Ginbot7 Gearing Up for Change in Government

Postby Aragaw » 07 Sep 2012, 15:55

7 September 2012 [ESAT]
Senior leaders of Ginbot7, Abebe Bogale and Dr. Tadesse Biru, disclosed to ESAT that their movement is working expeditiously to bring EPRDF to the negotiation table or remove it from power altogether. According to them all efforts exerted so far have produced appreciable results and a slew of coercive measures are underway to hasten the process of political change in Ethiopia.

The two leaders have emphasised the role EPRDF could play in averting a serious and highly consequential political crises. The only viable way forward is to embrace the inescapable political change and work towards a transitional arrangement where all political actors will have a role in governing the country until a duly constituted and democratically elected government takes over. The two leaders warned if EPRDF is not willing to negotiate, then change will come through other mechanisms including violent revolution.

The two leaders say over the previous four years their organization has been operating modelled as a transitional government and were confident in their movements’ capacity to fill any void should the EPRDF government is to collapse.

According to the leaders, the movement has worked tirelessly to bring all political forces towards cooperation. Other efforts to break the pervasive media monopoly EPRDF has been enjoying for a long time has been successful. Ginbot7 of today is a movement with a strong and efficient organizational structure said the confident duo.

ESAT will broadcast the full interview in the coming days.

G7, I hope you match your words to action. We are tired and fed up with Weyane rule. Weyanes are mass murderers, robbers, and liars. They killed thousands people in Oganden, Gambella, Oromia, etc. They robbed billions of dollars, stole gold millions from NBE, pilfered tons of coffee from government storages. They commit crimes and blame others and kill them. Weyanes produce lies after lies and disseminate the wrong information to the Ethiopian people. In every sense of the the word, Weyanes are criminals who are not supposed to be in power. They need to be removed by force. They are ruthless and worthless human beings.

I am not enthusiastic about this one. Why would they brag at this moment if change is within the reach. Are they giving heads up for woyanes to take some preemptive measures? Is this not the very mistake that Ginbot 7 made previously, which culminated in the arrest of many non-tigrian military generals? I doubt if G7 is good enough in ceasing the moment of change. As to me, stop bragging! Do the real job and take action to bring a change. Ethiopians will not blame you for not bragging, we don't need that.

Ginbot 7 need to review their public relations policy. They need to update the diaspora of progress they are making. I know that most of the progress must be kept in secret but they need to devise a way to communicate and present their progress in a manner that doesn't jeopardise the struggle. Because at the end of the day they need the support of the diaspora especially in finance. And they can only get the diaspora energised and fully behind them by communication of their progress.
Otherwise if they just claim that they are ready to take over like they did recently, it is going to be net with skepticism.

G7s accomplishment to date is giving TPLF an excuse to throw brave Ethiopians at home who decided to fight the brutes with courageous none violent stand. They have no strategy except keep themselves on the news by sacrificing brave children of Ethiopia and intimidating those who question them in diaspora. This is another ploy to out shine those who are actually doing the fighting and get rid of rivals in the opposition that operate close to the people.
I bet in a few days or weeks there will be opposition party leaders, journalists or activists who would be executed or thrown in jail inside Ethiopia and in diaspora there will be some who would be labeled as TPLF spies.
