Are You Showing Signs Of Clinical Anxiety And Depression

July 12th, 2010 at 3:29 pm |

Feeling some kind of anxiety from time to time is perfectly normal. In fact, most of us have felt anxious when taking an extremely important final exam, or when we hear about a loved one being taken to the hospital, or when we are about to perform on stage in front of a huge audience. These are the momentary feelings of anxiety that pass once the event is over. However, if you find yourself feeling anxious about various things on almost a daily basis, that may be be considered as clinical anxiety, and must be treated as soon as possible.

When you leave it untreated, an anxiety disorder can lead to other mental issues. Some people may even start to isolate themselves from society due to fears brought upon by their depression and anxiety. That is why early diagnosis and treatment is recommended as much as possible.

Identify The Cause, Find The Treatment

Once the causes of anxiety have been identified, finding an effective treatment will be much easier. Two common treatments include oral medications and counseling to deal with anxiety. Provanax is one natural supplement that is helpful in treating depression and anxiety. Meditation and yoga are also said to help reduce the instances of anxiety-related panic attacks naturally. The one benefit about natural treatments is there are no potential side effects that are often prevalent in regular prescription treatments. For example, there are no negative Provanax side effects.

Probably the most troubling thing about anxiety is that the number of cases seem to constantly increase with each passing year. This might have to do with our lifestyles and other environmental factors, such as the economy, home life and work. We can work to be observant and seek help should you notice that you have signs of the disorder.

Recent reports from the Anxiety Disorders Association of America show that clinical anxiety is the most commonly diagnosed mental disorder in the country today. More specifically, it is stated that more than 40 million American adults are dealing with this mental illness at any given time. If this is still not enough to convince you of the magnitude of the problem, the reports also say that approximately $42 billion is spent on anxiety cases each year, which is about one-third of the total budget allocated for mental health in the United States.

One would think that for a disorder that is that prevalent, there would have to be a complete set of cures and preventive measures for dealing with anxiety by now. Unfortunately, no such cure has yet been developed. Experts are still struggling to understand this illness, it’s many forms and what causes it. For instance, one of its variations, called generalized anxiety disorder, is said to come from either hereditary factors, traumatic events or malfunctions in a person’s brain chemistry. When you are working to treat this condition, you will have to find the cause.
