Weyane without Zenawi is a collection of nothing, that is what I realised today.

When Patriarch Abun Paulos died I fully expected Weyane to reveal the death of Meles Chenawi and be over with it. Surprisingly they have kept "the secret" going. What exactly are they hoping for? for Zenawi to resurrect?

The problem with "the secret" is it does not stay the same every day. It gains weight, it accumulates every day's uncertainity and grow bigger and bigger. The size of the burden will inevitably break the back of the people that carry it.

There seems no one among the Weyane camp who understands this simple fact . Even in the very unlikely (almost impossbile) event Chenawi survives and comes back alive, he will create such disappointment and resentment amongst the people who are agitating for change, I truly fail to see the Weyane strategy. Although I have to admit "the fake interview" was a good attempt.

Given how badly Weyane is handling the situation so far, I do not see how it will not be gone by the Ethiopian new year.
