JOHANNESBURG - Ethiopians living in South Africa voiced their opposition to Prime Minister Meles Zenawi's “dictatorship” on Wednesday afternoon.

They took to the streets of Sandton to hand over a memorandum of demands to African Union (AU) members.

Officials are holding a summit at the Sandton Convention Centre in northern Johannesburg.

Zenawi's government is accused of suppressing free speech and opposing political views.

His regime is also accused of arbitrarily detaining thousands of people.

Demonstrators said they want to see change in east African country.

One demonstrator said Ethiopians are continuously brutalised by the leadership of the Tigrayan People's Liberation Front party.

Another demonstrator said many Ethiopians were seeking asylum in South Africa, because of the political unrest in that country.

This is important, Ethiopians need to know that organized reaction is the only means to weaken TPLF and eventually sweep it off Ethiopia. Its unfortunate it had to take many abuses to come to this end. As soon as the nation 2005 election was rigged Ethiopians needed to rise, but the opposition leaders on whom the populous depended on for guidance failed to galvanize the populous, and left it to die while they negatiated their freedom by accepting total responsibility for the lives of those many hundred Ethiopians.

Trial and error is part of a learning experience during the initial stages of any struggle. Those who can develop resilience from the experience also build confidence to tackle any challenges that stand before them along the rocky path to their ultimate goal, whereas the defeated opt to become a mirror image of the very regime they claim to despise by cutting a deal with George Soros which would make them Harvard educated dictators rather than real leaders.

I am one of those Ethiopians who is opposing to the brutal rule of Woyane. It is my hope to see a democratic country in my home land. Here we need to be carefull about our goal and startegy. I do not want the Asmara Gov. to involve our affair. The cuurent Shabiya Gov. is one of the main cause all this problem in Ethiopia. On the other hand those who want to use this opprtunity to conitune their agenda of Separating the country based Ethnic and Language based, I have a message for them.We do not want such rubbish and awkwark idea. Take your hand of, we Ethiopians are UNITED,we stand for ONE UNITED ETHIOPIA. This message is espacially for the so called OGADEN Liberation Front other separatist group. If you choose to live under one Ethiopia as a country
we encourage you other wise go to hell.
