WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is inviting the heads of four African nations to join other world leaders at the G-8 summit to discuss food security on the continent.

The White House says the leaders of Benin, Ethiopia, Ghana and Tanzania will attend a discussion session on May 19 at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland.


Obama abruptly announced earlier this year that he was moving the G-8 summit from his hometown of Chicago to Camp David. The White House said the move was aimed at facilitating a more informal and intimate discussion among leaders.

The president will still host the NATO summit in Chicago immediately following the G-8.

I can understand if Benin's leader is invited, I can also understand Ghana's leader, I can even understand if Tanzanian leader is invited, but Meles? When Obama was a student Meles Zenawi was a dictator, when Obama was 30 Meles Zenawi was a dictator bandit. Whatever happen to the smart man, Obama? Meles has been busy eradicating Somalis from Ogaden, this man is implicated in genocide, why would the leader of the free world associate himself with such characters? Sometimes, I wonder who is filling Obama's ears.

Who said life is fair; Camp David is for winners.
