A pee-brained Florida urologist has posted a sign on his office door that says, “If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your health care begin right now, not in four years.”

Dr. Jack Cassell is a 56-year-old Republican practicing in Mount Dora, Florida. Strangely, he thinks that only people who share his political viewpoints are worthy of his care. ”I’m not turning anybody away — that would be unethical,” he told the Orlando Sentinel. “But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it.” Well, at least he’s keeping ethics in mind.

Believe it or not, it gets worse. Cassell has a stack of photocopied GOP material in his waiting room. A sign above it reads: “This is what the morons in Washington have done to your health care. Take one, read it and vote out anyone who voted for it.”

In response, Orlando Rep. Alan Grayson, a Democrat, asked the Sentinel, “Why don’t they change the name of the Republican Party to the Sore Loser Party?” Rhetorical, I’m almost sure.

Doctors, like employers, cannot discriminate based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability. Nothing in the bylaws about political persuasion. While doctors and patients routinely part ways over differences in outlook on preventive or alternative medicine, it’s better for both parties to leave politics out of the exam room. Patients can vote with their feet, but unfortunately, Cassell may actually see an influx of patients from this conservative area who are equally angry about “Obamacare.” Too bad they can’t hold on to the high copays, lifetime coverage caps and pre-existing condition bans they love so much.
