Haile selasie was indeed a person who was excellent in self promotion and of course his self respect and manner during the peace time was not only exemplary but also extraordinary. Apart from that, he was a coward and certified metri who run away when the [deleted] hit the fan.

For your information, it was not the campaign of Haile selasie or his diplomatic dexterity which encouraged the English to engage the Italians in Abyssinia but their own selfish interest. If you read history; when Haile Selasie gave a speech in the league of nations in Geneva Switzerland, all western powers gave him a deaf ears and non of the member states condemned the Italian invasion of Ethiopia. insult to the injury members of the Italian delegation booed him when he made his famous speech. Something changed in Ethiopia after HS fled to Europe, we don't have any information what happened while he was staying in Bath, England. The secrecy and hush hush about his stay there is such that nothing was written about his daily activities while he was staying there. After he was reinstalled on the ethiopian throne by the British, those who knew him have said he was a changed man, in sinister way. It was after he returned foreigners had such a strong influence on him, especially the educational policy, which produced all the criminals that are tormenting us today.
