Virginia Drug Trafficker Sentenced
NORFOLK, VA—Jeremy Christopher Carter, also known as “Nephew,” 28, of Norfolk, Virginia, was sentenced today to 17½ years in prison for his role in the distribution of cocaine and cocaine base and on a related firearm charge. Neil H. MacBride, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, made the announcement after Carter was sentenced by United States District Judge Raymond A. Jackson. Carter previously pled guilty to the charges on March 10, 2010.
According to court documents, on November 6, 2009, Norfolk Police executed a search warrant on an apartment located on Nevada Avenue in Norfolk. Seized from the residence were 174 grams of powder cocaine, 99 grams of crack, an AK-47 assault rifle, an SKS assault rifle, a .45 caliber handgun, and $35,767 in cash.
The case was investigated by the Norfolk office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Norfolk Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Darryl Mitchell prosecuted the case for the United States.
