My brother Abebe and his WMD

By Yilma Bekele

I doubt there is an Ethiopian in the Diaspora not familiar with what happened last Friday. As they say the video has gone viral. The act has brought deep satisfaction to the psych of the oppressed and left the evildoers in disarray. Abebe took less than one minute to do what has been tried for over twenty years. His heroic act will be remembered in the history books like that other important event in the annals of our glorious past.

Of course I am talking about the daring act of none other Abraha Deboch, Moges Asgedom and Simeyon Adefres on February 19, 1937. The Fascist Italian Viceroy Rodolfo Graziani was set to celebrate the second anniversary of the occupation of our homeland and the birth of an Italian royal baby at Addis Abeba Palace now Addis Abeba University. That did not sit well with our freedom fighters.

Simeyon who has learned to drive befriended a soldier from the household of the patriot leader Dejazmach Fikre Mariam and was able to secure hand grenades. Abraha and Moges hurled their grenades at the Viceroy during the celebration but the balcony saved the Fascist pig. Their job was done. Honor was restored. The attempt on the Viceroy was followed by the massacre of the citizens of Addis from February 19-21. Their heroism was able to fill the hearts of their people with pride and joy and the number of the patriotic forces swelled until victory was achieved.

What my friend and brother Abebe Gelaw did was no less. It was a different time and place but the generous act on behalf of country and people is noted by all patriotic forces that stand against tyranny by a single individual. The setting was perfect and the delivery was laser guided. The event was a very shameful attempt to humiliate Ethiopia and its people. There was no other way of looking at this act of abdication of responsibility by the President of the US other than to bully our people into submission by affirming this unholy alliance that does not have lasting value to both our Nations. We pleaded, we warned and we tried to teach the administration the folly of this enabling act of a tyrant. It fell on deaf ears. We are aware of the fact Mr. Obama will not be seen with Ahmadinejed. He will not invite Assad for dinner. But he felt no qualms sitting with this criminal leader and place him on the same dais as elected heads of State. Our people and country were insulted. This election Ethiopian Americans should pay attention to this fact.

It was wrong. But our brother Abebe was there to set the record straight. Abebe used the art of ‘political heckling’ in its purest form. Citizens heckle out of anger and frustration. Heckling done right subverts the proceedings and knock the powerful and famous from their stride. In less than a minute Abebe accomplished all that and more. The lion roared and the mouse scurried away. There was no hole to hide no place to take shelter. The intense light showed the paper tiger from Arat kilo for what he is, underneath all that TPLF bravado there sits a little scared soul trying to get out. A bully met his match. The Prime Mister preys on the weak. In Washington DC the playing field was leveled in favor of the silenced and oppressed.

Since Friday all the talk has been about the patriotism, unselfish act and bravery of one individual. Yes it is true some people find the inner strength to rise up for the occasion. Somehow they dig deep inside their soul and come up with earth shaking feat that defies the law of nature and gravity. Do you think I am laying it on heavy? I very much doubt that. Can you think of any setting on that fateful Friday where the eyes of the planet were focused on? A meeting with the President of the US, the most powerful person in the world attended by the major News networks definitely counts as the premier event of the week. One individual put everything else aside and decided to be the voice of eighty million silenced souls. OH did he speak!!

Meles Zenawi is a dictator! Meles Zenawi is a dictator! Free Eskinder and all political prisoners! You are a dictator! You are committing crimes against humanity! You do not talk about food without freedom! We need freedom more than food! We need Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!

It was short, precise and to the point. It is all choice words that conveyed our hopes and wishes. The delivery was forceful and the face was that of an angry lion roaring. Where did Abebe get all that energy is a good question? He got it from us! At that moment eighty million souls converged in the body of my friend and he was transformed into human missile of untold force. I was there. You were there. We were all there. Then it came to me. The message was not really directed at President Obama or anyone else. The message was for his people. Abebe was showing us the power of the individual and the enabling act of taking personal responsibility for you fate.

That is why I compared it to Abraha, Moges and Simeyon. Their heroic act was not just about killing Graziani. Mussolini can always send another Viceroy. They were more focused in teaching us what can be accomplished when individuals set their focus and energy in search of freedom. The fact of the matter was it worked. The patriots were inundated by new recruits. The spirit of “Yes I can” became contagious. Apathy was replaced by action. Darkness was gone and the light shone high and bright. That is what I saw the last three days. Ethiopians walking tall. Ethiopians high Fiving each other. Ethiopians understanding the power of the individual to rise up for the occasion.

What was revealing from this incident was the reaction of two individual. The Prime Minster was left speech less. He was left with his mouth wide open and his brain on freeze mode. He entered uncharted territory and he was on a free fall. Abebe’s timing was perfect. The PM was replying about food. That by itself is a very cruel joke being played on our people by the hapless moderator. The question gave the impression the moderator was chosen for his looks and his talking head not his journalistic credentials. He is the kind who would ask the pilot of the Titanic on the procedure of glacier avoidance or Colonel Gadaffi on the art of confronting a hostile mob.

The PM who is celebrating over twenty years in power is the last person to be asked such question. His ill planned policy is the cause of recurring famine and disaster on our ancient land and people. In a sane setting he should be chided for failure of leadership. But in this Disney land environment we were witnessing he was pontificating how the agriculture system should be set to avoid food insecurity. Even the words they choose are not to expose but hide and play cute games at the expense of our people. They call it food insecurity, mal nutrition, calorie deficiency whereas to our people it is pure famine or the absence of food. Nothing more nothing less.

The PM locked side ways with a look of surprise. How could this happen is his first thought. Then he saw the Lion roaring. Relentless, focused, and imbued with the energy of eighty millions and this was one mighty Lion. The dictator looked down. The dictator shrank. The wrath of the oppressed, the spirit of Eskinder, Andualem, Reeyot and all those ghosts he left behind in his dungeon came screaming to haunt him right there on stage. Evil does not pay. The price of bad deeds is mental anguish.

The reaction of his bodyguard is another revealing moment in this high stake drama. He threatened violence against my brother. He responded the only way he knows. ‘We will kill you’ he uttered! What a weak statement. What an empty threat. What a solution to propose for the problem he found himself in. What would have been accomplished by the killing of my brother? They say you cannot teach an old dog a new trick. Killing is the only language the PM and his associates speak. That is the sort of people President Obama invited to his table. We are saddened by this act. We expected better from the son of Africa. We hoped for better things. What the white leaders have done for their brethren in Europe we thought a black president will bring us respite from this agony our continent finds itself in. Not today. We are on our own. Our destiny is in our won hands. It has always been, but the last few years we have shown the tendency to drop the ball. But when you think the future looks bleak the problems pile up and darkness attempts to engulf our soul there rises a beam of bright light like the star of Bethlehem that led the three wise men to where Jesus was born.

That is what we shall do. We shall follow the spirit of our young friend and take matters into our own hands. We will redouble our efforts to free our country and people by any means necessary. One does not make appointment to be free. We start now. We each vow in our homes, our work place wherever we are to start the day of defiance of the evil system starting now. It is the result of our collective effort that can usher the era of peace, democracy and freedom. We do not act due to hate. We do not act to hurt others. But we have God given right to protect ourselves, our family and our country and people from evil.

Live, I wanna live inspired
Die, I wanna die for something

Facing towards the heavens
I fell into pitch a black
I’m moments from landing and I’m shaking like a heart attack

Is there time, can I turn back
I’ve made mistakes in the past
Need a chance, can’t take it back
Wish I could set things right tonight

Live, I wanna live inspired
Die, I wanna die for something higher than myself
Live and die for anyone else
The more I live I see this life’s not about me

All I know spins out of control
Wonder what’s next for the heart and soul
Nothing I earned can save me now
Hear in what may be my final hour

Don’t want to leave this world, knowing I’ve lived in vain
No time for myself, so sorry, so ashamed
Don’t wanna livee this life, knowing I’ve barely tried
Chase down all my dreams that I’ve hid away on the inside

Live I wanna live on fire
Die, I wanna burn out brighter
Brighter than the Northern Lights
Wanna live to feel the daylight
The more I live
I see, this life is not about me

People, don’t you think we are exaggerating this thing? I agree that Abebe did something good by taking that rare opportunity to express what most of us would hesitate to whisper. Praising people for what they do is good, overdoing it has risks. Don’t you remember what it did to Lidetu Ayalew. People called him Mandela and look what he did. I can mention many more. I am just trying to say don’t be hasty in calling people ‘hero’. A hero stands a test of time. This is just the beginning. Learn from the past and don’t be fanatics. thanks

          anteneh,
You are comparing apple and oranges. journalist Abebe is someone who has been through this before and it is not his first time when he confronted meles. He is our hero whether you like it or not and he will go down to history as someone who put meles to shame.

if meles is Banda, who is the fascist? you called him banda, you must have someone else that he is serving? last time you called him fascist. you don’t even know what is what anymore because you are filled with hate.

Abebe is hilarious but let us not celebrate that yet,it is just the beginning of a long journey- Anteneh I agree with.

call him what you want, but to use a derogatory term such as midget suggests you feel the same about anyone that comes along at his height.

Wow! Huge victory for the Ethiopian opposition!

Through our concerted efforts, we have been able to achieve the impossible: political hackling!

This only shows the lack of vision, and the current state og disilussion of the Ethiopian opposition. It had been quite for a couple of years now, and after this long the best thing you could come up with was this.

It seems like the diasporic opposition have been reduced to irrelevance beyond redemption. Ethiopia’s hope now must be a new generation of opposition politicians from INSIDE Ethiopia. With courage to oppose the government INSIDE Ethiopia and with a vision and integrity that can mobilize people INSIDE Ethiopia (i.e. the people that actually matter)..

Who ever embraces the dictator Meles, cannot make up his mind till election day we should think of retracing or redirecting our votes the only weapon we posseses in this country.

Brothers and sisters is it really true that Mogus and Abraha threw a grenade at the Italian General? What happened to them after that, did they escape or they were caught? They were really brave boys. I wish I was there I could help them too, I can throw things and I am brave I came from Merkato. Why don’t we have their statues somewhere in Ethiopia? May be better than Kwame Nkrumah’s. Even a street named after them would be nice, if I was with them at that time I would like a street named after me “Kassa Fezaza Godana”.

Brothers and sisters, in the town i am now, there is this store that sells alcohol drinks and on its window the sign says” we sell spirits”. How do they do that? Isn’t spirit invisible? How did they catch it?

Thank you for reading my comment.

      • mekonnen on

Fezaza, you are really stupid not only fezaza. A spirit is a drink mixed with few fruit juices. Why are you asking stupid questions, I am ashamed you are even an Ethiopian. Everyone will agree with me. Dedeb. You wish you want to be like Mogus and Abraha kkkkkkkkkkkkkk

          mekonnen,

What is this world coming to? People don’t have any sense of humor at all on this side of the virtual planet. Fazaza is just attempting to get you out of this state of mind you are in. You are too tense talking about politics, Tigrayans, Amharas and so all the time. Fazaza’s humor can be a therapy you soul and body need right now.

          Good day

          Ezana From Toronto.

        • Ezana From Toronto on

          Fazaza,

You don’t want a street named after you in Ethiopia or anywhere. You know what it means? You have to die first in order for them (whoever they are) to name a street after you.

Okay, the spirit thing: I totally agree with you that you cannot see it and possibly you cannot sell it. But again, if you go to Mosque on Fridays, Synagogue on Saturdays or church on Sundays, what do you think those people are doing? They are selling you spirit. All you have to do is drop the money in a collection box, and your rabbi, sheik or priest will guarantee you the spirit, the heaven and everything that comes along with it, including an eternal life.

Knowing that you are from Merkato (or kombolcha?) who smoke lots of that good shi*, chances are you read spirit instead of sprite.

But again, why do they sell sprite in a liquor store? Or why do I have to go to a liquor store to buy sprite. Cause sprite goes with….

          Good day, Fezaza brother.

brother Mekonnen, I apologize for making you angry. I think for some reason we do not have patience towards other people. There should be a school that will teach all of us Fairness, Kindness, Tolerance and Generosity. They are very important values to acquire for all of us. The final test for any person is the ability to try to understand the other person with patience and tenderness.
Brother Mekonnen it is ok to say those things if you were angry, I hope you are feeling better by now.

Thank you for reading my comment

thank you for your kind words brother Ezana, I like humor, it wakes up the brain cells. Humor is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the other end of a telescope and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities. And it teaches tolerance. It does not hurt me when some people insult me but it worries me more that it is very difficult to get along and live peacefully.

Terrorist Meles is back to his fiefdom, Ethiopia, to continue terrorizing the Ethiopian people and to keep plotting against them and their interests. Tyrant Meles went back with his head down and with a slow-acting (silent) fatal stroke he sustained from the lightning blow delivered by our gallant award winning world class journalist Abebe Gellaw last week in Washington, D.C. It does not require to be a prophet to say that this heroic act of our hero Abebe Gellaw on that fateful day of the 18th of May of the year 2012 has a far reaching cascading effect and is no doubt a turning point in the struggle of the Ethiopian people for freedom, dignity and democracy. The terrorist mafia camp run by the ringleader Meles is already in more crises and visibly in disarray after the incident. Terrorist Meles is wounded irredeemably and broken beyond repair by this spectacular attack. The Meles terrorist camp is burning and raging like the wildfire in the deserts of California in the middle of the peak of hot summer. The wildfire is all out there for all to see it through the screens of computers. The thunderous bell of ‘FREEDOM, FREEDOM, FREEDOM’ that rang and echoed in the halls of the Reagan Building in Wash., D.C. last week, through the impeccable and succinct voice of our gallant journalist Abebe Gellaw, will continue to reverberate and resonate throughout Ethiopia until freedom day comes. I would like to assure you that that day is not far off. The end is in sight.

I would say that this is just the beginning and portends what is in store for terrorist Meles and his gullible hodam henchmen, sycophants, ass-kissers and hirelings. We will liberate you minions of terrorist Meles from the slavery you are in. Our struggle for freedom and liberty will free you up from worshipping the terrorist ringleader Meles. We will make you regain your dignity if there is any left in you.

Finally, I can’t thank you enough Abe for rekindling the fire that is engulfing and destroying the Meles terrorist camp. I would like also to thank Mr. Obama from the bottom of my heart for bringing in terrorist Meles to this stinging humiliation. Obama has not even greeted terrorist Meles. Mr. Obama is no where to be seen in the vicinity of terrorist Meles. Even Meles’s lie factory, a.k.a. ETV, has been unable to come up with a single shot in the whole shenanigan to show terrorist Meles being any close to President Obama nor to any of G-8 leaders. The Secret Service did a superb job in keeping Mr. Obama at bay from terrorist Meles. This clearly shows that President Obama has shunned terrorist Meles. Thank you Obama and I have your back.

You go and eat his Vomit that is what dogs do, you should do it because he is your master. Don’t forget he is a grandson of a banda that sold Ethiopia and Ethiopians, and even you and the people of Tigray. He killed and has a lot of blood in his hands. Where is he going to live in future? In Tigray? We don’t like him any way. He will not have a place in Tigray. What are his plans? We can see the contradiction he put us into with other Ethiopians. Tigray is part of Ethiopia. We will live with our brothers and sisters as we always did.
Abebe Gelaw did what any Ethiopian even any one from Tigray should do. People like you are the ones who is creating problems for us from Tigray. Meles is one man and him and his family come first. This is an issue of democracy we do not have democracy may be the oppression is even worse in Tigray, No one dares to speak anything against TPLF, everyone is a police officer in Tigray.

Don’t pretend as if you did not hear the hero’s (Abebe’s) message, Melies Z-seitanawi is nothing but a dictator to his people, and a yes man servant to the west. It is not because of his diplomatic skills he gets invited in some G8 or G20 meetings, but because he is a servant of the U.S and the NATO – that is why he invaded somalia on behalf them, to serve his bosses interest. And as Obama says at one time, “America does not have permanent friend, but permanent interest.” The U.S. can be friends with the devil if it has any interest. And at the same time as he is an expert beggar, he was choosen by his dictator friends in Africa to represent them in the G20 meetings to appeal to the developed countries for AID. No African leader wants to participate at the G20 meetings representing Africa to beg the developed countries for aid. The G20 + 1 meeting (The 1 is there as a beggar), what a shame!

President Asif Ali Zardari and the Pakistanis played their clever game at Chicago’s NATO’s meeting as usual. Who is more clever anyways, Zenawi or Zardari? There are a lot that we do not know about. Has being the “Yes Man” made Zenawi such a favorite and close friend of the West the past 20 years? According to Norman Mailer, the late American novelist, in an interview on Fox circa 2003, the U.S went to war with Iraq because the military is the only white institution that’s left worthy of anything: baseball has been overtaken by minorities, so is the rest of sport; the universities are for the Asians; Golf is Tiger Woods, which makes the military the last resort. Wall Street, Main Street and Hollywood never counted in a anyways…. All of a sudden we have a different kind of president in the White House and Yale’s Skull & Bones game is no more with Zenawi somewhere in the cards.

But overshadowing the summit meeting was the issue of restarting the supply routes through Pakistan. American officials said the main sticking point was the amount NATO would pay for each truck carrying supplies from Karachi, on Pakistan’s Arabian Sea coast, to the Afghan border. Before the closure, the cost per truck was about $250. Pakistan is now asking for “upward of $5,000,” another American official said. Pakistan was also seeking an indemnity waiver in case American cargo was damaged, as well as more money to repair road damage caused by the heavy trucks traveling Pakistani highways.

Free speech, is like public pool everyone have the right to swim but no-one allowed to pee. Whenever someone kicked out of the pool for peeing. They allways cry beeping kckined out of the pool but they will not tell you for peeing.

In short say whatever u like but insulting, warmongering are not cover by freedem of speech-right

    • TED on

At the helm of that “pool swimming and peeing” are people like you allowed to swim and pee by the system you put in place, but when you are threatened by other, trying to prohibit you peeing in a public pool the same system will protect you and help you kick them out from free speech(“public pool”)
Therefore Ethiopians are trying their best to bring a system that forbid everyone from peeing in “public pool”. Time up, 20 years of peeing is over!

Yilma, you can compare this balegie with hero people who fought Italian. You are really another Amhara chauvinists and ammhara supremacist. Is Meles an Italian? if Meles is an Italian? then Menelick also the first Italian. Because he landlocked Ethiopia by many agreements with Italian and French. According to you Menelick was half Italian and Half French. You are not rational Yilma. Go to Tigraionline, you will find beliefs and determination in favour of Meles. This is not about Democracy, this is about Amhara and Tigrean battle for supremacy and the rest of Ethiopias have to watch. The next prime Minister has to be Obang Metho from Gambela, but not the amhara supremacits who wanted back to make people hungry and die of famine? you king Haileslassie subjected 2 million Tigreans to slow death of man made famine and 1 million Woleye. What does Meles make him worst than your King Haileslassie and King Menelick? what did he do? Yes, he did mistakes like human being and you can oppose policies. But you tell me your fellow chauvinist Monster Mouth Amhara opening his big mouth to the world screen is a hero? have you ever seen a big mouth opened like that anywhere? Your friend went to in using his profession to access such event and he exchanged it for that action. He lost is professional honour which he will be now denied to go anywhere. I can tell you Yilma, as long as there are people like you on this planet, people will not live in peace. You are blood thristy chauvinists. Things will get worse for you. No more Amhara dominance anymore. Amhara will be thrown into he dustbin of history like Affrikaans South African aparthied languag. You get it. You can praise your gullible hot head Abebe. But no civilized Ethiopian would be happy about that event. This is not about Meles. This is about being undemocratic and using profession to get your way. You have only exposed how an idiot your are. You are really an idiot you tell us your friend who abused his profession is a hero. I see now you have no reason to hate Meles. The main reason you hate him is because he is Tigrean. Rest assured Abebe has made us think twice about democracy in Ethiopia. People must be educated before giving them freedom. Like Abebe and Eskinder Nega, they will abuse it. Eskinder was writing openly he want to overthrow the government by force. No government would allow such threat in any democratic country. But I understand for you chauvinists amhara elite democracy means = amhara supremacy. You can see you are making parties everyday and every new party tears apart after few days. You do not want the Oromos, you do no want the Tigreans? I do not know with whom you want to live? Amhara means Ethiopia? the rest is not recognized as Ethiopian? you can give and take citizenship? No, you do not even learn from where you live?shame on you and shameful. Yilma, rest assured we are back and if you are like this we will support Meles now with full will. Because yemtawkew Seitan is better than yematawkew amlak. A devil whom you know is better than an Angel whom you do not know. You could be much worse than Meles if you get chance. Chauvinists. If this is the way wanted Ethiopia, we will face you until death. We will make the rest of Ethiopians enjoy their cutlrue, langauge, and use their resources. You will not get anywhere with your evil agenda. You do not understand but Meles has got a big evidence that Ethiopian Journalists do not jounalism. Evidence? Prima facie Abebe Gelaw showed to the world politics = journalism?

The G8 meeting is supposedly a premier gathering of the leaders of the world’s richest countries and where small time dictators like zenawi come to beg for food aid for their mismanagement of their respective countries’ economies.

Zenawi has been coming to every meeting of the G8, to beg for more food aid and to complain why some of the G8 countries are not supplying the aid that they promised.

At this years G8 meeting zenawi’s worst nightmare came through. To the embarrassment of the host, for the first time in the history of G8 meeting the truth was told about tyranny inside a venue that made a habit of entertaining dictators and sending them with more money to suppress their people and put more in their personal vault.

The confused dictator looked puzzled when confronted by Gelaw and appeared frightened as if his rule is going to end then and there. He thought arrest would follow. He seemed to look for his goons to come to his rescue. The man that is used to sending his assassins to deal with his outspoken critics was left halpless-wondering what to do next.

What Abebe did was historic. He showed us hounding dictators everywhere they go is the duty of every citizen in every nation under tyranny. He also thought us we can’t continue to protest from outside but to do whatever it takes to come inside and deprive safe heaven for tyrants. He demonstrated to the world tyranny needs to go and freedom to come sooner than later.

As expected, the hand picked cadre that accompanied the tyrant did what he is trained to do. He threatened to kill Gelaw as he undoubtedly has done many times over in Ethiopians in the home turf.

And your saying “A devil whom you know is better than an Angel whom you do not know” doesn’t hold water. Who will support Meles? The Adwa people? Don’t include the whole Tigray, we haven’t benefited from the devil Meles.

Hubris is the halmark of TPLF rule. Hubris is the combination of ignorance and arrogance. Those who suffer from hubris usually end up no where good. Gaddafi is the most recent example.

Brother Yilma — congratulations on a great article. Congratulations also for driving Woyyane bootlickers and mini tribal facists like Alula crazy.

I am neither Tigrian nor Amhara. But Alula’s cheap resort to inciting ethnic hatred, especially against the Amhara says more about the Tigrai Liberation Front and its supporters.

Minority rule by a small-minded, vindictive, greedy and ruthless group over 85 million Ethiopia’s is the issue. Amhara are not the problem today. Rule by an unrepresentative, mercenary group of Tigrians is the problem

Whatever, their shortcomings, Amharas gave Ethiopia a genuine sense of pride and great institutions such as primary and secondary schools, universities, Ethiopian Airlines, a great army, navy, air force, many hospitals and other institutions that stand to this day. Amharas never turned Ethiopia into the beggar nation that Ethiopia is today.

The humiliation of Meles in Washington is no small thing. It’s the beginning of the end.

All true Ethiopians, including patriotic Tigrians, should come together to bring to an end to this disgraceful and sad chapter in Ethiopian history.

      • Surafel on

Well said Almaz, hats off to you sister!

        Alula-

Divide and rule is so yesterday it is not working anymore. All Ethiopians, or as you like to call them- all nations and nationalities are coming after you; you clueless TPLF cadre!

If this is a fight for supremacy between Tigreans and Amharas, then how come we have genocide raging in Ogaden, Gambella, Borena and Arsi?

If this is a fight for power between Amharas and Tigreans, then how come our Muslim brothers, who have been living for ages in peace and tranquility, are protesting every Friday after Juma prayers?

If this is a fight for supremacy between Tigreans and Amharas, then how come we have hundreds of thousands of Oromos currently languishing in jails across Ethiopia? Wasn’t it one of the TPLF generals, after he was released from Kaliti, who said “The prison speaks Oromoffa”?

When the facts fail to support your bogus claims, you always come up with the boogie man of the hour like Menelik, Amhara, Al-Qaida, Al Shabab, Shabea, etc.

My friend-please get a grip on yourself and make peace with the reality.

        Respectfully,

        -Surafel

It it during Meles 2 million Tigrean and 1 million Woleyes died? I am not talking amhara in general, I am talking the about the narrow chauvinists and supremacists who denied Ethiopians any recognition of being human. Meles is begging and saving millions from death. Hailesslasie did hide the death of the 3 million people from the world until the world get shocked and organized LIVE AID? It is Amahra elites who immersed Ethiopia where it is today. It is amhara elites who divided Tigreans into two. Now Tigrean and Eritrean. Menelick sold our people for 5000 rifles. He did our people by saying beyond Mereb are sold to Italian. He landlocked Ethiopia 100%. The problem which lead Eritrean for 30 year war and bloodshed was because of him. The suffering of Eritreans for more 30 years was because of him. You probably has hospital in your area. We never had even primary school. Our people were not even allowed to speak thier language. Are you not the ones who call Oromos as gala ena Kaaria eyader yegemal? how come now you have fallen in love with oromo? It is Menelick wwho was shipping Oromos like coffee as slaves to Europe? Neither Hailesslassie nor Menelick build anything. Hailesslasie actually took Italian factories in Asmara to addis Ababa? In Tigrai there were only two high schools run my catholics. One in Addwa and another in Mekele. Those were built by Catholic missionaries. The same in Eritrea. Neither Haileslassie nor Menelick did anything good than bad to our people. What did Meles do that is worse than all these? It is Meles who bombed the whole Eritrea for 30 years? is it Meles who bombed the whole Tigray for 17 years? You guys come to your senses. We are not going to surrender to your stupidity. Yes, we can love unconditionally if you are honest. But your blind hatred will get anywher. You can intimidated anyone anymore. You can not laugh at people anymore. You cannot laugh at the culture of other people anymore. Wow, look, you never help any Ethiopian this way. But you not listen whatever people tell you; because you are always right? always right? because you are amhara? this is blindness? I am not advocating tigrean or Eritrean interest in way. They need nothing from anyone. All they need is peace. But you are telling us you will kill us? what type of are you? who is going to watch being killed? You must know you will harvest what you sow. That is the reality. Yea, I advocate Obanga Metho to be the next prime minister of Ethiopia who is neither Tigrean nor Amhara. Will you accept ? yea, but he is baria? is he not ? because you are white? hahaha, yes, next prime Minister will be Obang Metho from Gambela, not Alemayu Gebremariam, or not Tamagn or not Abebe Gelaw or not Abreha Belay from Raya or not any amhara or any Tigrean. Yes, next Prime Minister Obanga, A Gambelean ? The one whom you call Baria? do you agree? leboch, racist, ethnicist, narrow and backward citizen. You will cry another 40 years in the streets of Washigton or the house commons? Hey, do you see any citizen of the world doing such type of embarrassing activities against your own fellows? what do you want? what is that you want? you want power? have a strong and truthful political party that can accommodate others? I went to Sudan. I tried to set up a rebel. But they told me I have to be from Gojam and the very rebel I set up they took it for them and I left and what happened the rebel died. When they see you speaking Tigrinea, they will immediately call you woyane? I cannot understand the degree ignorance among narrow and few chauvinists. I honestrly tried all the time to be nice and to love them, but they never accept no matter how approach them. No guys, learn to love your own people. If you do not your history please read. Amhara= Tigrie. You insult Tigrean and you hate Tigrean who hate yourself. Yea, I am not supporter of Meles, you are really pushing everyone to be with Meles. Please see yourself in the eyes of others instead of thinking you are the only people. Do not be racist. You accuse others as ethnicist and tribalists, but when you do it , it is okay? ere bakachu besemaam belu? oppose Meles for all the good reasons, but do not feed us your built in biase. You must understand the law of physics. There is an action for every action. No one is going to surrender to your hell bent hatred. This is not politics, this is pure hatred based on biase and ignorance.

      Alula!
First you should thank Elias and the Ethiopian Review to give you this kind of opportunity to express your crap. Say THANK YOU ELIAS AND ETHIOPIAN REVIEW!!!!!!!

Second let us go to your crappy points.
1-You are really another Amhara chauvinists and ammhara supremacist

–You have phobia towards these proud people. I say that not because I am an Amhara, but because my grandparents fought the Italians and their boot licker bandas like you side by side with these proud people.

2-Is Meles an Italian? if Meles is an Italian? then Menelick also the first Italian.

–Yes, he is! Proof One! Because the Midget’s grandpa was a murkumabash for signor Badoglio where his wife worked as a maid. One evening after drinking a lot of vino signor Badoglio snicked out and mated with the Midget’s grandma. Let me leave the rest for you. That is why people used to call shumbash zenawi with a nick name “ yevino Shint”.

3- According to you Menelick was half Italian and Half French.

–Then according to you Menelik the great is Franco-Italian. Ha!

4- Go to Tigraionline, you will find beliefs and determination in favour of Meles.

–The name by itself says something, but what you are on is ETHIOPIAN REVIEW.

5- This is not about Democracy, this is about Amhara and Tigrean battle for supremacy and the rest of Ethiopias have to watch

–Buwa Anta! What democracy are you talking about?

6- The next prime Minister has to be Obang Metho from Gambela, but not the amhara supremacist

–We are talking about the true democracy, not about an ethnic group or a person. One man one vote.

7- you king Haileslassie subjected 2 million Tigreans to slow death of man made famine and 1 million Woleye.

–Woleyes are what? You had a lot of DuQa today

8- What does Meles make him worst than your King Haileslassie and King Menelick?

–You started comparing the jewels of Africa with a Tigrean poop.

9- …have you ever seen a big mouth opened like that anywhere….

–The midget taught it was “YETEWODROS MEDEF” ha!

10- He lost is professional honour which he will be now denied to go anywhere

–A tplf cadre like you does not understand what a professional honor is. You guys understand a FURUSHKA HONOR. You eat Furushka, You talk Furushka and you poop Furushka. Period!

11- You are blood thristy chauvinists.

–I think it is not the DuQa that makes you angry like this, but the blood of the Oromos, the Somalis, the Afars, the Amharas, the Gambelas, the Eritreans, etc…..

12- Rest assured Abebe has made us think twice about democracy in Ethiopia

–Now you are talking the truth. You mean there is no democracy right now in Ethiopia? Ha! Now we are in the same boat.

13- People must be educated before giving them freedom.

–Do they have to go to Dedebit Cadre School to be DeDeB

14- Like Abebe and Eskinder Nega, they will abuse it. Eskinder was writing openly he want to overthrow the government by force.

–It is because you do not understand what these guys write. It is above your capacity!

15- You do not want the Oromos, you do no want the Tigreans?

–Now You are talking to me Personally. I am Abichu the bandas nightmare.

16- Yilma, rest assured we are back and if you are like this we will support Meles now with full will.

      –Are you kidding me?

17- Because yemtawkew Seitan is better than yematawkew amlak.

–It is not amlak, but Meleak. Kapish?

18- If this is the way wanted Ethiopia, we will face you until death

      –What are you doing now?

19- We will make the rest of Ethiopians enjoy their cutlrue, langauge, and use their resources

–Is it by killing us or by confiscating our land, or by raping our women?

20- You do not understand but Meles has got a big evidence that Ethiopian Journalists do not jounalism.

–It is only his cadres who understand the Midget, because of the furushka you get from him.

And last, let me ask you one question. How many TASA DuQa did you finish to write this crap?

    • Dinsa on

They know that this can never happen again in Ethiopia. They are left with such childish game, which is so hilarious. It is a sign of their ultimate desperation. They applaud it as a big success while almost nobody paid attention except themselves. I am sure that after few months they will be also ashamed to mention the incident when they realize how degrading it was to their already macerated self. Tigreans, Eritreans and Amhara, to me they all are chauvinists who always crave to hold on to that power. Is it any wonder they have been riding that nations called Ethiopia for, at least, for the last 500 years. I must disagree with you in terms of who is going to be the next leader of the country. It must be, OROMO!! No other!!

If you really thinks by blaming the feudal system That has vanished long ago is a cause for current day injustice in Ethiopia is you Better get seriouse! TPLF is revitalized it again with different name by calling it ethnic Federalisim. You Tigrayes when are you going to take responsibility for your actions? Ethiopian peoples are not twisted like Looters, dividers, killers bandas like you? They know who you really are and what you guys stand for they lived through it and still enduring your Apartheid systems and they are the best judge. You went on and on about a whole lot of bizarre claimes to justifayed your currents day actions.

Your delusions, ignorance, and blabbering nonsense with typical incoherence and is always amazing. You don’t have any idea nor comprehend what a country, people, and governance is. Your outlook is limited to your ethnic group, clans, villages, and does not extend beyond your local districts. Do you know why? It is because you are mentally, intellectually, and humanly challenged. You, as your master Mellesse, Woyane/TPLF terrorists, and EPRDF slaves live in dark, delusional, and psychopathic existence.

As typical puppets of Mellesse you expose nothing more than your ignorance, deceits, and treachery. By trying to defend Mellesse Zenawi, the small time dictator and his Woyane/ TPLF terrorist group you display a very disturbed, narrow minded, mentally challenged, and worthless personality. In short, you are worthless and useless.

Ninety nine percent of Ethiopians know and verify that Mellesse Zenawi is a criminal leader who facilitated and perpetuated crimes of murderers, state sponsored terror, ethnic cleansings, and genocide for twenty years. As far as Ethiopians are concerned, Mellesse Zenawi should be treated as a criminal for he is one.

As typical Woyane/TPLF thugs, your collective memory has betrayed you. Because you forget what should not and cannot be forgotten. Let jolt your dead memory by listing the crimes of state sponsored terrors, murders, ethnic cleansings, genocides, and treasons committed by your masters Mellesse’s and his Woyane/TPLF terrorist thugs against Ethiopia and Ethiopians:-
      1. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF terrorist thugs fought the Ethiopian army in support of Eritrea’s secession, begged the UN to endorse the secession of Eritrea, gave Assab and made Ethiopia a land locked country committing the greatest treason in history.
      2. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF mafia group gave millions of acres of Ethiopian territory to the Sudan and sold millions of acres to Middle Eastern and Asian countries.
      3. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF terrorists divided Ethiopians into ethnic groups as Italians did during WWII and created ethnic Bantustans as Apartheid South Africa did in the last century and facilitating ethnic infightings and racial violence in much of the country.
      4. Mellese and his Woyane/TPLF criminals planned, coordinated, and executed ethnic cleansings, crimes of genocide, forced relocations in most of the country.
      5. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF terrorists have been kidnapping, imprisoning, torturing, and murdering Ethiopians since they came to power. More than a million Ethiopians were killed because they demanded their basic human and democratic rights.
      6. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF terrorists sing songs of delusional development, fake infrastructures, and useless progress contrary to the reality in today’s Ethiopia where ninety five percent of Ethiopians living in abject poverty, rampart diseases, and death.
      7. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF terrorists (as reported by one of TPLF founders) sold millions of bags took the money and made millions of bags of donated grain to rote in 1985 robbing life saving donation to prevent hungry and death of millions of Tigreans.
      8. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF thugs are directly responsible for the hunger, pandemic diseases, and ultimate death of millions of Tigreans in 1985 in northern Ethiopia.
      9. Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF terrorists planned, coordinated, and executed the bombing of Hawzen in Tigray, Hamusit in Gonder, and Merssa in Wello by previous Ethiopian Air force. As reported by the same TPLF founders, Mellesse Zenawi and Sebhat Negga staged these heinous drama by selecting the places to be bombed, staged/ prepared the places with video photographers, inviting foreign journalists, and feeding the Derg’s security false information. They planned and coordinated all these bombings to get the support of Ethiopians and foreigners alike.

Melesse the narcissist and his Woyane/TPLF terrorist thugs and his EPRDF slaves created and maintained a dark, repressive, murderous, and terrorizing environment for Ethiopians and this resulted in irreconcilable differences with Ethiopia and Ethiopians. Ethiopians from Gonder to Sidamo and from Ogaden to Gambella and everywhere in the country live daily under the constant assault of Mellesse’s and his Woyane/TPLF state sponsored terror. Mellesse, his Woyane/ TPLF terrorists, and the EPRDF slaves are enemies of the people and the country.

    WHAT AN EXAGGERATION!!

Yes, I do agree with the fact that Ato Abebe had taken a bold move by speaking out about the undemocratic realities that the PM Meles represents in Ethiopia.

I am sure Ato Abebe knew there is a price to pay for this action. As such I admire him. Would I do something like that? No, no way!! I am a coward person. As a matter of fact I consider myself to be the most coward person to come out of the Amahar ethnic group, or Ethiopia for that matter. I love life and whatever it is I stand for, I will not compromise with it (life). No wonder, I become one Hodam Amhara:-)

While I agree that Ato Abebe has shown a highest form of activism that we witness in our recent history; what he did is very common among the activists in the developed nations. They do it all the time.

But to consider his action as a WMD and compare him to Abraha Deboch, Moges Asgedom and Simeyon Adefres is a bit of an exaggeration. These individuals knew that they might be killed when they set out to carry their mission. Ato Abebe knew he was not going to pay such price. Had he to pay such price, hew wouldn’t committed such act of bravery. By his own admission, when asked by his partner at ESAT TV, as to why he didn’t do such thing when he was attending a similar event in Tanzania, he said that Ethiopian government agents maybe able to kidnap him since Tanzania was in Africa.

It looks like this blog is a place where anyone can pick up anything and inflate it to make it look like way bigger than what it is. Last time such act was demonstrated in the character PM Meles Zenawi who was labelled as a fascist.

Meles Zenawi is a dictator, not fascist. Ato Abebe is an activist who had the courage to do what most of us coward Ethiopians couldn’t do, but he is not Abraha Deboch, Moges Asgedom and Simeyon Adefres.

I really did not want to comment on what happened on friday with the thought of not aggrandizing the act of an individual. I think of it as someone just trying to use the spotlight. A very selfish and unprofessional act from an individual who calls himself a journalist. And what surprized me even more is that people living here in the US trying to think that they can speak to 80 mil. ethiopians.
I agree he has the right to voice his ideas freely but that was not the venue. Ezih burger ena kitfo eyebela beBirra eyawerarede he still has the courage to say that the ppl want freedom not food. Eski Ato Abebe, wede Somalia hedew andd yeterabewun zelan, Megib weYes freedom newu ahun metefelegew belew and minn endemilih negeregn. And i am really surprized how ppl compare acts like this with other freedom fighters in our generation. I never heard Mandella leaving South Africa during the struggle. So I say to you all who think that you are the political leaders in this community really take your fights where it should be and stop trying to play with the lives of the people whose main goal in life is to feed their families first and for most. And Ato Abebe, before you say the people want freedom more than food, try to starve for a few days and see if you would reach the same conclusion.

    • Meyesaw on

Mr., Mrs., or Miss or whatever Malet Mefeelegew!

First of all, when I read your comment, I taught you were like an innocent bystander for the Ethiopian politics and I wished you didn’t comment on it. But once you commented on it, allow me to comment on your comments, because your comment concerns not only Abebe, but all Ethiopians who were forced to leave their country, because of the inferior minded ethnic group called TPLF whose leader as you know is Meles Zenawi. On your comments you said:
1-“A very selfish and unprofessional act from an individual who calls himself a journalist.”

—Is it because he became the voice of the voiceless, that you called him selfish? We Ethiopians didn’t get the chance to call this Dictator a dictator because he is pointing his Kalashnikov straight at our head. He silenced 80+ million Ethiopians.

2- “I agree he has the right to voice his ideas freely but that was not the venue.”

—Could you please point out one of the venues you think is better than this one so that we can use it in the future?
3- “Ezih burger ena kitfo eyebela beBirra eyawerarede he still has the courage to say that the ppl want freedom not food. Eski Ato Abebe, wede Somalia hedew andd yeterabewun zelan, Megib weYes freedom newu ahun metefelegew belew and minn endemilih negeregn.”

—You went a little bit lower than I taught you were. If you work hard to make the money, it is your own decision how to use your money. But if you get the money like the Woyanes, your statement will be applicable, because it is a BLOOD MONEY.
And you do not have to go to Somalia to see hungry people these days. In every corner of the country there are hungry people who are intentionally made to be hungry by the fascist group this person leads. I do not think you need more explanation, unless you are one of those individuals who travel to that poor country every year just to change oil.
But this person was not here to beg food for the Somalis, but bullets. Do you know how many people are being killed and how many women are being raped ever day by the TPLF soldiers in this region? Just to let you know these people have neither freedom nor food.

4- ‘I never heard Mandella leaving South Africa during the struggle.”
Mandela was in Ethiopia during the time of Emperor Haile Selassie I to confer with Ethiopians how to fight for freedom, because the then Ethiopians had the experience to fight the colonialists and their boot licker bandas. But the rest of the time Mandela didn’t get a chance to leave his country, because he was in Robins Island where he stayed as a prisoner for over 25 years. By the way there are a lot of Mandelas currently in Ethiopia in the TPLF prisons.

5- “And Ato Abebe, before you say the people want freedom more than food, try to starve for a few days and see if you would reach the same conclusion.”

—With this comment you went far deeper than the Dallol depression. May be because you didn’t know how vast the word freedom is. Please go to Wikipedia and try to refer the word freedom. I do not want here to explain that to you, it contains-
      • Free will
      • Liberty
      • Political freedom
      • Economic freedom
And all these are interconnected free will is connected with the free liberty with the political freedom and the economic freedom. I will leave the rest for you. I hope you will read my comments before you go back to that poor country only for the purpose of changing oil.

Abebe, is no doubt a hero of our time. He is officially invited, to attend the summit. However, Abebe, should SUE! The party who invited, TERRORIST Meles!!! By all account any body can prove, Meles is a terrorist.
He and the organization he leads is listed in the CIA, list of terrorist.Abebe’s life worth more than$ 100 million. His life was in JEOPERDY when a democrat like Abebe and a terrorist Meles, we’re put in the same Hall. Abebe, has a whole list of witnesses . The Human Right Watch, CIA, CPJ, Amnesty International ,Genocide Watch, etc. Above all the Ethiopian ppl. It’s the responsibility of the host country to safe guard the safety and security of all they invite. This didn’t happen. Abebe’s reaction clearly manifest the shock and ANGER of a sane individual to witness a criminal whose hands are socked in the blood of Hundreds and Thousands of innocent citizens of Ethiopia to be present in the same bldg he was in. Moreover , the body guard of this terrorist ,also threatened Abebe, saying “we will kill you”. It’s a proof that the a whole bunch of TERROISTS were invited to implement their acts of terror, had Abebe was not there to expose them.

I thought I “journalist” has acted wildly. He has been disgraceful and disrespectful to all Ethiopians and to President Obama when he was overacting like that. It was not an Ethiopian manner!! No one will profit from this…No one is the winner in this dramatic interruption and attacking of the “journalist”. T

    Eliase,

I really don’t understand why you allow racist remarks by Alula .He is praeaching hate on one ethnic group.

  23. Tatek on

    To: TD, Sol, addiss, Alula, Hayelom, and all Woyane/TPLF thugs and EPRDF slaves;
Your ignorance, delusions, and blabbering nonsense with typical incoherent thoughts and elementary school English is always amazing. You don’t have any idea nor comprehend what a country, people, and governance is. Your outlook is limited to your villages, districts, and kin’s because you are mentally, intellectually, and humanly challenged. You, as your master Mellesse, Woyane/TPLF terrorists, and EPRDF slaves live in dark, delusional, and psychopathic existence.

Whether you like it or not Abebe and Elias are real Ethiopian heroes. They are courageous, persistent, and dedicated for the wellbeing and freedom of Ethiopians. Abebe used the opportunity to expose the terrorist dictator Mellesse Zenawi for what he is. You, as Mellesse’s puppets on the other hand expose your ignorance, deceits, and treachery. You, by trying to defend Mellesse Zenawi, the small time dictator and terrorist leader show your narrow minded, criminal, mentally challenged, and worthless personality. In short, you are worthless and useless.

Ninety nine percent of Ethiopians know and verify that Mellesse Zenawi is a criminal leader who facilitated and perpetuated crimes of murderers, state sponsored terrorism, ethnic cleansings, and genocide for twenty years. As it is, Mellesse Zenawi should be treated as a criminal for he is one and he should be sent to jail.

Discuss and defend if you have the courage Mellesse’s and his Woyane/TPLF’s state sponsored terrors, murders, ethnic cleansings, genocides, and treasons against Ethiopia and Ethiopians:-
They planned and coordinated all these bombings to get the people’s and foreign supports.

Melesse and his Woyane/TPLF terrorist thugs and his EPRDF slaves created and maintained a dark, repressive, murderous, and terrorizing environment for Ethiopians and this resulted in irreconcilable differences with Ethiopia and Ethiopians.

Tatek, what’s wrong with you? I am not a TPLF thug , I am against TPLF. Have you actually read my comment? Don’t try to judge people by their names. This is a piece of advice for you.

  24. Tatek on

    Hi Elias;
Can you please find and post the picture/s of Mellesse’s security officer/s that threatened Abebe Gelaw in Camp David? It is important to know and expose these types of TPLF/Woyane terrorists.

    You Yilma:

What kind of WMD(Weapon of mass destruction) you are planning to use on my people of Tigray? Which one? Dirty bomb or biological? How dare you even think about it? How dare you?

    • Meyesaw on

      Tekle Bandaw!

The WMD the graet Yilma is talking about is not the Weapon of mass destruction. It is the “Weapon Of Midget Destruction”. If you are one of the midgets, be worry.

    • Hayelom on

Tekle, it is the aid money/food used as a political weapon for repression. Look what is happening in Ethiopia now – millions of people are starving to death due to man-made famine ( this is equivalent to what the WMD destroys)

I really admire writer of this article. Thank you, You did what is expected from you as an Ethiopian to thank Abe for what he did.
Thank You Yilma Bekele, I like your article, so I will keep it in my files.

Hi guys, Why don’t we make T-shirts with the picture of Abebe Gelaw and sell it as a means of assisting Esat with the generated income.

  28. T.Gebregzi on

A reply to Tekle, you are talking about your people,be open to learn, otherwise people will laugh at us the people you call your people,I am from Tigray too but the people I know are a people to be proud of and I am sure the see Yilma Bekele as a friend and brother, most of all as an intellectual, that is how I see him.

  29. Ethiopiyawi on

I was reading the article again and it was very exaggerated to compare Abebe with the patriots Abraham Deboch and Moges Asgedom. They are not even incomparable. I have a couple of comments on Abebe’s reaction.

    1) It wasn’t the venue to express this kind of wild allegations on the PM. The agenda was completely different from what Abebe was pointing. The whole agenda is about food which is the very important issue in Ethiopia.

    2) I doubt the professionalism of Abebe. If he was a professional journalist, then he must be governed by the law of journalism. He must have waited until the end of the meeting and when there is time for asking or comments, he could have said whatever is in his heart. But interrupting the PM while he was speaking and attacking form personal hatred is not professionalism.

    3) Abebe also said that freedom, not bread, is what Ethiopia now needd. I am not sure if he properly and genuinely addresses the problems of many Ethiopians by saying that. Bread is the real problem in Ethiopia. Isn’t freedom important? Yes it is. But food is much more important than freedom. If you don’t eat, you don’t have a chance to think about freedom. You have to first exist. For Abebe, food may not be important as he is living in US, but he is not 80 million people. He was very narrow minded when he said that.

    4) Abebe was very emotional, irresponsible and irrational when he was rendering the comments. He was waving his hands and you can tell that his ground is filled up with some hatred with the PM and the government of Ethiopia. But this will take him nowhere. I thought we should avoid this hatred to one another and we should work together fo the betterment of our country.

    5. Abebe’s purpose was to humiliate and personally attack the PM to be a hero on the eyes of the opponents on America. Did he meet the target? May be yes. But did the country benefit? NO. Did the PM understand and correct himself? No. Because Abebe’s speaking was full of hatred and his missing is just attacking and humiliating the PM. SO, I thought the PM may be filled with more anger and revenge as he is also a human being, not an angel. Some people in the US may be satisfied with the humiliation, but this means nothing if we really care our Emama Ethiopia.

So, Abebe may be a hero for some diaspora, but Meles is also a hero for many millions in Ethiopia. For me, Meles is a hero and Abebe is zero.

  30. Alula on

Does any one of you have a solution for Ethiopian problem? if you do let me know and be real Ethiopian and I will go with you to Ethiopia to face Meles face to face and prove him wrong. If can miracle agenda that can the poor Ethiopians? come and let us go and do it even if it means face death? that is heroism. Otherwise, I am tired of gibberish Chauvinists who tell me day in and day out how bad Meles is but they can contribute nothing to the poor? even if opposing with truth and heroism is a contribution for change, but spewing hatred about anyone is worthyless and does not waranty any social discourse.

    Take care for now

Dear ABe, You response to our question that we were shouting by saying time for A…….ction and you did it our Brother. We have a very short lives but History will be remain forever. Thank you so much for your determination and action you took behalf of 80 millions of Ethiopian People. I couldn’t believe my eyes just keep repeat it again and again and looking your emotional message to the World. To tell you the truth, I did not even see Meles more than a couple of times, since he is already a dead body who lost the God nature we have Sense of Humor and Common sense. It doesn’t matter about the quantity but it matters about the quality.
21 years was more than enough to someone to be on the Power if he/she leads the Country Honestly with Balance and Fair.Meles Zenawi is not from that Category. Ethiopia has a Person who makes him satisfied when he kills, Tortured, arrest, harass Psychologically and Economically Ethiopian People. The Good Point we have is:-He doesn’t represent Ethiopia and her People. Also, the Ethiopia Citizens rejected him because of his Criminal Activities.

Some selfish figure Counts Ethiopian are getting temporary financial aid to go to Bar and have Temporary happiness but not real one. He leant and bent down without conditional Guilty Conscious, but my Question is How Long????
My Message to Meles Zenawi, you, your small Cat wife, Azeb Mesfin, and all TPLF time is up. Time is to Pass it to the Majority to real Ethiopian people. If you are Looking Asylum, Ask your Cousin Esayas Afeworki the rest, I don’t think any Country will take a risk. If you leave Volunterly, I do have a place for you, please do not hesitate to contact me thru the people Voice, Ethiopian Review but the soon is the better.

I hope Meles will read this note and will listen to you. Thank you and Excellent Message.

To Hayelom; I want to extend my sincere apologies for including your name with the Woyane/ TPLF thugs. I included your name by mistake and failed to check my comments. Sorry, it is my mistake. I also want to assure you that I have never judged people based on their names, color of their skin, or cultural background. I do however, judge people by what they do. I don’t hate and despise Mellesse and the Woyane/TPLF thugs as persons. But I, as almost all Ethiopians do hate and despise Mellesse and his Woyane/TPLF thugs because of their deeds. Their crimes of kidnappings, tortures, treasons, ethnic cleaning, and genocides are what makes us to despise them.

As far as I am concerned all Ethiopians from north in Tigray to south in Sidamo and from east in Ogaden to west in Gambella are all my people, my fathers, my mothers, my cousins, my brothers, and my sisters. As citizens we may have differences but we should not degrade ourselves to use race, ethnicity, clans, and culture as a basis for any type of social, political, and economic discourse. These are criteria that nomads and barbarians use to survive thousands years ago. We Ethiopians are way above that.
    Take care my friend;

  33. local on

Although I like his courage, Mr. Abebe went to that forum as a journalist; now in my view he through out his journalist status out of the window because he can’t be a fair journalist since he took side; that means he risked his job by shouting that doesn’t make him a hero. So now we can discuses him as an individual who doesn’t like what he sees in Ethiopia. The writer tries to compare Abebe to Abraham Deboch and Moges Asgedom which is very sad in my view these two individual are hero who risk their life not their job at risk when they act. The writer exaggerated what happen last Friday too much and most readers agreed with him and that is disturbing. These kinds of event happens (shouting on elected official) in America very frequently so it is not a big deal, Abebe knows nothing is going to happen to him.

  34. Dima on

Abebe is a hero. A selfless person, if I might add. Meles Z. will never have a safe place to lecture, no more. He will be haunted by that angry roar of Abebe.

If i were a tigrian this is my cue to get the hell out of that country with all my clan members. Unless we start fighting this power monger together, we have a very limited time to run out of the country.

How a good revolution turned into a dictatorship? Serving him and his wife with all the sacrifice of precious blood and life. He just become god. Amazing.

Tigrean please unit and fight this man, catch him and put him in cage, if you really care about your children.

I do not have understand some of the comments about journalistic ethics on these comments…where do you get the ethics when all common sense, morality and justice is turned into a mockery by these dictator.

Abebe gave him a test of his own medicine and based on the video I saw it was so sour to be swallowed by the manic.

Bravo Abbe…I am hanging your picture in my living room.

I am ashemed of being a Tegrian, because of the hate i feel coming from other people. Just because of this sick individual. I hope he burns in hell.
