Why didn’t Chad arrest Sudan’s President Bashir?

Postby elias » 19 Feb 2013, 02:30

Greta of Foxnews asks a great question. Where is the U.S. leadership in helping to bring a genocidal dictator to justice?

---

By Greta Van Susteren | Foxnews

Don’t kid yourself, we (USA) do have much diplomatic muscle and could use it to stop the genocide of the people of the Nuba Mountains who Sudan’s President Bashir is torturing and killing (bombing, starving, raping etc.) Why don’t we – USA – do something?

Below is a perfect example — why didn’t we lean on Chad to arrest Pres Bashir when he stepped out of his country of Sudan? He has an outstanding arrest warrant from the ICC! Note the article below says the Brits (our best friends) were outraged with Chad — how about us? Did we do anything?

There are so many things we could do short of military action and yet we do not. We could put lots of pressure on other countries who give the red carpet to Pres Bashir. We don’t need to use our military.

I don’t believe we can’t get him arrested on that lawful ICC arrest warrant when he steps foot out of his country and steps foot in another country which is either our ally or someone who wants our money and technical know how and military weapons etc. There is plenty of opportunity to arrest him and there is a warrant to do so.

It isn’t just Chad. It is many countries. Egypt is supposedly our ally and yet President Morsi gave President Bashir a state visit last September or October. What’s with that?

And by the way, if you are not outraged by President Bashir’s cruelty to his own people (and I know you are), don’t forget that the Israelis just 3 months ago bombed an Iranian munitions factory IN Suda because President Bashir is up to his eyeballs in deals with the Iranians. Iranian weapons made in Sudan are then shipped off to Hezbollah to kill Israelis.

There is some reason the USA ignores Sudan and President Bashir and I don’t know what it is….but it is indeed tragic that we look the other way.

By the way, you can help — email every day your Senators and Members of Congress and ask what they are doing.

A super power like israel has to take measures of its own...a past president of America confined to just aerial bombing (when happened didnt have knowleged of what was really there so acted with full confidence of weapons); america's then allies, neighbours, infiltrating and killing "presumed terrorists" when all had to be done was engineere evidence of afhghani origins and the physics is simple from there; all that it adds up to is, when things are so simple and straight forward and regime change is justified to the nth degree the illusivity of the mechanics of geo politics becomes even more cleared! a similar saudi explanation of connections all the way up, with dirty money and crooked leg-trails, may not be too far fetched here.

the pther question is what is the warm and cold relations of the neighbourly north and south sudan all about?! havent seen childish politics like that before...ever!

Fox news and their right wing ideology any way chad and Sudan relations were not that well to long but relations were restored so its getting better. Why would Chad arrest the president of Sudan, what will they gain. Egypt and Sudan were allies for to long and they still have close relationship. President of Sudan visited Ethiopia also a US ally when the late Prime Meles zenawi passed away. The Americans orchestrated the south Sudan Independence and now they want to further weak Sudan its not going to work if you ask me.

Al Besher had never been as closed as to Amaerica's hand during Meles Zenawi's funral day. At list he was couples of feets away from Susan Rice  in the land America gives billions of tax payers money, Ethiopia. Therefore, Hailemariam Desalegn had a chance to arrested him.
Now the questiin have to be " why HaileMariam Desalegn failed to arrest The President of Sudan"?
