Eritrean opposition are saying that 'Isaias Afewerki is dead' and in fact they are celebrating it. The rumor about his death is not mentioned by any credible source and is not confirmed. It is to be recalled that Eritrea quashed the rumor that he was sick. Many times, the Eritrean opposition groups compromised their credibility on many issues by issuing unverified information which later turned out to be false. This time do you think they are talking true or not? I head that there were rumors that Isaias Afewerki was sick. But the rumor that he is dead is spreading like wildfire. What do you think guys?

Eritrean Government Dismisses Reports that President is Ill

The government of Eritrea is denying opposition reports that President Isaias Afewerki is seriously ill.

In an interview with VOA on Monday, Eritrean Information Minister Ali Abdu said the president is “healthier than ever.”

One media report claimed President Afewerki was in Kuwait for medical treatment.

The government spokesman said the Eritrean leader toured three zones in his country over the weekend to check on development projects.

Abdu said he personally met with Mr. Afewerki late Sunday.

The government issued a statement Monday calling the claims “fantasies” put forth by the, quote, “demonizing campaigns” of rivals.

President Afewerki has ruled Eritrea since 1993.

Under his leadership, rights group charge Eritrea has silenced critics and crushed the independent media.

Neighboring Ethiopia has also accused Eritrea of supporting al-Shabab extremists in Somalia.

Mr. Afewerki has denied the accusations and said accusations that he runs a pariah state show a bias against his country.

However, Death is certain thing, Any one who is made of flesh and blood dies soon or later and the only thing we could do at it is be prepared....Personally i have called many times for a system which gives directives on how to implement power transition and i proposed the kemalism system on which the Army have the supreme power and authority to save guard the country from internal and external enemy, not to mention to be given a right to overrule the civilian system in matters which is crucial to the national security in particular, in areas when the civilian rulers try to introduce some personal sentiment which be perceived as divisive.

In the system which i am proposing..Regardless if Kebedom or Mohammed becomes a ruler, you don’t have to worry about the chain of command...and people sleep tight at night.

I heard from a very close relative of Isayas that he has kidney failure and that he is currently unconscious.

I said there has to be something we the public we do not see but the CIA following events in Eritrea via Qatar Doctors and other authorities are passing information about Issayas health and what type of disease and how long Issayas can live.

The other puzzling to is about a week ago someone posted Isssayas walked out of meeting in Asmara he called the meeting, if Issayas walked out of meeting last week, then he is okay, if he did not walk out then both may be a lie.

This what the western press was writing about Mugabe on 10 April 2012 that He was fighting for his life in Singapore and he has only days left. 8 Day later, the man was giving speech in Harare in the Independence day occassion.

What you said explained it all, hopefully he is okay. I am always admire of strong leaders like him, he is one of the few people the old Ethiopia has the quality of our ancestral leadership actually he a replica of his grand fathers like Yohannes, Alula, Hagos, Bahta and others. I do believe there is no other person could replace Issayas strength and dedication what he believes Eritrea should be. As Tigrayan I have my opposition to him but when I learn the man as open mind and neutral person I found Issayas is the man of ordinary people, loves to in touch with ordinary people and nature. A man travels and walks from one project to another as a city foreman and engineer who was assigned the project to come up with his design and finish the project on time.

When I talk about strong with conviction Issayas, I also reminded by the Tigrayans like Amora, Seye, Hayelom never flinch from their believe.
