Vietnam reports two more deaths of A/H1N1 influenza

Vietnam reported two new death cases related to A/H1N1 influenza, bringing the number of deaths of the flu to five in the country, said the Ministry of Health on Thursday.

According to a report on the ministry’s website, the 51-year-old man, who died of the flu, had a history of many diseases, including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart and kidney diseases.

The was admitted to the Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital last Friday for having fever, difficulty in breathing and coughing. He was tested positive with A/H1N1 virus last Saturday and died on Monday due to respiratory disorder.

The nine-year-old patient was admitted to a district-level hospital in the southern province of Dong Nai last Wednesday with fever. The boy was found positive with the A/H1N1 influenza last Saturday. He died on Wednesday.

Vietnam confirmed 110 more cases of A/H1N1 influenza on Wednesday, bringing the total number of flu patients in the country to 4,060.
