government’s recent market intervention was because Ethiopia’s economy is “on the verge of collapse” and even market fundamentalists would take similar measures when their economies are in danger

According to a recent confidential report by Wikileaks, some western government officials in Addis Ababa have been “struck by what they described as Meles’ poor understanding of economics “ and the London-based magazine The Economists said the Meles Zenawi government is “one of the most economically illiterate in the modern world.

It’s to be remembered that The ECONOMIST Magazine on its Nov. 2006 issue said that the Meles regime is “one of the most economically illiterate in the modern world.” http://www.economist.com/node/8129387?story_id=8129387
